Da wir (meine Frau und ich) schon häufiger in Südafrika waren und diese Mal keine Lust hatten herumzureisen, waren wir auf der Suche nach einer Unterkunft, die uns maximale Unabhängigkeit und Naturnähe, nicht weit vom Krüger-Nationalpark bieten konnte. Bei der Suche stießen wir auf die Umoja Bushvilla. Der Kontakt zur Eigentümerin gestaltete sich per E-Mail oder WhatsApp äußerst einfach. Und im Nu war die Bushvilla gebucht. Da von Anfang an klar war, dass wir bei Einbruch der Dunkelheit ankommen würden, bot Chantal uns an, für ein erstes Abendessen und ein Frühstück für den darauffolgenden Morgen zu sorgen, so dass wir uns bei der Anreise noch nicht mit Einkäufen beschäftigen mussten. Für diesen Extraservice noch einmal herzlichen Dank an Chantal und natürlich Paula, die sich vor Ort um die Umoja-Bushvilla kümmert. Wir haben von dort aus viele schöne Ausflüge in die Umgebung und in der Krügerpark gemacht und in der Zeit, die wir im Haus verbracht haben, haben wir auf einer der Terrassen entspannt Antilopen und Vögel beobachtet. Sogar ein Elefant hat uns mehrmals besucht. In der Bushvilla war alles vorhanden, um als Selbstversorger gut zurechtzukommen. Dem Gast steht eine voll ausgestattete Küche zur Verfügung. Je nach Vorliebe gibt es auf einer der drei Terrassen immer einen Sonnen- oder Schattenplatz zu finden. Auch die Betten sind von guter Qualität, was, mit zunehmendem Alter, immer wichtiger wird. Und natürlich ist die Villa äusserst gemütlich im afrikanischen Stil eingerichtet. Wir haben dort 3 Wochen im afrikanischen Spätherbst verbracht und uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Auch wir kommen demnächst zurück.... Naturliebhaber werden sich in Umoja wohl fühlen. Wir hatten täglich Besuch von Elefanten. Und selbstverständlich kamen auch Impalas, Buschböcke und Co. mehrmals am Tag vorbei, um ihren Durst am kleinen Wasserloch ein paar Meter vom Haus zu stillen. Kleine Vogelbäder locken an verschiedenen Stellen die gefiederten Freunde an. Das Haus ist bestens ausgestattet, gut gepflegt und sehr sauber. Den kleinen Pool haben wir in der heißen Jahreszeit genossen. Chantal und Serge waren jederzeit erreichbar, um bei Fragen zu unterstützen.

The house is lovely, the comfort, the atmosphere and of course the surrounding with surprisingly wild life. First they we saw 2 Elephants! it's is place to stay for short and long term, close to adventure in the Kruger Park and relaxing at home. But be aware of the wildlife around you!

In September 2022 we stayed for six beautiful nights in the Umoja Bushvilla owned by Chantal and Serge. A couple of hours before we arrived Chantal already contacted us to make sure we would find our way to the plot where the villa is situated. We gave her an ETA and she was waiting for us at the gate at the entrance of Silonque Nature reserve to guide us to the villa and to give us a very warm welcome. The villa is absolutely astonishing and equipped with all thinkable luxury. It is also “load shedding proof” since it is equipped with a battery backup for many hours when there’s no power from Eskom. All the lighting and, more important, the fridge is connected to the battery system so you can drink a cold beer/wine while enjoying the wild life in the garden. During our stay we saw elephants, hyena’s, all kinds of beautiful birds, duikers, steenbokkies etc. having a sip from the waterholes situated in the garden right in front of the villa. One night some elephants decided to do some “gardening” in the garden surrounding the villa and the neighbouring gardens. We had a fantastic stay and will be back for sure!!!

Wij mochten hier een deel van ons huwelijksreis doorbrengen, dit huis wat heerlijk ruim is en van alle gemakken voorzien is en een heerlijk terras heeft heeft onze huwelijksreis speciaal gemaakt, je hoort de prachtige bush geluiden nachts en overdag kan je heerlijk naar de water plaats kijken en de bokjes en pumba's zien drinken en badderen, ook zoveel nieuwe soorten vogeltjes gespot en s'avonds de uilen. Je zit dicht bij het kruger park dus een dagje daarheen is ook geweldige ervaring. maar voor de ultieme rust en genot is dit huis zo precfect! De eigenaresse is 24/7 bereikbaar voor maar de kleinste vragen. al met al moet je hier geweest zijn!

Umoja stond al een tijdje op onze bucket list en ik kan alleen maar zeggen dat het huis en de support van de eigenaren en caretaker volledig aan de verwachtingen hebben voldaan. Het huis is ruim, gezellig en prachtig gelegen. Van alle gemakken voorzien. Kortom ons verblijf is voor herhaling vatbaar en we gaan dan ook zeker proberen om voor onze volgende trip naar het noordelijk deel van het Krugerpark Umoja Kruger Bushvilla weer te boeken. Chantal heel erg bedankt voor het delen van jullie prachtige woning!

The four of us spent 6 days at Umoja House. Depending on the time of day, we sat down on one of the three terraces, watched bird, impalas and other animals and made plans for the next day, e.g. a game drive to the Kruger National Park. Umoja House is very well equipped, so you want for nothing, and there is plenty of space both inside and outside to make yourself comfortable. The crowning glory was the visit of two elephants at the house's waterhole after sunset. Thanks to Chantal for the great preparation of our stay and helpful tips on shopping, restaurants, excursions etc., and to Paula and her team for keeping Umoja in good shape!

We verbleven 4 nachten in Umoja Bushvilla en kunnen niet anders zeggen dan dat ons gezin er geweldige tijd had en een perfecte afsluiting vormde van ons bezoek aan Kruger. Prachtige, stijlvol ingerichte slaapkamers, mooie badkamers en alle voorzieningen die je maar wenst. Maar vooral het buitenterrein met zwembad en braaiplek doet het hem: alle dieren komen voorbij, van impala's tot olifanten. De villa staat op een bewaakt terrein , met nog een aantal andere vakantiehuizen die je niet ziet vanaf je terras. Op een kwartiertje rijden ligt Phalaborwa, waar je grote supermarkten vindt en je het Kruger park kunt verkennen. Bijzonder is ook de aandacht van Chantal(Nederlands), ze streeft ernaar dat alles tot in de puntjes is geregeld en erg flexibel: door Covid moesten we tot drie keer toe de reis verzetten en Chantal dqcht geweldig nee en gaf ons nuttige info. Ook de terugreis naar het Johannesburg/vliegveld is mooi en prima te doen Kortom: je vind het niet veel mooier in Zuid-Afrika

What more can I say but Wow and Wow. Umoja Villa, met all my expectations and more. Beautifully and privately secluded with its own personal view over the watering hole. The whole house is beautifully appointed and absolutely everything you need .... just like home from home, but better. The home had 3 fabulous bedrooms each with their own ensuite. The wonderful wrap around balcony with lots of different seating areas, so if you wanted to be on your own you could. The Bird life AMAZING, we had lots of fun trying to identify them all. Admittedly we did not venture far this time, we visited Kruger once, but this holiday was more about R&R and charging some very tired bodies and Umoja is just the perfect spot to do this. We did not see much of the big animals during our stay as the watering hole was a little dry, but we did experience a wonderful African Storm 1 day before we left and I know they all decided to visit after we had left, but that is life in Africa!! Thank you to Chantal and Pauline who were in constant contact and were on hand if we needed anything, The house was spotless, Wifi was great and the house was so well geared up for Load Shedding you did not notice, and all the beers and wine remained beautifully chilled!! In two words, "Absolute perfection", stay you will not be disappointed.

Zo een mooi en compleet huis. Van alle gemakken voorzien. 3 prachtige slaapkamers met luxe en suite badkamers. Buiten meerdere terrassen en een plungepool. Mooi zicht op de waterhole waar je dieren kan spotten. Half uurtje over een goed te berijden zandpad, en je bent, in phalaborwa en vlakbij de gate van kruger park. Goede wifi. Veel leuke tips gekregen van de eigenaresse om in de omgeving te doen. Veilige omgeving.
