La bellezza di Spello si conosce, ma questo fantastico b&b è stato davvero una sorpresa. Curato nei mini dettagli, tutto arredato shabby chic è davvero molto accogliente, spazioso e pulito. Ma la vera chicca è un fantastico terrazzo in cima al tetto dal quale si possono vedere paesaggi emozionati. Consigliatissimo!! E Monica davvero molto disponibile e gentile. Torneremo sicuramente.

L’appartamento Altana (al piano superiore rispetto all’appartamento Patio) è posto all’ultimo piano del primo palazzo che si trova appena all’ingresso delle mura di Spello. È composto da un salotto, una cucina, due camere matrimoniali, una con bagno interno e una con bagno a fianco, e un terrazzino coperto sul tetto a cui si accede attraverso una scaletta interna. La vista dal terrazzino è veramente stupenda. La casa è curata nei minimi particolari, sono presenti tutte le utilità di cui si può avere bisogno, sono presenti perfino alcuni prodotti alimentari utili soprattutto per colazione. Le due camere e la cucina hanno tutte un condizionatore. Purtroppo non abbiamo avuto modo di incontrare la proprietaria nè all’arrivo nè alla partenza, tuttavia si è sempre dimostrata molto disponibile e cordiale. Complessivamente l’esperienza è stata veramente positiva. L’unica pecca è il fatto che il parcheggio gratuito più vicino alla struttura si trova a circa 400 metri dall’appartamento e, avendo pochi posti auto, molto spesso non si trova posto. Altrimenti è presente più vicino un altro parcheggio ma a pagamento. La distanza non è comunque un gran problema, può se mai risultare un po’ scomoda nel carico e nello scarico dei bagagli all’arrivo e alla partenza.

Spello House is actually part of the original wall of the old town. The beautiful terrace was originally a lookout post and commands a sensational view over the old town and surrounding hills - a great spot for an afternoon vino! The apartment is beautifully appointed, generously provisioned and very comfortable. Spello is such a beautiful hilltop town to explore. Spello House is located right in the heart of it all, with Assisi, Spoleto and other towns all within easy reach. Monica is the perfect host. Around the place but discreet, so friendly and welcoming. Monica's Mum made us the most beautiful cake as a welcome, which set off our stay. A truly very special time here.

We booked all three of Monica's Spello House apartments for a family birthday celebration. Each apartment is lovely - so roomy and they have every amenity for a long stay (we stayed 6 nights). Attention to detail was wonderful and Monica filled the kitchen with breakfast goodies and more - the fridge and cupboards were overflowing! We had several gluten free members of our party and Monica provided a great range of breakfast treats for them too. On arrival Monica's mum had baked us a GF lemon cake - so delicious and on the day of my husbands birthday she sent along a lovely bottle of sparkling wine. Monica was so helpful with recommendations - especially for our special birthday lunch where we had a lovely afternoon in a nearby agritourismo restaurant. Afternoon drinks on the rooftop balcony was a highlight - we watched the sun set drinking local wine with cheese and hams. Such a memorable stay - in a beautful small hilltop town - we will never forget the lovely apartments, Monica's care of us and the wonderful family celebation we had there.

Una casa splendida, un arredamento originale e di gran classe, una posizione straordinaria per spostarsi a piedi o in auto. Tutto pulitissimo. Basterebbe questo per dare un 10 e lode all’appartamento Altana Suite. Molto apprezzato anche vedere che le descrizioni e le fotografie riportate sui vari siti rappresentano fedelmente l’appartamento, ma soprattutto và riconosciuta la professionalità e la gentilezza di Monica , la proprietaria. L'altana sopra il tetto è una chicca veramente imperdibile per ammirare una splendita vista o semplicemente gustarsi qualche momento di pace magari in buona compagnia. Assolutamente consigliato.

We stayed here with friends for a week and had a truly wonderful time. The apartment is perfectly situated for access to the piazza and has all of the amenities you could possibly need. Monica was responsive and wonderful to work with, and left FABULOUS recommendations for Spello and the surrounding areas. We HIGHLY recommend her property to others, it is truly a gem!

As other reviewers have said, this apartment is PERFECT. Located in a charming, historic building, it is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Monica is a thoughtful and helpful host. And, the village of Spello is lovely. If we were to return to Umbria, this would definitely be our first choice for accommodations.

We visited Spello for a weekend, and I was amazed by the beauty of this apartment. It has a two double bedroom, one with an ensuite bathroom and the other one with a family bath just next to it. There is a large lounge/dining room with the kitchen and a terrace with a stunning view of the all village. The kitchen has everything you will need for your stay, something for breakfast and a few snacks. Also a bottle of wine and some beers. The apartment is furnished with shabby chic, which makes it a beautiful place to spend a balmy evening sipping some prosecco with friends. Also the place is basically in the centre of Spello with lots of restaurants and bars on your doorstep. I would like to write a few words about the owner, Monica. First of all she is one of the best host I ever encountered on my many travels. Before getting to Spello she told us where to go and what to do, also she came to pick us up from the airport and she also drove us back. We had plenty of water, juices etc….in the fridge and gave us a bottle of olive oil as a gift. To me this is going above and beyond hosting, and I will definitely go back to Spello House the next time I will visit. If I could I would give six stars….but I guess 5 will have to do!!!!!

I hate to repeat what other reviewers have already said, but this place is perfect! Monica is a wonderful host who thought of everything to make our stay comfortable- food in frig, home baked cake, Kleenex(rare in Europe), a flashlight by the bed! The only things that might be a concern are: 1). The apartment is located at the entry gate to the town. This means that there is a fair amount of foot traffic in the area, which results in voices, sometimes loud, until late at night. After the first night, to remedy this, we turned on the AC which provided cool air and drowned out any voices so that we could sleep comfortably. 2). The apartment is on the top floor - 3rd floor by American standards, so be prepared to carry heavy luggage up. 3) the free parking lot that used to be close to the entry gate is no longer free except from 7:00 pm - 9:00 am. You can pay to park during the day. We opted to park for free at the lot that was about a three block walk away. I tell you these things only for your own information. It's personal preference if they would be a bother or not. For us, the positives far outweighed any inconvenience of these items. We would gladly stay again!!

Where do I start. Firstly it was really hard to get my husband to go on this holiday and after staying in Spello at Spello House (Altana) he did not want to leave. Location is excellent everything at your doorstep, restaurants, groceries and beautiful friendly people. This medieval village is very special very close to Speleto and Assisi. Monica (the owner) was the best, her hospitality was beyond excellent. When we arrived the cupboards were full of food and she had even baked us a beautiful cake. We stayed for 10 nights in her gorgeous villa and during this time she was only a phone call away for anything we required even offering to drive us around. Half way through our stay she knocked on our door with another home made lemon tart, awesome. Monica also had excellent recommendations for different places to go she has a list in the villa of wonderful places to visit. Even making bookings for us for different restaurants and outings. Thank you Monica for sharing your amazing villa with us and Thank you for all you did for us to make our stay extremely memorable. We will definitely be back.
