We had a wonderful 5-night stay at the Gili Beach Resort. Unlike most properties we saw on Gili T, this is a rental home and not a hotel. It’s located on the north side of the island, which is much quieter than the busy/partying east side. The property itself is large and lovely, with both spacious and air-conditioned bedrooms (2 upstairs, 2 downstairs), as well as extensive outdoor living space downstairs right next to the pool. The largest of 4 bedrooms was located upstairs and allowed for quiet and dark sleep, with a very comfortable bed and cold A/C. The other bedrooms were also good-sized with en suite bathrooms and showers.
And the grounds were also beautiful! The property has a lovely private swimming pool and lots of loungers and outdoor living areas to curl up with a coffee, good book, or glass of wine. And the property is steps away from what seems to be one of the best beaches on the island. Soft white sand and amazing fish and turtles. In fact, this spot is so good that we saw snorkel boats anchor nearby for paying passengers to look for turtles and other marine life. Same was true at sunset - the beach has one of the best vantage points to see the sunset, and we saw several boats anchor nearby so that others could enjoy it as well.
The house rental comes with 6 comfortable private lounge chairs on the beach, with 2 umbrellas providing ample shade. The house rental also includes access to 3 bikes (we had some amazing rides around the island!), plenty of snorkel gear, and beach shoes in various sizes. There is also a giant dispenser with bottled water, which the staff would promptly refill when we ran out.
The house was great, BUT it was really the staff that made the stay spectacular. The manager, Hadi, was available from early on to help us sort of the details of our arrival and also some activities during our stay. He was also available via What’s App around the clock for any questions or areas where we needed help, which was super convenient. The other staff members were also very helpful and friendly. Zul helped us with the logistics of our stay and made sure the property was in top shape every day, And, Vina, Widi, and Hopipah were so helpful and especially kind to our 12-year old son, They made us a delicious breakfast every morning - we love Indonesian breakfast — delicious local coffee and we always had fresh fruit and other tasty snacks for the day. The other staff was also amazing - Putu, Indha, We had a bbq on the beach one night and it was a seafood feast! So much lobster, langoustines, shrimp, squid, and many other tasty dishes. It was so much food, we were able to save it and have a second dinner the next night! Ozy, the night guard, also played guitar for us by the bonfire — really magical.
When we left for our next chapter at a resort on Lombok, all of the staff helped us with luggage, Hadi arranged a private boat that picked us up on our beach, and the entire staff gave us hugs and smiles to say goodbye.
Overall, we can’t say enough good things about the Gili Beach Resort - 5+ stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - and we would definitely come back!
