Just back from 2 weeks at the Orange Grove cottage at Finca Arboleda, I have to say this property far exceeded our expectaions, it is well presented and spotlessly clean with all the comforts of home, the gardens/groves and pool area are beautiful and private. There is also a 2 bed villa ( the old stables) which is set apart from the other accomodation in the olive grove, this property is also very impressive, both represent fantastic value. I would highly recommend Finca Arboleda to anybody.
It is ideally situated for exploring this region of Andalusia and into Murcia There are miles of unspoilt beaches just 10mins away. In Vera town there are numerous restaurants, bars, supermarkets etc all reasonably priced and only 5 mins away.

Lovely finca
This is a lovely 2 bedroom finca. It is very well equipped and even has some English channels on the TV. The finca is surrounded by mature olive, orange and lemon trees. It has a lovely swimming pool which is shared by one other finca. Just a 25 minute walk to town and the supermarkets or a 30 minute drive to pretty villages or blue flag beaches. Our hosts were very kind and respected our privacy. We very much hope to return to Finca Arboleda in the near future.

Thank you for your review, it was a pleasure to have you stay here. Just to clarify the pool is shared by the 2 bedroom old stables and the 1 bedroom orange grove so a maximum of 6 people. We also live here but do not use the pool if guests are enjoying it.
It would lovely to have you stay here again when the pool is a bit warmer.

Perfect peaceful villa in fantastic location
Just returned from a peaceful and relaxing two weeks stay at the Old Stables. We would like to thank Mick and Pirkko very much for their great attention to detail in preparing and equipping the villa with everything you need for an easy stay. In particular providing beach towels (saves on luggage weight), shopping bags, having a reliable internet and UK TV (life saver for the World Cup!) are all nice touches. Combined with the tranquillity of the gardens and pool area, we really enjoyed our time here, the villa is clean, comfortable and as regular renters in Spain, lacking nothing in our opinion. Having fresh hen's eggs and home produced Olive Oil are also nice bonuses. Although we chose to stay in the Stables, having viewed the Orange Grove during our stay, we would recommend either place for quality and attention to detail.
Mick and Pirkko are always available if you need them for local advice, information and general chat, especially for football banter! As the description states they are very discreet though and you need to knock on their door if you want anything, which is very handy.
If you are planning a trip to this area, just book here, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. There are many places of interest within a one hour drive, superb beaches and lots of quality restaurants in surrounding towns and villages. We will definitely return to book either property when next in this area.
For any prospective bookers, you will need a car to access and get out and about, unless you plan on never leaving the villa during your stay (highly unlikely!!)

well equipped cottage in tranquil garden
We stayed at the Old Stables for 2 weeks, which is set amongst Olive trees and equipped with everything one could want for a self catering holiday. Close to Vera town and the coast with lots of bars/restaurants, supermarkets within easy reach, though a car is essential. The owners are always available to help if required but otherwise unobtrusive and there is a lovely pool area, though too cold to use when we were there.

A perfect holiday…..
Great accommodation with nice areas to sit out and those little extras, like a cool box, beach sun umbrellas and towels plus essentials for the hot weather with ceiling fans and air conditioning. The pool area was beautiful and although we don’t sit still for long we enjoyed a dip after a cycle into town and an early evening swim and glass of wine overlooking the ‘campo’. Everything felt well cared for and loved and not a typical holiday rental. Vera is a lovely Spanish town with everything you need and nice cobbled streets with quaint squares, bars and restaurants. Finca Arboleda has a rural feel but it’s only 5 minutes to town and a little further to the beach and lots of nice coves .
Drinks and eating out was much cheaper than we thought, despite the lower exchange rate.
We look forward to returning in the cooler months to cycle further afield.

Fabulous find!
We had two fabulous weeks at Finca Arboleda staying in the Old Stables. Very clean and loved the open plan kitchen / dining/ living and the fabulous outside space. It was very quiet and private and perfect to have breakfast outside in the shade the pre dinner drinks watching all the swifts and even owls.
Ideally located for supermarkets, shops, restaurants and golf - you do need a car however with BBQ facilities and great weather and space we are in many nights!
The pool was amazing, so clean and cool even during the heatwave. The gardens are beautiful and loads of gorgeous trees to get shade in the heat of the day as well as still feel a breeze.
Being on different levels meant it was very private, there was one couple in the apartment for our first week who it was lovely to chat with at the end of the day. Plenty of space around the pool with good beds and pads!!
Mick, Pirrko and Stig were all fabulous. You really feel they have welcomed you unto their home. Full of helpful advice and also greet company - they will recommend the best lamb ever in a nearby village! It was such a pleasure to meet you all and spend time with you.

Quiet comfortable relaxing with excellent facilities and ambiance.
We have stayed at Finca Arboleda most years for the past decade. Having built something new many owners rest on their achievement, here we have watched the owners carefully improve the accommodation and create a lovely place to stay. This is a lovely spot with views across the countryside and a peaceful poolside setting surrounded by fruit and olive trees. Close to Vera and beaches with the resort of Mojocar close by, or for those that wish to explore further afield the sierras have fantastic scenery and the original spaghetti western film set is not far. The Alambhra palace at Granada is really worth a visit and there are the roman remains at Cartagena for those who like history and an interesting port. Finca Arboleda is ideal for those who like to holiday independently to their own itinerary, with Mick and Pirkko on hand for friendly advice All the work colleagues and friends that have been here have enjoyed their stay.

You make a couple of good points about visiting Cartagena and Granada, although a little too far for some people they are an option when you just can't face another day lazing by the pool!

Another wonderful relaxing holiday
We first visited Finca Arboleda in 2007 and have returned every year since, having stayed in both the apartment and villa. The two properties are well equipped, clean and comfortable with peaceful gardens and lovely pool. The owners Michael and Pirkko are great hosts - they are there if you need them for help or advice on the area, but never intrusive. The finca is situated 5/10 minutes drive from Vera which has all the essential amenities - bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, banks and a large market on Saturdays. There are many lovely beaches a short drive away and interesting villages and towns to visit. All in all it is a brilliant holiday destination in a quiet, relaxing location and there is not enough space to detail all its merits.
We are due to go again very soon and are looking forward to two weeks of warm, sunny weather away from the miserable, wet winter we have been experiencing at home. We will enjoy the wonderful fresh orange juice from the finca's trees and the newly laid eggs from the chickens. Can't wait to get there!

Wow you've been coming for almost 10 years, how the years have flown. It's like catching up with family when you arrive but we don't have to entertain or feed you ! Just kidding, but guests like you help us keep on top of our game and it's great to know it's appreciated.

Peacefull calm oasis of lovleness
Very clean,every thing you need in villa,,chilly in the evening but a great log burner which was lovley ,swimming pool out of this world ,must go back so I can use it in the summer, walking around the garden a joy. The Host well what can you say apart from fantastic ,there if needed but not if not ,would of enjoyed staying longer so we could of sat and chatted over a glass of wine or two with them x

A relaxing and comfortable stay
A relaxing, peaceful and comfortable stay in a very well equipped property among the olive groves. Totally private but only 5 minutes away from local amenities. Michael and Pirkka were perfect hosts and having visited self catering properties all over the world his rated very high on the scale. We will not hesitate to return. A perfect way to spend Christmas.
