They have the worst customer service ever. Please look for an alternative place for your own good!!!

Vi tillbringade en av våra två veckor i sri lanka i detta fina och moderna hus. Jag hade dock hoppats på mer, blev lite besviken då vi kom dit eftersom stranden inte alls är utanför dörren. Till huset hör en jättefin infinitypool precis vid havet. Utsikten och solnedgångarna är magiska men tyvärr så är stranden en bit bort. Det finns en liten strand ca 500 meter bort men där är det ganska svårbadat, pga all korall. Ca 1000 meter bort så finner man unawatuna beach. Helt ok strand men blir djup ganska fort. Vi valde att inte bada där utan tillbringade våra förmiddagar på närliggande och vackra stränder (Dalawella, Jungle Beach, Kabbalana beach etc). För mig med barn så är läget väldigt viktigt. Vidare så får man tyvärr ingen morgonsol vid poolen, solen kommer fram först runt lunch-tid. I övrigt var boendet helt ok, AC' fungerade inte helt felfritt. Hur man än ställde in dem så blev det antingen för kallt eller för varmt. Vissa av de stora fönsterdörrarna till rummen gick inte att stänga igen helt, vilket gjorde att det kom in mycket mygg och insekter.

This was our second visit to Thambilli Beach House (and the Cabana) after our initial stay way back in 2012. The villa is lovely, modern and clean with a good sized pool and amazing views out to the ocean and across to Unawatuna beach. It is situated at the very east end of Unawatuna beach, away from the hustle bustle a little but still within just a few minutes walk of the beach and the restaurants and bars. The staff were attentive and always on hand to make coffee, keep the fridge stocked with beer and soft drinks and to cook whatever took our fancy for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even just a snack. I would highly recommend asking the staff to prepare a BBQ for dinner in the evening with fresh fish and prawns, it was delicious. Although not on site the whole time, Ranga the property manager is excellent and is able to offer help and advice on arranging trips, what the cost of tuk tuks from A to B should be etc. The one thing I would say is that the villa is not ideally suited to young children as there are lots of drop offs from stairs and floors that can be slippery when wet but overall a fantastic place to spend your holiday. Hopefully we wont leave it 6 years before returning next time!

We stayed here for two days for my birthday, and honestly I could not think of a better place I could've been at! The house is lovely!! The feel of it and the experience is incredible.. the caretakers are very helpful and always around with a smile.. the pool was always the perfect temperature and the outside verandah is just perfect for a relaxed day with a beer/tea and a book :) The photos just don't do justice to the feel.. The master bedroom is nice an the bathroom is a lot of fun as it has no roof, the only issue there can be when the sun is out and strong or if it raining, but there are two other bathrooms that an be used so it's barely an issue.. There is a small little access to the beach, it's pretty rocky and not really swimmable but still pleasant to go down to for a while.. The unexpected highlight was the food!! Such awesome food!!! The first day when we reached after an overnight travel, we were starved and exhausted.. we just wanted to quickly eat something and rest, but when we had the food.. we were just refreshed! Excellent cook, perfect balance of taste, the seafood and fish was spectacular, there two vegetarians with us and they also really enjoyed all the meals.. All in all excellent 2 days..

It is an amazing home! The aesthetics are great, it's very chic and artsy. The kids loved the pool, the rooms and the master bath are lovely. The kitchen is not really functional for the guests to cook, all the cooking has to be done by the caretaker boys in the home. The view from the deck is lovely, sea breeze sets in by 3 or 4 pm, and flows thru the home! We chose to eat out, except for breakfasts. The quality of the BF was average and was expensive for what we got. I am comparing this with other locations we stayed at. The owner is quick to respond to queries. Some of us had cold water for our baths the first day, and the heater had to be repaired. Then we had no power the next day because of electrical work in that area ( not the owner's fault). The price was high, given the holiday week, but this property is of international quality.

Thambilli beach house is located in the heart of unawatuna, 15 minutes walking distance from the market and 15 min by bike/tuktuk to Galle. Highly recommended for families and or friends. Staff are friendly but make sure you bring and make your own food as their kitchen offering isn't the best. House maintenance and cleanness was great however the AC broke down on the last 2 days and was uncomfortable... The view from the villa is mesmerizing and the infinity pool was the cherry on-top.

Et flott hus med en fantastisk utsikt. Fint og stort basseng og kort vei til stranda. Rolig og avslappende for hele familien. Bra service fra de som jobber der og utsøkt mat. Et uforglemmelig opphold på flotte Sri Lanka.

We spent two nights at the Thambili Beach House in February. We were a group of 9 and Ranga was very accommodating and provided us an extra bed. The villa is beautiful and has stunning views of the ocean. The place is tastefully decorated and is perfect for a relaxing beach holiday. The beach is short walk away but its not such a big issue. The infinity pool and the surrounding area is great for chilling out. The rooms were cleaned and beds were made daily which was great! Mahesh who was very obliging made some delicious meals for us. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at the villa. The villa is ideal for 6 people as there are only 2 bathrooms.

I went to Thambilli Beach House with my husband and two children. It was our first holiday with my two children now both officially "adults" (i.e. over 18). We had the most fantastic time and one of the best holiday's I have ever had. The staff at Thambilli were wonderful and made sure that we always had everything we needed - often sorting things out before we even realised we needed them sorted. I would recommend the home cooked meals, the trip to the snakefarm, the saffari and the whale watching. Also recommend the tailor we bought a load of material from the local supermarket and had some wonderful casual pants, dresses and tops made up for all us. All in all I would highly recommend both Thambilli Beach House and Sri Lanka as a wonderful holiday destination!

The Property is beautiful and worth the price we paid for. The place is kept clean and though has a staff of 3 you get enough privacy. The Property comes with a cook and has 2 caretakers. You can buy groceries from the store and tell the cook to prepare food or tell them to buy groceries and they will cook for you. Language is a problem. So be prepared to explain things a couple of times. Overall the experience, the persons looking after the property is great.
