We just returned from an exceptional week at El Chante Surf House. We shared the house with another family over thanksgiving week 2019. Our group was 4 adults, and 4 teenagers, and it was the perfect place for us to stay. The location was excellent, the beach was a short walk away. Surf was great, the beach had a couple breaks so we could choose the waves we were comfortable learning on. Fernando (and his awesome dog Cuchara) was an excellent host. He provided us with great advice, local information, surf lessons etc. He helped us arrange ATV rentals, and connected us with surfboards for the week. With the logistics covered, we could get in the water as soon as we arrived! It was a zero stress week in a wonderful environment. We cant wait to return to El Chante!

Quite near the beach, 5 min walk down to the beach. 15 min to Santa Teresa center by car. We had a family gathering, total 8 pax and we rented 4 rooms and we felt like home in this beautiful house and garden. There was a good kitchen, bbq chargrill and we cooked every day. There is also a nice patio with a big table. We enjoyed our stay and our host Fernando was friendly and accommodating. I can recommend Fernando´s El Chante Surf House to everyone, you gona love your stay there.

Best spot in Santa Teresa
We stayed at Fernando‘s place in late November 2018. It is private, comfortable a quick walk to a very quiet beach with great surfing. Everything went very well in the house. Comfortable beds bathrooms and air conditioning. The pool was always in the best shape as well as all of the landscaping and outdoor furniture.
Also the kitchen was complete and had everything you needed
Fernando was our guide to the best of Santa Teresa including shops, restaurants, beaches, activities etc. Everything he recommended was top-notch.
He was also very very responsive when we had questions. He is also a super nice guy. He built the property himself and you can tell daddy took a lot of pride in it, as he should, it is an excellent house.
The location is on the north end of Santa Teresa beach which is away from the crowds and the party crew, which was perfect for my wife daughter and I. The area is also very safe and everyone’s very friendly.
I cannot recommend it enough.

Relaxing and comfortable and a great location
We have stayed here before, and come back as we like Fernando and Kristie and Cuchara and the surf house and the ocean and the area. This time we spent one night in the newly added room on first floor. It was very nice -- we enjoyed the private entrance and patio. We like that the surf house is within walking distance to the beach - plus we like TP8, the restaurant at the end of the block. One of us was able to take surf lessons again. We met and shared some time upstairs with very nice people from France. We learned about Curly's ice cream rolls -- sold on the beach. There is always someone or something new in the area to learn about or meet!

superbe endroit perdu au bout du monde, maison très agréable pour nos deux familles, magnifique jardin et piscine, bordée de forêt avec nos amis les singes, non loin d'une plage magnifique adaptée à tous les niveaux de surfeurs, arrière pays à découvrir, ballade à cheval magique, restos et supermarchés non loin, propriétaire adorable et merveilleux guide. un de nos meilleurs spots au Costa Rica !

We stayed again -- and will again
We like staying here, and have stayed here numerous times. Our preference is room one, which has a private bathroom. Each year Fernando makes a change or two. We thoroughly enjoyed the hammocks in the rancho by the pool --- the shade made them the perfect spot for reading or taking a little nap. The beach, which is fabulous, is a short walk and there is a restaurant within walking distance, too. Having access to a shared cooking area / refrigerator is a definite plus, as we like to put together a meal now and then. We think Fernando is the best. He is an excellent surfing instructor -- just ask him if you wish to set up a time. He knows the best places to go, and can help you with whatever you want to plan.

A little piece of paradise!
This is the best place to stay in Santa Teresa! I have been here twice, and I'm sure it's not the last.
It takes only a few minutes to walk to Playa Hermosa, where its perfect to surf. You can either have lessons or rent a board from Fernando. He is a great instructor!
There are a lot of activities available in the area, always something to do.
The house is clean and have everything you need. It's decorated so beautifully!
If you have any questions, or need anything they will help you. Such wonderful people, Kristin and Fernando.

We'll stay again another time
This was our second time staying here. There were some improvements done outside that made it extra nice to lounge by the pool or visit with other people. Fernando is a superb instructor at surfing. He also helps you to arrange activities you would like to do or provides information --- such as the names of good restaurants. Good people, good place. We plan on staying here again.

Un petit coin de paradis...
Un petit coin de paradis... à 2 pas de la plage hermosa!
Je suis actuellement dans un hamac sur la terasse de la maison à l'ombre, au bord de la piscine, j'écoute les oiseaux, les singes, le petit vent dans les feuilles de palmiers et la mer... C'est le top!
Cet endroit est beaucoup plus sympa que le centre de Santa Teresa, moins touristique, pour profiter de la nature mais avec toutes les commodités. C'est tout près de petits restos sympas et d'un supermarché, on peut tout faire à pied.
C'est super tranquille, propre et cosy. On a eu un accueil très chaleureux, le propriétaire Fernando est très sympa, il nous a mis à l'aise très rapidement et nous a bien conseillé sur tous les bons plans de la région...
En résumé une super adresse pour passer des vacances inoubliables.

Esperienza fantastica!
La struttura è nella spiaggia più bella di Santa Teresa, Playa Hermosa a cinque minuti a piedi si raggiunge un vero e proprio paradiso di onde perfette e sabbia dorata.
La casa oltre che una cucina funzionante ed un barbecue, ha anche una bella piscina in cui rinfrescarsi dopo la giornata passata in spaiggia.
Il proprietario Fernando è disponibilissimo, conosce benissimo la zona e da anche lezioni di surf!
Ottimo posto in cui soggiornare a Santa Teresa, consigliatissimo.
