The current Watch House was opened in 1838 by the Coastguards to control smuggling. Located at the heart of the beach, no boat could enter the bay or person move on the beach or harbour wall without being seen from the bay window. The Watch House stairs were built before modern building regulations and as a Listed Building cannot be changed. The stairs are steep and twist to the left at the top. Gorran Havens grande attrazione è la sua sabbia giallo dorato che ha caratterizzato il programma di costa BBC e piccolo porto. I bambini godono le delizie senza tempo di costruzione di castelli di sabbia, sbarramento del piccolo corso d'acqua e giocare nel mare. Un trattamento delle acque reflue moderno lavora con trattamento UV assicura le acque di balneazione conformi alle norme europee. I pescatori possono pescare dalla banchina o scogliere e gite in barca stagionali operano dal villaggio o Mevagissey.
