We chose this property to be out in the countryside, and boy did we get it right! Daphne, the owner was very helpful. We found eggs, butter, milk, and bread waiting for us which was a nice gesture that relieved some of the pressure to find a store ASAP. We had a great time rambling over the sizeable amount of property they have with beautiful fields and landscapes all over. I saw deer, pheasant, and rabbits. The house itself was very nice. It was perfect for the three of us. I would like to rent this property again in the future.

The Oast House is on a farm in East Sussex not far from the historic village of Mayfield. The photos on Tripadvisor really don't do it justice. The building is beautiful and the inside has everything you will need for your holiday. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery and utensils. The double bedroom is huge and the single has a pull-out bed for a 4th person. There's lots of garden space if you have children. The farmland is great for rambling and the cows even came right up to the garden fence to check us out! We also saw foxes, rabbits, birds of prey and a herd of deer. There is WiFi available which is great as we had little reception when out and about in this very rural area. There are lots of beautiful places to visit nearby and the Oast House was a real haven to return to at the end of a busy day. We really looked forward to our early evening walks around the farm looking out for the different animals and the lack of light pollution means it's great for stargazing in the late evenings. Daphne, the owner, is unobtrusive but is just a stone's throw away if you need anything. She left us a lovely welcome pack in the kitchen: bread, milk, butter, eggs, biscuits, granola, marmalade, tea, coffee and a huge bowl of fresh fruit. This was the first holiday my husband and I could spend with our son and grandson since the pandemic and we couldn't have chosen a better place to spend it! The Oast House is highly recommended and we would definitely stay again.

My partner and I spent a long weekend here for a quiet country getaway. This place was absolutely perfect with everything you could possibly need. It was cute and very comfortable and the little extras provided were an additional nice touch. It was a joy to come back to each day after our time spent out and about. We will definitely be recommending it to friends. Daphne was always just a text msg away to answer any queries. If you are looking for a quiet country break, this is the place to go.

We had a lovely quiet break in this beautiful, comfortable oast house. The accomodation has everything you could need and there are some very thoughtful extras in the kitchen, including a welcome pack. The oast's garden is lovely - peaceful and beautiful, with a delightful mix of trees and plants. It was really enjoyable walking around the farm and getting to know the cheeky young cows, who are very friendly and inquisitive. There is a lot of meadowland and as a consequence loads of lovely bees, butterflies and other insects. This is a really nice place to stay for nature lovers, I even saw a little herd if deer. I will definitely be booking the oast again.

We had a lovely weekend. Photos on website do not do the place justice it's just lovely and host left us some bits in the kitchen which was a lovely touch.

We rented this cottage as a base to visit family during lockdown. It was perfect as there is so much space that we could easily meet up outside. The garden is spacious and enclosed, so safe for children to run around. The cottage is much bigger than I imagined, and plenty of space for our teens to have their own 'corners'. Everything you need is provided and Daphne also gives a welcome package with local produce, which was a lovely surprise :) There are a number of lovely walks in the area - I would advise bringing a proper map because it's a maze of footpaths and Google maps was not much help!! My family visited us there (well, the garden), and were also really impressed by The Oast. We had a lovely time - thank you Daphne!

Feel relaxed and refreshed after being in Daphne's Oast house set in beautiful East Sussex. Our only complaint is we had to come home. This idyllic 19th century Oast house had everything we needed with nearby Mayfield providing daily provisions and Tunbridge Wells only 10 miles away providing everything else. We enjoyed walking around the local area, bird watching and star gazing . Would love to return one day to investigate inside historical places when more restrictions have lifted . We were blessed with the weather which helped enormously . Blue skies and sunshine greeted us every day. Thank you for everything,Daphne.

We had an amazing stay at the Oast. This was our intro to the English countryside and we had booked the Oast to complete our 10 day covid- self isolation after an international travel. Every window of the cottage gave us fantastic views of the countryside. The cottage itself is equipped with all the basic amenities you need - washing machine, kettle, toaster, oven, fridge, TV, microwave, WIFI and a modern hob. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and serve. It had a welcoming touch with the fresh bread and milk and hot cross buns kept for our use. The cottage is also well stocked with a collection of books and games for a rainy day. Daphne is a non intrusive host and available just a call away. We enjoyed our brief interactions with her when she would drop our mail or deliveries. Tips - Do pack your wellies for long walks in the grass. Car is handy for trips to the grocery store. We used Ocado services for grocery shopping as most of the others were not delivering to that postcode. Prebook deliveries as you may not get slots when you need them. Uber Eats, Deliveroo etc are not an option here. Overall we loved our stay and would definitely recommend it to our friends and family. In fact we are already planning a rendezvous with our friends from India when we are safe from Covid.

We had a lovely peaceful stay in this Oast house, no road noise 😊. It was lovely to sit in the garden late afternoon and read. Very handy for visiting many of the houses and gardens in the area, Hever Castle is well worth a visit and we enjoyed outdoor dining at cote in Royal Tunbridge Wells and the many cafes. Daphne left us to it, we saw her from a distance so knew if we had any issues we could contact her. The Oast had internet connection and a well stocked kitchen and we arrived to extras of wine, fruit and biscuits. We definitely recommend and would return as there is still so much to explore in the local area.
