We recently stayed here, the accommodation is great, very homely with lots of facilities. Tv's in every room great Wifi. 2 minute drive to the town, parking available. The owner is a lovely lady and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend a stay at this great place.

Family gathering
There were 9 of us, so this was perfect. 4 bathrooms, so no queuing!
Superb welcome pack comprising of all basics plus cake and wine! So we didn't need to find a shop.weather was hot so we used the gas bbq in lovely garden - this was a little greasy (possibly due to hot weather), but we just used foil trays. Only negative is the downstairs mattress on the 4ft single was "lumpy" - possibly needs replacing. otherwise we all had a great time - so nice to be able to get together with plenty of room and no one having to rush off!

Quaint Cottage - Ideal for Big Families
Let me start by saying I'm not a family man. However, I have been staying here with a group of archaeologists for the past few months and this is the perfect place to bring the family. It can sleep up to 16 so great for the kids and the aunties etc.
The house itself is split into various buildings with each as quirky and quaint as the other. In general it is a dream come true for those experience the area or Cambridge which is a stones throw away. I would recommend a car though as you need it to get about.
Fleur herself is lovely and is whom I dealt with on numerous occasions. The perks of living here are numerous from the idyllic location to the peace and serenity that the area provides. Overall I would recommend the place to anyone with large families as it houses plenty and couples if you want to just rent part of the accommodation.

Outstanding Vacation Rental House
My family and I planned a multi-generational party at this property for my mother’s 90th birthday. Some of the family is UK based, but many of us were coming from the States. Fleur and Paul massively went the extra mile to be sure that every detail was perfect. The whole gathering was a great success, and we were so pleased to have chosen this venue.
The house itself is very comfortable and all of us found that it had absolutely everything we needed. I would especially point out that the multiple en-suite rooms make for a great family gathering, hanging out together but without “too much” togetherness! It is truly a splendid property, and very conveniently located for many activities in Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire.
Finally, I would really give absolutely top marks to the Batemans. They are incredibly welcoming hosts who seem genuinely committed to doing everything possible to assure a wonderful stay at Whitehouse Cottage. I can’t speak highly enough of their hospitality. Incredible hosts.
Overall, if you need an accommodation that will suit a good-sized group, you won’t find anything better in this corner of England. I travel in the UK frequently, and have rented many holiday homes. I’ve never had as nice a welcome or a nicer home-from-home. I recommend this property enthusiastically and without hesitation. We had a marvelous visit (thanks to our wonderful hosts), and I’m sure any visitor to Whitehouse Cottage will feel very comfortable indeed. Rated 5-stars, A++.

Lovely well equipped cottage
We stayed at the cottage for a hen weekend, there were 8 of us staying over and the cottage was lovely, with modern bathrooms and cosy living areas. The cottage had everything we needed and along with the welcome pack provided much more than we had expected. The accommodation worked really well for us with 4 bathrooms and 2 living rooms. There was plenty of space, and with extra friends visiting during the day, comfortably fitted 15 of us. Fleur, the host, was brilliant at accommodating everyone and nothing was too much trouble. We had beauty treatments throughout the day from ‘the beauty room’ next door, which worked out perfectly for us, like having our own personal spa! Would definitely recommend the cottage, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Informal and friendly
Location good if you have a car. Near St Neots and Great Paxton for evening meals, pubs and sight seeing. Room was clean and comfy. Breakfast self service. Lovely sitting room and dining room fro guests. Free parking and wifi. Bathroom clean and good.

Hi and thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review of Whitehouse Cottage. We are just outside St Neots on the road to Great Paxton and as there are no footpaths a car is advisable. We have a really good taxi service that is not expensive for getting into St Neots. We hope to see you again sometime in the future.

Wedding weekend
Great stay at Whitehouse Cottage for ten adults attending a local wedding. Enjoyed drinks and games on the garden. Great and generous hosts Fleur and Paul cannot do enough for you.

We booked both cottages for our wedding party as friends and family were coming from many different places and we wanted to spend time with them and have the room to do so. In this respect the Whitehouse was very good and it was great to have the garden to sit in and celebrate the day. The cottages were clean and tidy however there were a lot of small niggles that need to be addressed. A lot of the party stated that the beds were not comfy with the small double bed in the large cottage in particular needing to be replaced. The cottages were showing signs of wear and tear (eg rips in the plastic tablecloths). The trouble seems to be that in the week the rooms are booked out to workmen who work locally in the area and then go home at weekends. I can understand that this is bread and butter income to the Whitehouse but they need to decide whether this is the avenue they wish to carry on down ie effectively a B&B or whether they wish to pursue the self catering cottage end of the market. To us the two do not mix. This was evidenced by the provision of breakfast items. When we arrived these were in both cottages and wrongly we assumed they would be replenished every day. It should be made clear. If you are self catering then why provide...if you are B&B these should be provided every day. The Whitehouse has lots of potential but it needs to decide what it is.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review of your stay at Whitehouse Cottage and Courtyard Cottage. We always welcome our guests and advise that if there are any problems whilst you stay with us to tell us straight away so we can deal with these issued quickly and efficiently. We live onsite so can act on this problems straight away. The booking you made with us was for the exclusive occupation of both cottages on a self catering basis. We advised when we showed you around the cottages prior to your booking that when we let the cottages out on a self catering basis we always provide our guests with a welcome pack which includes Bread, Croissants, Milk, Juice, Yogurts, Jam, Marmalade, Butter, Tea,Coffee, Sugar, Flowers, Cake and Wine. As you booked both cottages all these items were in both cottages. We also advised that there were cereals in the cupboards. We have had numerous clients so surprised that these treats are left for them when renting our cottages on a self catering basis. As your booking was for self catering and not bed and breakfast then these items would not have been replenished.
We are sorry that some of your party did not sleep comfortably. This was never advised to us at any time through out your stay. Our mattresses are changed on a regular basis and we always have medium support mattresses. Only today one of our guests asked where we purchased our mattresses from as it was the best nights sleep she had had for years. It is always hard to achieve everybody's sleeping comfort as you are not sleeping in your own bed.
Whitehouse Cottage was built back in the 1800's and is not a purpose built property like a hotel. We have a regular plan of refurbishment and re decoration of this property with the last major refurbishment 18 months ago.
We always try to run our property as Home from Home and do not treat our Bed and Breakfast clients any different to our self catering clients. We have a clear identity and always go the extra mile for our clients like allowing them to book in early and book out late. Welcome packs on their arrival. Receiving their shopping and putting this away prior to their arrival.

A very good cottage for a family get-together.
The location is rural, with the small town of St Neots and good shops a short drive away. Various tourist attractions and the honeypot of Cambridge are a little further. The accommodation is well kept and fine for a large family with children in tow. The kitchen, though a little small in the context of the number of bedrooms, has plenty of implements and so on, and can be used for making a large dinner for everyone. We had a great time.
