A lovely spot
A wild card pick of the i/net. Wanted to stay in this area. Took a few e mails to get booked. Owners map of rental made it easy to find as arrived late evening. A lovely, helpful, local lady showed us to the property and where everything was. In a very small quite village. on the side road to the village car park. The property inside is large for a one bedroom. Kitchen reasonable kitted out although washing machine did not work. Bathroom adequate. Bedroom was on mezzanine floor - watch stairs/hand rails. Comfortable bed, roof windows to allow cool air into building. Plenty of storage space for clothing.Follow on from the bedroom round the corner to a window/door to the outside seating area. Bit tricky taking food/drinks through. Here you have a lovely view across to vines and mountains. Gets very hot in the afternoon. Lounge area has seating and looks up at a full height ceiling. During thunder storms the roof in this area and bedroom leaks. Owners do know about this problem. Were able to visit Carcassonne, Cather Chateau's, The med, and various walks in the area. Village is a lovely friendly place. And please make sure you try Sandrine's wine. Locally made.

Thanks so much for your review. We're delighted you had a lovely holiday there. I'm happy to add that there is now a brand new washing machine fitted there, and we have plans to sort out the roof. It's very satisfying that so many of our guests have such a calm, peaceful and good holiday there!

Lovely holiday
We had a great time at Jane and Frank's lovely place. The hosts were perfect in that they were around to advise if we needed this but we were left to do our own thing. The hamlet is tiny, secluded and very peaceful. A main reason for choosing this venue was also that we wanted to explore this part of France. We particularly enjoyed the gorgeous river swimming at nearby Lagrasse (10-15 minutes by car), where we could also easily stock up on provisions and we wandered further afield too, not just nearby for walks but also to Narbonne by the sea etc.

Great break away in lovely quiet location
We stayed for a few days over Easter having got married the previous weekend. The quiet location, lovely views and superb Barn were just what we wanted. The standard of the accommodation was first rate and everything had been thought about - even a radio in the shower! We enjoyed eating in some days and the kitchen was very well equipped. The key hand over was straightforward and help is round the corner if needed. We even saw a Wild Boar in the headlights of the car on the way back from Lagrasse one night.

Get away from it all!
We chose this property as a base for exploring the Languedoc-Rousillon area, as well as seeing the Tour de France. It's an easy drive from Toulouse airport and close enough to the walled city of Carcassonne for a day trip. The Barn is beautifully appointed, clean, and perfect for two. Be prepared to be isolated - limited cell siervice - the very small hamlet has no businesses but is very quiet, just the beekeeper's sleepy dog keeping watch in the street! Lagrasse is the nearest big town, 10 miles away on rural roads. We enjoyed our day trips, to as far away as the Mediterranean a couple hours away by car, and after stopping to shop, we loved cooking at home in our barn. It provides everything you need, and though the owner was not in town during our stay, the landlady/housekeeper lives nearby and was very helpful when the washing machine didn't work! If you enjoy exploring the French countryside on your own, with its lovely villages and meandering roads, and are fairly independent and want to be away from it all, this is the place for you!

Thanks very much for your review. So glad you had such a good time! While the hamlet itself feels very remote, located, as it is, in the vineyards of Languedoc, it is, as you say, very convenient for several cities, mountains and beaches. Plenty of choice for out guests to relax or travel!
