Whenever we find somewhere as wonderful as this it's an internal struggle to tell others about it because you want to keep the good news all to yourself, for future bookings! However, Bryn and Val deserve to have it shouted from the rooftops! From the second we made our booking the communication and admin were superb and remained so. The gite is relatively easy to find but they are helpful with directions and details and easily on hand if needed. The location is gorgeous - up a little track fronting onto a quiet road, and with friendly goats as neighbours, who obliged with morning scratches on the nose. Despite the feeling of relative remoteness you're less than 5 minutes from excellent amenities in Callac in one direction and can indulge any need to get away from people in the other direction, with lovely lane walks past alpacas, as buzzards and kites soar overhead. It's a short trip from the gite up to atmospheric spots such as the beautiful little chapel to St Fiacre, a magical spot as the last rays of sunlight shine through the trees. The gite is excellently equipped for a week of self-catering and whilst it was too warm to light the fire when we were there, the wood store is well-equipped to stoke things up in the gorgeous inglenook. It was spotlessly clean on arrival and we had a warm and helpful welcome coupled with plenty of privacy throughout, whilst knowing Bryn & Val were on-hand if needed. Parking is plentiful, there's a table outside for enjoying some local Muscadet as the sun sinks, a CD player for playing Breton music as you cook lovely local produce, to get you into the local mood, and the fairly central location means most places in Brittany can be reached with relatively little effort. The fly-screens over the skylight are a brilliant touch, meaning you can enjoy the Breton air overnight without bug-chasing, and the owl in the tree outside was a much-loved companion as he hooted before dawn most mornings. Bryn & Val evidently have a lot of love for this place and it was a privilege to stay there and meet them, we cannot recommend it enough.

Wir haben mit der kleinen Familie eine knappe Woche in dem liebevoll restaurierten Manoir verbracht und können es nur warm weiterempfehlen. Die Lage ist wundervoll mit Blick auf den Feldern und von dort aus kann man sehr leicht die westliche Bretagne erkunden, sowohl die Nord- als die Südküste und natürlich auch das Landesinnere. Die Austattung ist 1A, u.a. die Küche - man fühlt sich sofort wohl und die Besitzer kümmern sich herzlich und unaufdringlich um ihre Gäste.

We stayed at the Gite for about 5 days it was very comfortable and loved the wood burner. It was very relaxing and quiet location. We had a very relaxing break I would highly recommend.

The location of this rental is great, central to many of the Brittany attractions. The accommodation, attached to the owners, is part of a restored manor, and has great ambiance. It has a nice outdoor sitting area. It is very tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped. It was nice to have a dishwasher as well as a washing machine! The owners, Bryn and Val, gave us a wonderful welcome, and were always accessible when needed. Loads of information on what to do and see. We, two “elderly” couples, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at this lovely Gite a few weeks ago (gone so fast) and had a very nice peaceful stay. Have to say the beds were really comfortable and exceptionally clean and tidy. The Gite is very quaint and tidy the extra things left by Val & Bryn were really thoughtful and appreciated. The Only thing they couldn't supply was a box for my husbands top hot LOL. Gite is situated in the center of Brittany with an hours drive from the north/south and west coasts so makes a perfect location,for exploring the area. Would love to return such a nice place.

In the rolling hills of Bretagne, just outside the friendly town of Callac, this place proved to be the ideal home base for various trips to everything there is to see in Bretagne. And it provides a welcome return when you're done; it has all the trimmings plus tons of atmosphere. We loved it.

We really enjoyed our stay at La Gite Au Manoir. The house is spacious and comfortable, with beautiful stone walls and a very well stocked kitchen. There is also a big garden behind it, where our 2 children enjoyed playing. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find a little "welcome pack" for us- milk, eggs and even wine! We used the gite as a base to explore the Cotes d'Armor region with day trips to Huelgoat, Perros-Guirec,Ile de Brehat, and even further afield to Quimper. The owners of the gite (Val & Bryn) live right next door- they were very friendly and always happy to answer our questions. We had a fantastic time at La Gite Au Manoir!

Abbiamo soggiornato per 8 giorni a metà luglio. La gite si trova a un minuto di macchina da Callac, un paesino che ha tutto ciò che può servire (supermercato, benzinaio, poste, banche, panificio, ristoranti ecc.) La casa è molto accogliente, ben rifinita e fornita di tutto ciò che può servire per la vita quotidiana come e anche meglio di casa propria... Bryn e Vale sono comunque molto disponibili e calorosi, ci hanno accolto molto gentilmente offrendoci un kit di benvenuto con generi di prima necessità. La posizione è centrale per visitare la Bretagna, mettendo però in conto di fare qualche kilometro per raggiungere le coste più estreme. Le strade sono buone e il traffico è comunque limitato. Un ringraziamento a Bryn e Vale per aver reso le nostre ferie indimenticabili dai loro primi ospiti italiani!

Le Gite au Manoir is all you could wish for as a holiday base. It is of high quality, spacious, bright, spotlessly clean, extremely well -equipped and very comfortable throughout, a joy to return to each evening or indeed to while away some hours of relaxation during the day. (Our visit coincided with the Olympics and the satellite TV was a real bonus and in our experience something of a rarity). Bryn and Val are very generous hosts and really helpful in terms of advice and information whenever requested. We have visited previously the various coasts of Brittany and they are all easily accessible from the Gite but it is also ideally located as a hub from which to explore inland and that was the main purpose of our visit to Brittany this time. There are nearby many places and sights to see and some lovely walks. Two particular recommendations we have are to go and wander through the 80 or so massive sculptures on the gentle hillside at La Vallée des Saints which are stunning and quite unique, a must see, unforgettable. Allow at least an hour to wander through them, we were there for two hours and could have stayed longer. The second is the moving Resistance Museum at Saint-Connan , (English texts), situated by a beautiful lake, followed or preceded by a tasty plat du jour on the lakeside terrace of the restaurant next door. These are but two examples of the range of options in the surrounding countryside. We would unreservedly recommend a stay at Le Gite au Manoir, it ticks all the boxes and more; well located and so relaxing, so refreshing, so complete.
