The villa is rustic. We are used to this having stayed in traditional style villas like this over the years. I don't agree that it was dirty exactly but some of the dishes needed to have a run through the dishwasher first.
It is true to say that the sunbeds were very poor. Again one was good and only one of us used a sunbed ( a party of two). I can see that would be a big problem if the villa was fully occupied. Buy new sunbeds of much better quality! As there were only two of us we didn't use the outside shower room. This wasn't an appealing space. The location is on a busy road. We are familiar with the area and knew exactly what to expect. For us the location was acceptable therefore. It was good even. Traffic noise is there, but didn't spoil our stay. The everyday visit from I presume the owner was disconcerting. Having read previous reviews when he was visiting 2/3 times a day, it would seem that he has reigned himself in a bit. However, his thumbs up ' muy buen' visit is unnecessary because if things were not, the contact details of the villa rep are on the back of the front door. He was harmless and I think he means well, but you book a villa with private pool for privacy. Even if there was a problem, unless you speak good Spanish, you could not have explained it to him. Some people love to have a neighbour drop by, and have that interaction so you would like that. The garden is lovely and private from the road. Overall because we knew what we had booked and know the area, we had a good time.
TIP: TELL THE OWNER TO UNDERSTAND THAT HE MUST LEAVE VIILA GUESTS IN PEACE.

Do not stay here - we left after an hour !
You can image our disappointment when we arrived at Villa Can Berenguer – we were expecting as described ‘an enchanting and traditional family villa which the owners take a pride in’
Unfortunately, this was not the case – the villa as described and shown in the marketing pictures could not be further from this – the pictures used are very out of date and have been taken using flattering lenses and angles – in truth the villa is very dated and in a poor state of repair – both the description and pictures are not a true and accurate description of the property in its current condition.
I will list the issues we noted on arrival
External
• Located on a very busy dual carriage road next to a roundabout – this was very busy and noisy – not ‘nestled on the outskirts of the old town’
• Overgrown weeds to drive - not ‘well maintained gardens’
• Large building next door which over powered the garden – conveniently not shown in your pictures
• An overpowering smell of sewage – I would suggest a problem with the property’s septic tank– which no doubt would become more of an issue during our stay
• The swimming pool was filthy – it had an oily film on top of it, was dirty and was so murky you couldn’t see the bottom
• The sun beds were ripped and very old
• The outside table and chairs are rusting
• The outside area to the rear – best way to describe this is ‘Step Toes yard’ with piles of rubbish and general debris
• The most disgusting and poorly equipped BBQ I have ever seen
Internal
• An over powering smell of damp – this combined with the sewage was very unpleasant as I’m sure you can imagine in 30 degrees plus heat
• Bathroom 1 – so small – I wouldn’t be able to stand in the shower, mould to tiles and grout, leaking taps, fittings dirty, old and not fit for purpose
• Bathroom 2 – this is not a bathroom – it is not inside the property – it is an outside toilet– with a basic shower fitted – the shower curtain was mouldy and the area under the whb as disgusting
• Crumbs and hairs all over the dining table
• Patches of damp and mould to numerous areas – including walls and ceilings
• Paint flakes over the floor from the ceilings in several rooms
• Cracking to walls and ceilings – with very poor historic patch repairs
• The fridge is rusting with mould to the inside door seals
• The kitchen was generally grubby
• Bedsheets stained and dirty
• Furniture is old and dilapidated
• Towels – worn and threadbare
• Washing machine – dirty
• Lightbulbs not working
• Ceiling lights hanging loosely from the ceiling

wouldn't use this company again!
Booked this villa with solmar with my family to Pollensa, Majorca. Was able to travel as government relaxed rules from 4th July. First thoughts were the villa was beautiful, stunning garden and pool area but sadly the inside of the villa needed some work, not a lot of pots, pans, and cooking equipment, the stuff that was there was dirty and needed replacing. Dishwasher didn't work properly, and kettle wouldn't open properly to fill up with water... villa was decorated well and looked like a nice authentic Spanish home but walls were peeling the paint or plaster off which didn't look very good. Also air conditioning only in the bedrooms, so couldn't really spend time in the living room / dining room. Air conditioning in 1 room needed replacing after 1 day as it was vibrating and shaking the entire villa, this was at least dealt with within a couple of days and solmar arranged for a brand new air con unit to be fitted. Another problem was sadly the uninvited guest we had appear every day. The owner of the villas came to the pool / garden area maybe 2-3 times a day unannounced to touch up the garden. I understand keeping the garden nice but couldn't completely relax as he would just arrive when he wanted! Sadly another main issue was the 2nd bathroom. It isn't made completely clear that the 2nd shower room is actually located outside the villa, so can't really use in the night without having to unlock to back door and shutters! Got a good Lidl at the end of the road but would recommend a car as walking 10 15 mins back with heavy water would be hard work! Also make sure you load up with bite spray as got bitten all over so couldn't spend much time in the garden area in the evening. The worst part which is why this is only 2 stars is sadly down to the end of the trip. We had contacted Solmar before leaving the UK to ask if we could upgrade to a late checkout (check out is 10am) and they said we would need to check with the local rep (Peter) the day before we were leaving. We did this and peter replied with a thumbs up and we took this as being able to stay later. Later on Peter text to say that head office had confirmed we had to be out by 10. We were annoyed and confused as we knew that no one was booked in for the time after us as we had checked online but they came back to say we couldn't stay because they had to deep clean, well I can definitely say that before we arrived nothing was deep cleaned! We only wanted to stay at the villas as it was the safest place to be as a lot of bars and restaurants were still closed and we weren't able to hang around at the airport comfortably for 5 hours as things were also closed. For this reason I wouldn't use this company again.

Hi Thank you for your review of, we are truly sorry that you have been left feeling disappointed on this occasion as we would have hoped for everyone to have enjoyed their villas. Our properties being subject to regular checks and we aim to provide the highest levels of service. So naturally we are disappointed to read your comments, to this we are most sorry to hear of the mechanical break down of the air conditioning and intrusion on the part of the owner. With regards to late checkouts, due to the current situation many of our suppliers are operating strict check in a check out times and whilst we would like to allow our customers to stay and enjoy their villas a little longer the ability to offer his facility is beyond our control. However we do thank you for your feedback and be assured that this has been passed to the relevant departments, so we can seek to make improvements to the property and our service where necessary.
We are sorry to read that you would not consider using our services again in the future, however given time we do hope that you may reconsider and we can look forward to welcoming you to one of our villas again soon.
