Outstanding stay in one of Cape Town's most luxurious hotel residences at a very affordable winter rate. One of a kind. We will certainly come back. Great room service as well.

Beautiful, plush city-centre accommodation with excellent service
This five-star hotel is situated in the city centre, walking distance from the Company's Gardens, parliament and buzzing Bree Street bars and restaurants. Upon our arrival (car whisked away and luggage taken to our room) the maitre'd was courteous and friendly and secured us a booking at the Haiku restaurant which is around the corner in Upper Church Street - a fabulous fusion of Asian cuisine which not to be missed for the foodies.
This specific apartment (unit 906) is on the corner of the building and offers beautiful city views including Table Mountain, Lion's Head and the foreshore from its long balcony. The furnishings are plush and decadent and patrons have a long list of luxurious pillow offerings available from reception should the Cape Town winter prove too cold to venture outside. The unit offers two televisions, a full kitchen unit, a small office, large lounge, Nespresso machine and a large well-equipped bathroom. Being a coffee consumer, the Nespresso machine and sufficient pods proved to be a nice touch.
We spent the early evening having drinks in the bar area on the ground floor where you have an almost-exhaustive choice of cocktails and premium wines on offer, in addition to the normal run-of the mill offerings. There was also a pianist playing the grand piano which tipped the atmosphere in the direction of old-world, hushed charm with the expected influences from the East. Adding thereto was the exquisitely apportioned cigar lounge replete with high-back chesterfield armchairs and a fully stocked humidor with Cuban- and other offerings.
Post-dinner our evening was concluded at the trendy Twankey bar for a nightcap where the staff were attentive and friendly. The bar also offes a bistro menu for those of us prone to develop a late-night appetite. The food was superb.
As is expected of a hotel in this range, slippers, robes and other nice-to-haves were waiting for us before we retired for the evening.
For the early risers the second floor of the hotel offers a gym with heated, indoor pool (accessed with your room's key card), sauna located in the changing rooms of both genders, some fruit, bottled water and reading material to begin the day in the proper way. It also houses the TAJ Club where one can enjoy a buffet-style breakfast and in the evenings a vast array of drinks are also on offer. The TAJ Club is a must if the bar area on the ground floor does not appeal to you or if your taste requires an even more luxurious atmosphere or extensive wine selection.
Lastly I would recommend a mud bath or other splurge from the equally extensive list of available treatments at the Jiva Spa on the first floor. These ladies are expertly trained and offer a world-class range of Spa services which would satiate even the most fussy of customers.

Perfect Location in Cape Town Central "My home was a Castle!"

Super Preis/Leistung! Wurde persönlich vom Eigentümer Herrn Herman Willemse im Hotel eingecheckt! Das Apartment (83 qm) besteht aus Wohnzimmer, Schlafzimmer, einem Marmor-Bad und einen Balkon mit Blick zum Tafelberg, Lionshead und zur Stadt.
Hotel vom Allerfeinsten, klassisch, edel aber nie überladen oder aufdringlich. Absolut zuvorkommendes Personal, angefangen vom Doorman über Concierge, Frontoffice bis zu den Pagen und Damen des Housekeepings! Schnelles Internet, gratis, Schuttle zum Tafelberg und Waterfront, gratis! Von der Ankunft bis zu meiner Abreise war es der absolut perfekte Aufenthalt jemals in einem Hotel, das Letzte Highlight war das Airport-Shuttle mit dem hoteleigenen Range Rover und Driver Rayan. Gerne hätte ich TAJ APARTMENT 906 mit nach Hause genommen. "My home was a Castle!"

This is the perfect place to stay in Cape Town!
We needed to be in Cape Town for 11days, and so I decided to look for an apartment, but having had some friends book through Air B&B and have their accommodation canceled a week before their travels I decided that wasn't for me, and so glad I looked elsewhere.
The luxury and amazing service of the Taj Hotel in Cape Town has to be seen to be believed, every day we were greeted by the staff, and always in a kindly and professional manner, when it rained, an umbrella was offered, when my husband wanted to buy me flowers, one of the wonderful staff accompanied him to the flower market, we loved the fact we had a fabulous apartment within the safety of a very well known hotel, in the heart of a vibrant city, close to amazing restaurants, and just a uber away from the V&A, we had maid service when we wanted it, at our own expense which suited us perfectly, as my husband was working every day from the apartment, and so we had no interuptions. The apartment, the view, the location make this the perfect place to stay, oh and the restaurants at the hotel were amazing!

Perfect apartment, the best place to stay in Cape Town
This is as good as it gets in Cape Town - the benefits of all the services of a true 5* hotel, central location, and a huge luxurious impeccably clean apartment with far more space than the best suites in the place, better views in every direction, your own large balcony. Beds are comfortable, linens top notch - water pressure and temperature in the very large bathrooms always good. You can do your laundry with the personal washer-dryer, or have it done for you by the hotel, preapre meals or order from room service, step down to have a meal at the restaurants on site or have room service. Breakfast is not included in booking price, but you can add it on (do so in less busy months, definitely do not add it in peak periods like Xmas or New Year - as it is a zoo and service is overwhelmed). The hotel is very busy and was sold out through the end of the year, but our apartment felt like its own world, quiet and perfect. We loved watching the clouds go by the mountain every evening, and the kaleidoscope of color changes from the large windows. The eateries in the hotel are not consistent in quality depending on how rushed they are and how many guests demanding food, so again, the service and food quality is likely linked to time of year. Rita at the desk is simply marvelous, a top notch professional. The concierge staff and doormen are all very helpful. The area can be very questionable even during daytime, but everyone will tell you this - and you just have to be a far more careful than your average similar city downtown area. Safety in any part of Cape Town is in general a nightmare, but the hotel is its own oasis. Just be alert and enjoy the magnificent city. We loved every minute at the Taj.
