After a long journey * travelers usually get out of their vehicles ready to go through to their rooms. 70% of all our travelers have this reaction : Climb out of their vehicles, walk towards the big heavy sleeper wooden doors but - they "stop" on their way, some look around in awe, others just listen, some as if they want to touch "it" seeking for the words to describe what they experience : Tranquil, peaceful ..... City noise, Air traffic is far from our ears Is it possible that we left the main road only 5 km from here and we are 'lost in a country/bush escape? The journey continues as we walk through the Doors, over the Mosaic carpet: Petach Tiqvah, a Hebrew quote for: The Door of Hope. Here we prepared a place for ALL travelers to be refreshed, rejuvenate & be inspired. Just to mention the owner Susan Valentine found African Silhouette as a dream that came true, it is a Lifestyle where she lives every moment to make other's dreams come true - even for just providing a SAFE, place to overnight. - A guesthouse with a difference - imagine to sleep in a place that was an empty piece of ground, a seed like a dream that was planted and grew into a guesthouse, (with lots of hard work and planning with the travelers needs oozing out into preparing comfort) where creativity, art, texture of material such as bark, wood, tree trunk, outside showers symbolizes her heartfelt desire to bring people back to Nature and Nature into all occasions. After all - it is in Nature, where we find inspiration, peace, little miracles where birds, flowers & the indigenous trees tell it stories of hope, faith, and love. The Rooms are all with a private entrance, a secret garden with its outside shower & garden to boast the wonderful African Sky, starry night showers & to sing without raising the roof. Indoors the rooms have a corner bath, hand basin, toilet hidden behind a big beautiful tree trunk. The luxury of DSTV is available. Often we find guests who just want to get away from everything, to enjoy peace, quiet, to journal, write, do photography, paint in the garden - a place for everyone is created at African Silhouette Guesthouse Retreat & Gardens "The Boma" - Guests Outdoor Cooking Experience starts HERE. The ambiance is amazing and grows into a relaxing visit around a roaring campfire for groups who are in transit. It was a Missionary Group who thoroughly enjoyed themselves, guitars, singing, praying on the next day into Africa - they were a JOYFUL bunch of guests. Tranquility

What I love about this place is that it feels like you've been away and you coming home. And the response is the same. The rooms are wonderful and the little things she tries to do to make you feel comfortable is amazing. Will keep coming back for more.

We found Susan online and I have to say I couldn't ask for a better place to stay!! From the rooms to the food to the lady herself who now is a dear friend you know your home when you come to african silhouette! !!!
