Great Stay in Plovdiv
We stayed in this house for 10 days, and couldn't asked for much more! For 3 of us staying there, there was so much space in the house with each of us getting a separate room. The 2 bathrooms were very useful when we were in a rush to go out, and the living room area had plenty of space. The Balcony became a favourite place to sit out in the sun eating breakfast, with room and seating for us all to enjoy being out there. The house is in the perfect location for a stay in Plovdiv, right in the quiet old town with plenty of places around to eat/drink or local shops. But only a ten minute walk to the town center. Chavdar was fantastic to us, we arrived close to midnight and he was there waiting to greet us. When we left early morning he came to the house to say goodbye and make sure we were all set. He was happy to help us plan any days out and organise tickets, and also drove us up the mountains for a day trip. He is always a text away if anything is needed. Thanks Chavdar, we would love to come back!

The house and landlord are wonderful!
Our family of seven (two parents and five children) spent three months in this great house in the old part of Plovdiv and we loved it. Chavdar is a fantastic host and made us feel so welcome. The house is within walking distance of Roman ruins, Plovdiv's Revival-era old town, museums, art galleries, restaurants, etc. It's really an ideal location for getting to know Plovdiv, one of the world's oldest continually inhabited cities. The house is large and comfortable and has beautiful natural light. We loved the terrace and courtyard, even in the winter. We loved hearing the bells from the church nearby. We had a great time and we'd love to come back someday, hopefully in the summer.

Staying at Philipollis house
We had a very good time in Plovdiv at this house. I recommend it to everyone who wants to travel around. It is very comfortable and is located in the heart of the town with its historical houses and museums. It is very near from the city centre, about 10 minutes walking. The owner is very friendly and helpful.

You feel like you are really living in a bit of history!
The house is located right in the heart of the old town. Our two young boys (4 and 6) easily rode their bicycles almost every day from Charlie's house to the Pedestrian Mall and Fountain in front of City Hall. The house is walking distance to everywhere you would want to go in Plovdiv. To say it is centrally located is an understatement -- it is in the exact center of Plovdiv. It is near parks, restaurants etc. The house itself is a piece of history. Although it is a classic structure, it is well furnished with reasonable amenities for a family of 4 staying for a month. The fact that is has air conditioning is critical - because Plovdiv gets really hot in the summer. But...as everyone says..the best part of this house is Charlie. We stayed in Chavdar's (Charlie) house for a month in June 2013. We come to Plovdiv every summer for 3-6 weeks and we have had experience with many rental properties and many landlords. Frankly speaking, most Bulgarian landlords are obnoxious. They treat renters like intruders, and nickel and dime their renters for every little fee. Charlie is different. He is friendly, relaxed, easy to do business with, and he bends over backwards to keep his renters happy. He is a good guy.

fantastic experience
I stayed at this house in Plovdiv for about two months and it was far beyond my expectations. I was looking for someone place both interesting and relaxing, which is what brought me to the city, and this house could not have been in a more ideal location. The immediate surroundings are peaceful and beautiful, but with just a few minutes of walking distance you can access several different active neighborhoods. This includes the historic regions and also the metropolitan areas. You will want to stay forever. The owner of the house goes well out of his way to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. I did not have any problems with my stay, but even at the mention of minor things, like needing a new lightbulb, I would turn around and there he was with a box of light bulbs :) He is quite charming and will also give you excellent tips about the city and plenty of laughs. If you are going to Plovidv, just drop Chavdar a line, and everything will go quite smoothly from that moment on. The youtube video is a perfect match of the reality of the house. As far as I'm concerned, if you can't get the philopollis, go to Sofia, and come back when its free. Thanks for everything Chavdar. I miss Plovdiv already, and I can't think about Plovdiv without thinking about the philopollis house.

Beautiful house, charming host
The house is spacious and beautifully appointed. The owner was really charming, leaving fruit for us and letting us enjoy the grapes from the vines in the courtyard. The house is centrally located but on a quiet residential street. So difficult to find a better deal in Plovdiv.

The best place to stay in Plovdiv.
The best part of staying at Charlie's place is Charlie. He charms everyone, and he is a wonderful host in every respect. The house is great too. It is really quite spacious so that five of us had plenty of privacy when we wanted it. You couldn't ask for a better location; right at the entrance to Old Plovdiv. On the hottest days, we were cool and comfortable. The courtyard is pleasant for morning breakfast, and the grape arbors were filled with delicious grapes for us to snack on. Our bedrooms were air-conditioned, and all of the appliances worked great --- even the internet. In the evening, we sat out on the rooftop deck drinking wine under the stars. There is a supermarket and farmer's market within walking distance, and a great restaurant under the trees at the top of the hill where it is easy to find a table and a great view of the city. We hope to return.

Philipollis House : the old Plovdiv charm and the owner's sympat
The reception was perfect, thank you to Charlie for his good humor and sympathy. The place is great. The house combines charm and comfort. To know Plovdiv, the value for money is much better than a hotel. I highly recommend the Philipollis house. A big thank to Charlie!

A traditional house in the centre of the old town. 
We really enjoyed our stay at Philipopolis  House and despite temperatures falling well below freezing outside we remained warm and cozy inside. The shower was powerful and there was always lots of hot water. One night we visited a local restaurant recommended by Charley ( a good variety of dishes and yummy pizza) but most of the time we were happy to stay in and self cater. The wifi was reliable with a good signal throughout the house. Although the cold weather meant that we didn't use the outside areas I'm sure the large terrace and garden are lovely in the warmer months. Our stay was enhanced by the warm welcome given to us by Charley. He was an excellent host full of useful information and local knowledge. He was even kind enough to collect us from the bus station and help us with our bags - thank you Charley.

Amazing place
We have stayed for three nights in this great house. The place is very close to the historical center of Plovdiv. The owner if the house is very friendly person. Most of all I liked the tasteful way how the house looks like.
