We have just returned from an excellent week here. From the time of my making an enquiry, through the booking process and to communication thereafter Anđelka has been extremely responsive, informative and helpful, often replying to emails within minutes at all times of day. In fact I can definitely say she has been the most efficient and responsive property owner I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. She was there to meet us on arrival and gave us lots of useful information on places to visit and where to eat. We ate at 2 restaurants in the street she recommended and both were excellent. We found the apartment clean, spacious, well-equipped and comfortable and the modern kitchen area pleasant and practical; no microwave, however. Lighting in all areas is good. We never felt any need for the air conditioning even though the weather was very warm. The large bed was comfortable but it occupies most of the bedroom so there is little room around the bed, which might be a problem for very large guests. There are masses of wardrobe space. The bedside lamps are good, often not the case in rented properties. For the first 2 nights we tried sleeping with the window open but were repeatedly woken until about 2am by very noisy people passing in the street below and then from 5am by the continuous “screaming” of hundreds of circling swifts. Thereafter we left the window closed and heard virtually nothing, the soundproofing being quite remarkable. The bathroom is small but adequate and, if the immersion heater is left on, there is a good supply of hot water. The lack of a wall bracket for the shower head was a minor irritation and something which could easily be addressed. We were surprised that the TV is a small, old style CRT but, given that there are very few programmes in English, it wasn’t an issue for us. As we didn’t find the stereo unit mentioned on the Owners Direct page and we had brought CDs, I emailed Anđelka about it. To our surprise a portable stereo unit was delivered by her mother 10 minutes later – very impressive service! It delivered a good sound quality so we were very pleased. The WiFi worked flawlessly and was quite fast; it never once dropped the connection and was fast enough for stutter-free use of the BBC iPlayer (i.e. radio only as TV isn’t available abroad). It was good to be able to listen to Radio 4 News. The location of the apartment is excellent, being so close to the port, bus and train stations, promenade and wonderful old town and yet it is relatively quiet. We felt we couldn’t really have found a better location. We were pleased we hadn’t rented a car as parking would have been a nightmare and public transport is excellent, though not cheap. Due to the minor reservations mentioned above I feel I can’t award 5 stars; 4½ would be appropriate if the system allowed it. However, I have no hesitation in recommending the apartment. L'appartamento e piccolo ma dotato di tutto il necessario. Affaccia sulle mura esterne del Palazzo di Diocleziano, quindi è a due passi dal centro, senza l'inconveniente dei rumori della vita notturna spalatina. Appena fuori c'è il mercato di Spalato dove si può comprare tutto il necessario mangiare (la cucina è perfettamente attrezzata. Perfetto per singoli o coppie.

This large apartment is exactly as described. Located just outside the old city walls it is a perfect place to be based for sightseeing in Split. We arrived in Split after a week on a boat, so it was fantastic to have a washing machine and plenty of space to dry our clothes. Andelka greeted us on arrival and was very helpful with what to do, places to see, etc. All correspondence with her during the booking process and prior to our arrival was also excellent. The WiFi is not the best - it only worked intermittently, and better in the bathroom/laundry than any other rooms of the apartment!

Clean, compact and functional apartment just outside the wall of Dioclatian's palace. Our experience was first class from the start. We were collected from the airport by a friend of the owner which made getting there smooth and efficient. On arrival Angela's mother was available to provide us with the key, so no standing around with suitcases. The apartment's position can only be described as first class as it is nearby restaurants, bars, the market and museums. It's a short walk to the foreshore. We also recommend using the driver as a guide to explore some of the nearby National parks. Vinko was an excellent and reasonably priced guide who speaks fluent English. The apartment accommodates two comfortably, four at a 'pinch' if you use the sofa.

The apartment accommodated the 4 of us as a group. Though there is only one bedroom but the sofa bed in the living area is able to accommodate another 2 people. The house is clean and tidy, newly renovated. Utensils are plenty. The host Angelka is really great in helping us even we are only staying for 1 single night in terms of recommending the places where we could go. Very flexible host as we made various changes of meeting time due to some out of town activities. The apartment is very close to the old town areas so it is very convenient.

The apartment and its host where both wonderful. The apartment was clean and spacious and in a brilliant location in the centre of Split. Angela herself was a great host she picked us up from the airport and took us to the apartment and pointed out a few local hotspots to visit. All in all and very pleasant experience and highly recommended.

Beautiful location to get to ferry docks, Riva, inner city, groceries, all within 5 minutes walking. Fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer. Good wifi and excellent stations on TV. Close to Green market and grocery store in inner city. Close to museums to walk to fine art and city museum. Great apartment for short or long stays. Location is the best to be able to explore the city.

Lovely one bedroom flat, with all mod cons, walking distance from everything, reasonably priced and a helpful host. Would highly recommend :-)

Large apartment easy to find in a central location and easy walking distance to bus station and esplanade. We had luggage and only 10mins walk on flat ground to apartment. Up two flights of stairs but hardly an issue. Located just outside one of the entrances to Diocletian Palace and restaurants. Noise not an issue does not travel through walls and closed windows. Modern apartment fully equipped with comforts of home. Sleeps three very comfortably. Lovely hostess who met us in the apartment and provided a run down on the main tourist attractions and places to eat. Would highly recommend.

Apartment Angel was a great place to stay - it really is in the town center right across from one of the entrances to Diocletian's palace. There is also a green market in the area, a small grocery store for shopping, and various other stalls outside the apartment selling souvenirs. Once you walk outside, it's just a few steps to the entrance of the Palace. It is also within walking distance from the bus station and ferry ports if you are coming from somewhere else. It's a very busy area, but the street is very safe and quiet at night. The apartment was a little hard to find at first but we had a cell phone and Andelka guided us to the apartment. She is great with communicating before and during our stay; she is quick to respond to emails and text messages. Upon arriving, she also gives you a summary of where everything is in the vicinity of the apartment and how to get to various sights. She also offers suggestions for her favorite places to eat. The apartment is in great shape - updated and very modern unlike other apartments we have rented before. All appliances are new and run well. This was her former apartment so she has take really good care of it. She will go over everything in the apartment with you and answer any questions you might have at check in. Note that there are no elevators in this apartment building, so keep that in mind when you decide how much to bring on your trip. I would definitely recommend renting Apartment Angel if you want a clean, comfortable, and convenient place to stay during your visit to Split.
