Our apartment is on the 3rd floor of a grand and elegant 19th Century building very close to Galata Tower. It's characterful, graceful and homely, with stunning views right across the Golden Horn from the shared roof terrace a few floors up. We also offer a selection of 'experiences' with our local guides, to help you build your own genuine and memorable perspective on the city. Please be assured:- We follow the new World Health Organisation guidelines for Covid-19 cleaning and housekeeping.- It's possible for you to self-check-in by retrieving your keys from a lockbox.Alternatively, if you prefer, our manager can greet you. He understands and respects social distancing. Our apartment is on the third floor - three flights of original marble stairs - of a grand and elegant 19th century building very near to Galata Tower. The building entrance is on a characterful cobbled street, packed with intriguing boutiques and cafés. A few floors up on the roof-top, a shared terrace has gorgeous views across Golden Horn to the Old City. It’s about 3 minutes walk to Sishane metro station, less than 5 minutes walk to Tünel funicular and a short downhill walk to connect with the tram for Sultanahmet. Famous Istiklal Avenue is less than 10 minutes walk up the hill. The apartment opens into a welcoming hall. The living room with flat-screen TV and comfy sofa is right next to the dining room, adding up to a versatile area for relaxing. The bay windows in the living room overhang the characterful street below: great for people-watching. There are two double bedrooms, one of which has a stylish en-suite shower room. This same bedroom connects to the third, small bedroom, ideal for a child or close friend. All bedrooms have high quality crisp white linens. The additional family bathroom is spacious with a large shower. The kitchen is contemporary, chic and well-equipped with high-end appliances including dish-washer. This apartment is 130 m2 in total, with lovely vaulted high ceilings retaining original frescoes. A few of the walls have been stripped back to brick that gives a cosy atmosphere. The bedrooms comfortably accommodate five people. Guests will have the complete privacy of the entire apartment. The roof terrace, shared with all apartments in the building, is available for your careful use at any time. In the same building we also offer three other apartments. The two or three apartments booked together are ideal for a large group. This is a small Turkish-British family project. Julia and Tarkan used to live in Istanbul then Singapore and are now balancing life between England and Istanbul. If we're in Istanbul during your stay we'd love to meet you. Your questions and booking will be handled by us wherever we are. When you arrive in Istanbul Tarkan’s wonderful family and/or our friendly team will welcome you to your apartment, give you the keys and explain about practicalities and the neighbourhoods. We’ll all help you as much as you need and we're only a phone call or email away. Galata has a genuine, very welcoming and diverse community with an intriguing mix of cafes, restaurants, small grocery shops and artistic boutiques. Elegant 19th Century buildings line cobbled streets, with discoveries waiting around every corner. No matter where you wander, you’ll always find your way back to Galata Tower, which has been a well-loved landmark for the last 700 years. Metro, bus, tram and ferry stops are all only a couple of minutes’ walk away. You can be in Sultanahmet (for the big sights of Ayasofya, Topkapı, Blue Mosque etc.) in about 12 minutes by public transport or 20 minutes on foot. In the other direction, by Metro, you can be in Şişli (for Istanbul’s biggest shopping mall) in 10 minutes or Levent (for Istanbul’s business district) in 15 minutes. There are many taxi ranks around and some secure car parks too. Will your stay with us make a difference? We hope so… By self-catering right in the local community you’ll quickly become part of it, financially supporting small grocery shops and other family businesses. You’ll soon make relationships with these friendly people and develop a genuine understanding of the culture around you. We’re sure you’ll leave with special memories and more developed perspectives as a result of your encounters. For each confirmed booking we arrange a tree to be planted in Turkey (via TEMA) to offset part of the carbon dioxide emission from the resulting flight. We encourage you to plant more trees: easily arranged during online booking. We use local maintenance and cleaning services for the apartments and in this way we provide a good income for 2 families who lives nearby.We do everything we can to preserve all the original features and materials in the apartments. Where new materials are needed we source them locally, prioritising products that are designed and/or made in Turkey. Our apartments are uniquely situated amongst mosque

Istanbul and Istanbul Place was an incredible experience!
We stayed a few days in one Apt. and due to the COVID19 outbreak we were unable to go to Amman, Jordan. As such, our Istanbul host was great at helping us find a place for the remainder of our vacation week. We had an excellent time visiting all of the tourist spots. Istanbul is one of the greatest cities I have ever visited. The people are kind and caring and the city exotic and mysterious. The food is outstanding and the customer service amazing!

One of the best locations in Istanbul
It was a great pleasure to stay at Julia and Tarkan's flat in Istanbul. Very clean and stylish. Location is perfect! Highly recommended ))

Awesome Apartment, Very Clean, next to Galata Tower.
An awesome apartment, very clean, very close to Galata Tower and very easy to locate by google map. Surrounded by restaurants and shops. Great view of the Golden Horn and Galata Tower at the shared terrace. Apartment is fully furnished and all the necessary kitchen utensils and basic condiments included. There is also soap for the washing machine. 2 Istanbulkarts are included for guests to use after topping them up. (Istanbulkart is a card for fare payment on public transport in Istanbul). A useful diary in the living room for guests to write and suggest tips for places to visit, restaurants or food to try. Host is very responsive with messages. Manager, Mr Taskin is very pleasant, helpful and very quick in responding to our calls. The only inconvenience is there is no elevator. Overall, two thumbs up.

Tarkan' s place was delightful. Fabulous location, great views (equal to the next door Galata tower without the long wait), tastefully furnished and excellent local restaurants tips that never failed to please. We hope to return

Very nice place to stay!
very close to all visit sites, and the host is very helpful! the room was very nice, clean and with beautiful view through window. besides, the view on terrace is excellent! we had a very great time here, really enjoy the stay!

Excellent location and wonderful service
An incredible place due to its central location right underneath Galata Tower- the interior was spotless and had all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

Perfect spot in a beautiful city!
This stay was amazing! The apartment is so beautiful and the location is superb for the Galata area. You cannot beat the views from the rooftop terrace. We had a wonderful time hanging out up there. I will definitely come back here the next time I return to Istanbul!

Breathtaking Apartment
The apartment was beyond perfect! Better than any 5 star hotel experience. Spotless clean with literally everything you might need, breathtaking views, and incredible interior decor! Super responsive and helpful hosts, highly recommended!!

First class accommodation in a great location
"A great stay. Wonderful location, we saw all the main sights on foot. The roof top terrace views were spectacular. The local manager Taskin was a friendly and professional host. We took the option of our host organising our airport transfer - seamless! "
