L'hiver réserve de belles surprises sur l'alpage enneigé de Velika Planina ! Un paradis pour qui veut partir randonner raquettes aux pieds ou à ski à travers de somptueux paysages de montagne avec des panoramas époustouflants sur toute une partie de la Slovénie. Et tout cela rendu possible grâce à l'accueil extrêmement chaleureux de Rok. Le chalet que nous avons loué était à la fois rustique et confortable coupé du monde, à plus de 1600 mètres d'altitude. Un lieu hors du temps et de l'agitation de notre monde où l'on retrouve toutefois tout le confort moderne à condition d'accepter de faire l'effort de marcher au moins un peu dans la neige. Pour nous, c'était parfait ! Encore un grand merci à Rok pour toutes ses petites attentions qui font toute la différence et rendent ce lieu encore plus agréable. Je recommande vivement et je reviendrai avec plaisir, pourquoi pas à une autre saison ?

Rok was a very welcoming and accommodating host. The cottage is truly beautiful, confortable, very clean, with all needed equipment. And if you forgot something, or ran out of anything, there is possibility to purchase drinks and food at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend staying with Rok if spending some time on Velika Planina.

We had a very pleasant stay at the cabin. Rok is a super nice host, very helpful, welcoming and enthousiastic. The surroundings are beautiful, definitely recommended if you love the mountains! The breakfast was tasty and the little store is super useful! Just one thing that was missing: bedside tables with a night light.

We went to Velika Planina for a weekend trip with the family and enjoyed the stay in Koca Ojstrica very much. The cabin is newly renovated and fully equiped. We highly recommend it!

Great vacation! The cottage is very large, clean, well maintained, probably better equipped than many homes. Definitely order a homemade breakfast - it's GREAT! For frozen people, there is a stove that heats the room quickly, but you can also heat up in the sauna. The cottage is located only 3 minutes below the top of Velika planina, it is worth sacrificing one morning and watching the sunrise. There are also many hiking trails in the area, the chairlift is near and the pub is only a few minutes away. Great experience! The owner is also extremely friendly, always ready to help and full of advice if you want. I recommend!

Our family decided to take two-days city getaway and visit Velika Planina for the first time. Location is amazing by itself and worth a visit - I suggest one or two night stay. Koca Ojstrica is perfectly equipped and you will find everything you'd need here. We liked the fact that all basic things (sugar, coffee, salt, oil and similar) were there free of charge. In-place shop has reasonable prices, includes basic food and drinks, so there is no need to bring too-much food by yourself. Property is great mix of cottage style mixed with modern touch, to complete great experience I suggest booking sauna (comes with additional charge) to relax after a long day hiking. All compliments go to great host, which was not only super-friendly but also very flexible and was willing to move our staying for day due to bad weather forecast without any objections. Velika Planina is the place we will visit again and for sure we will stay in Ojstrica once again!

We've stayed in Koca Ojstrica in late June (my family, our dog and my mum). I had this cottage in my mind since first (day) visit to Velika Planina and decided back than that I want to stay here longer. Temperatures in valley/cities were above 30◦C (86◦F), so we literally escaped from the city heat to beautiful mild summer temperatures (+20◦C). There were few chill mornings after one rainy night, so we turned on underfloor heating (yeah, such a luxury and comfort!). We didn't used great-looking sauna, but it is on "to do list" for next time. My mum slept in big bedroom, and my family in the attic bedroom. Such a fun for kiddo! My balance was a bit rusting climbing up the ladder at first, but the next day I could do it blindfolded :-) Since smart packing is really recommended, we used breakfast service (if you prefer home-made yogurt, cheese, bread, ...) and planned to use what is available in cottage’s self-store (yeah, another luxury!). Instead of letting bread being brought to us, we went every morning for to shepherd's cottage (Pastirska koča pri Gradišekovih) for a walk and pick up bread. Weekend mornings they even serve fresh baked "flancat" (type of fried pastry). My kid loved it, we had to go two days in a row there for his breakfast. We really enjoyed food made by shepherds and Slovenian traditional food in restaurant "Zeleni rob", so we didn't have really a chance to cook by ourself (although kitchen is perfect). The ‘shop’ has almost everything you need to cook a decent meal. My recommendation: stay at least 3 nights, especially if you are a hiker or just prefer to enjoy amazing landscape and beautiful view from this cottage. It is so beautiful, that we even had some day-visitors coming to terrace. People came for a photo-shooting, while a cow, well, probably came just for sweet grass :-) Host's (Rok) hospitality is beyond words, really. I've never encountered such an excellent service before. Better than “Hotel Mama”, I say! Not to mention, that even our dog was treated like royal: got its own bed! We will definitely will come back again. I prefer summer time, although winter time might be magical as well…

We have spent a really nice weekend in cottage Ojstrica, Velika Planina. The cottage is very clean, spacious, and fully equipped. The location of the cottage is amazing! When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the host. Rok was all the time very responsive and helpful, he provided us all the information we needed.

We have spent 3 days in the Ojstrica cottage. Amazing time for parents and kids. Cottage provides with everything you need for relaxing and stress free family getaway. And if sth is missing (which will not happen:)) Rok is always on the reach for you to feel like home. p.s. Best views you can wish for, amazing sunrise and sunset from your terrace. We will for sure return to this amazing place and we recco it to anyone travelling to Slovenia and visiting Velika planina.
