The accommodation is situated in a beautiful location in the rather large town of mellieha, and shares stunning views of the nearby sea along with the islands of Gozo and Comino. It is located very close by to multiple shopping outlets which was of great convenience during our stay. The villa is well equipped with everything needed for a luxurious stay in Malta not to mention the amazing hospitality and personality of Mr.Fino who was available to help out and answer any question if the need arose.

Santa Maria Estate is an amazing location. Very well located villa close to all amenities and at the same time away from the hustle and bustle. Lots of parking available outside the villa. I would love to come back in summer. Seraphim is very polite and helpful.

Having never visited Malta before we needed a base near to Ghadira as we had a diving package booked with a local company. The Haven is neatly tucked away off the main road through Mellieha with a great view across the bay and out to Gozo. It is a 3 minute walk to the ValYou supermarket which has everything you need for a self catered holiday. The bus service is also excellent up and down the island and at €2 for a single ticket regardless of distance it proved good value too - you can purchase travel cards from certain outlets allowing 15 or more journeys if you intend to use the bus a lot - this is better value than cash payment on the buses who will only offer the €2 ticket as a walk on customer. The Haven is deceptively big and the photos on trip advisor do not do it justice. 3 of the bedrooms have air-conditioning as does the seating area in the kitchen - if you visit mid-summer this will be an essential. We loved the pool area - it was a great place to sit and enjoy the sun and gentler temperatures in the evening. There is normally a gentle breeze across the pool area which makes some of the hotter days bearable for those who struggle with the heat. The pool is a good size and there are toys and lilos on site (presumably left by other guests). However, it is in need of a bit of care with lots of tiles coming loose especially in the shallow end where the jacuzzi pumps appear to be dislodging the tiles on a regular basis. The Villa itself was comfortable but quite dated and again in need of some TLC to bring it up to modern standards - whilst everything was functional the general feel was one of a tired property in needs of a refresh. The showers lacked any really power and there was a choice between very hot or cold water when showering - fine if you like a cold shower in hot climates like me but for the kids this caused some difficulty. The washing machine also seemed to have a 'hot' setting regardless of the programme you chose so if you do visit here be careful what you put through the machine. Serpahim the owner is a really nice guy and very attentive leading up to and during our stay, meeting us at the villa on arrival. he made himself available at the end of the phone although we didn't really need to call upon him while there. This villa has clearly been the family home at some point and much of the family furniture and decor remains. Would I recommend - I guess I would but don't expect UK standards for bathrooms, electrics etc etc. Its probably a little high on price for its condition but with a bit of a refresh and re-paint it could be an absolute gem.

The Villa is in a Residential area, its very quiet and hardly any traffic, 5 mins walk from a Bus stop to take you to Buggiba Bus depot, where you can go anywhere on the Island. Plus a well equipped new build supermarket. The Villa its self had a tired and lived in look, by no means about to fall down!! If it is modern luxury you are looking for then i would advise to think carefully. The villa is well equipped with cooking utensils and above the normal cooking pots and pans requirement, as the 6 of us used regularly. The pool and outside area is a must, we stayed during the August Heatwave and came away believing we were fish. Hehe We put the Air-condition on for most of the time when we arrived, that is pre-paid via the owner, it can work out expensive if not careful with its use of all three units running all day. we soon learnt! The owner greeted us on arrival and showed us where everything was and how to use things, he was always on call when we needed his assistance. Overall myself and 5 guests would have no hesitation in re-booking another stay at the Haven.

The Haven is situated in an excellent residential area that is convenient for good shops, restaurants and nearby beaches. Nicely maintained swimming pool and gardens compliment the extensive accommodation. Easy access to the ferry for Gozo and boats to the beautiful Blue Lagoon on the isle of Cumino. Nothing was too much trouble for Seraphim, the owner. Ideal letting for large family or groups of friends. Thanks for a great holiday Seraphim.

The villa was brilliant, well equipped and large enough for 4 couples to share without being on top of each other. The swimming pool was a lovely bonus after a day of sight seeing. The views from the Haven are fantastic and the owner Fino very friendly and easily contactable. We all had a wonderful holiday, would definitely go back.

We came to Mellieah for a family wedding and wanted to stay somewhere where we had space and felt comfortable. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. The villa is huge and made us feel, instantly, at home. We arrived in the early hours so the key was left for us. The villa was clean and had a family feel to it. Fino came to see us and really could not do enough for us. He offered to book us rental cars and also offered to take us to the supermarket for supplies. He gave in depth details of things to see around the island and looked up ways to make it easier to get around. He then left a trolley for us to carry water and supplies back the following day. The supermarket is a few mins walk and provides everything you could possibly need, there are also other shops, stores, near by to purchase anything you missed. My family had a fabulous time here and we would definitely come again. The only issue we had was the weather, which fino could not control. The villa provided great comfort, despite the weather (so very hot). The buses are great as they have air con. We went to St Paul's bay but definitely made the right choice of venue as we found St Paul's bay to be a little too much tourist like and Mellieah is much more comfortable for families. The beaches are better too. The pool, which in the 11 days we were there, was looked after 3 times. We felt safe that our daughter was swimming in a well serviced pool. We, as a family, like to eat together and not always eat out. The kitchen has, absolutely, everything you need to cook for a family and I enjoyed making meals and sitting together to eat. We did not make use of all the eating areas in this villa as there are many..!! If you like your own space when going away with other family members then this is the place for you. The four bedrooms are huge and provide everything you need, 2 of which have ensuite bathrooms. There is even a toilet and shower around the pool area. There are also some inflatables, which our daughter made use of. All in all I would highly recommend this place and we will return as this place has everything you need whilst on holiday and more. We can only thank fino and his family for making our holiday, a holiday to remember 👍

Lovely location and beautiful house. Quirky and interesting with a great pool and fabulous view. Plenty of outside dining options and and a workable kitchen, plenty of room for eight guests and nice bedrooms with ensuite although they could do with a refresh on the bed linen and towels.

We have stayed at the Haven three times now and although it may not be the most up market of properties it is very comfortable and in a lovely position. The owner couldn't be more helpful and the property is within walking distance of shops and restaurants. We have booked for 2016.

Stayed for just over a week in Nov/Dec. Had struggled to find a property with private pool at relative last minute and took a gamble with the Haven. If you are looking for modern, sleep, plush interior this property is not from you being very traditional in style, furniture and décor, quite obviously the family has previously lived here and there are lots of personal photos and possessions. However for us we found it extremely homely, an excellent base for exploring the island and somewhere to relax. Very warm welcome from the owner on arrival despite the kids being excited after cooped up in car/plane/car for many hours. Very close to small supermarket at the top of the road and whilst close to bus stop we had a car but would be a good base regardless. Well equipped kitchen albeit a little old-fashioned but more than adequate for our needs. Despite being a little cold we still got the enjoy the pool and the Jacuzzi bubbles in the pool were very much appreciated by our children. A little tired in places, but nothing to spoil our enjoyment of our holiday. Great week - thanks!
