Such a superb villa, beautiful position with amazing views. Also very comfortable beds and relaxing atmosphere! Massimo was always helpful and friendly , and gave us good advice on where to visit and eat. Would definitely recommend !!

What a wonderful time our party of 6 had here at Villa Katerina! Vico Equense is such a beautiful place to stay and Villa Katerina right down on the docks of this quaint fishing village. A beautiful home cared for by Massimo and Anna who love their guests and treat you like family. They were so helpful to us in getting us places and arranging an all day tour with Stefano of the Almafi coast (highly recommended) And then an all day boat excursion to the Island of Capri with Marco (also highly recommended). Enjoying the experience of eating fresh seafood off the boats on the dock in the evening. This was by far the best experience of our stay in Italy. A beautiful place to stay with plenty of room to roam in and wonderful people. Thank you Massimo and Anna for your part in an amazing trip.

I will not be able to say enough about our week at Villa Katerina! It was wonderful! Our hosts Massimo and Anna Caterina thought of everything - we were able to immediately start our vacation! Their home is situated right along the water on the lower part of the Village of Vico Equense. All our needs were met from wonderful restaurants, supplies & the most important-great cafes for coffee! All were an easy walk! The home was so comfortable for the four of us. Lots of room to relax inside and out. There is a peaceful garden area in the front of the home with lemon and olive trees and a Sea view from the partially covered outside balcony! Just perfect! If you would like a challenge-you can hike up the path to the main village for shops and lots more food! We did it! 😅 I was sad to leave but I know that if I wander that way again that is where I will stay! Grazie Signor & Signora Di Luca!

Villa Katerina is delightful. Charming, well equipped and with a wonderful terrace looking over the sea. There are several restaurants and a shop within walking distance. Naples and Positano/Amalfi were half an hour by car. Massimo could not have been more helpful and even managed to get us tickets for the opera, which was an amazing experience, pure opulence. Those of a less nimble ability should note that there are a number of steps to reach the villa, but for anyone else it is perfect.

Party of 6 English people looking to enjoy Italy, and this was the perfect base from which to do that. The Villa itself was very pleasant to stay in, and the terrace overlooking the harbour was the place to enjoy the setting sun. It is very convenient for travel into Naples and to the Amalfi coast. Visited Positano twice as we really loved the place.

The villa was exactly what we wanted - we were a party of 6 adults and it was spacious, light, cool and well appointed. The terrace was the star of the property - overlooking the Bay of Naples, it was a fabulous place to just sit, relax and enjoy a glass of wine. Massimo and Anna were wonderful - they were there to meet us when we arrived and were a mine of information. They could not have been more helpful. They provided us with a few essentials to see us through until we got to a shop, including bread, butter, a bottle of water, some fruit and toiletries. However, they were not intrusive and left us to our own devices but were always on hand if we needed them. My son and his friend wanted to play golf one day and contacted Massimo for his advice on where to play - although he didn't know, he researched it for them and even phoned the course to get all the information they needed such as green fees and hiring of clubs etc. The location of this villa is perfect - it is in a lovely little marina with a couple of restaurants right on the water, just a short walk away - Mustafa's was particularly nice. There is also a pizzeria which does fabulous pizza and they do takeaway too. There is a small shop right by the entrance to the villa which is very well stocked with everything you will need to get you by - milk, orange juice, bread, cold meats, beer etc. Gianni, who runs it, is also a mine of information and very friendly. On our first night there we bought pizza from the pizzeria and beer from Gianni and sat on the terrace - perfect. It is a short walk to Vico Equense, although it is all uphill, so be prepared for a climb! It is well worth it though because Vico is lovely and there is a fabulous ice cream shop and bakers as well as restaurants, bars, and a supermarket. We got the train into Pompeii from here. It is also easy to get into Sorrento and I can recommend a great fish restaurant there called Porta Marina - not much to look at but I had the best swordfish I have ever eaten there. We had a fabulous holiday and could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at Villa Katerina in July 2016 for a week. The house is beautiful, airy and spacious, set in a lovely garden of orange and lemon trees, but it is the large terrace with a stunning view over the Bay of Naples that steals the show! Massimo and Katerina are very welcoming and a mine of useful information to help you get the most out of your trip. The house was spotlessly clean and it was the little "extras", like a well stocked wine fridge and welcome pack that helped get the holiday off to a good start. The house is ideally located too for easy access to Sorrento, Naples and the Amalfi Coast, and there is a good array of local restaurants and shops within walking distance - you can do as little or as much as you want! We would definitely stay at Villa Katerina again!

My family and I had the most amazing stay in this villa. Massimo and his charming wife went out of their way to ensure that our stay was perfect. The accommodation is so clean and homely, the view from the terrace is to die for especially the sunsets! There are a number of good bars/ restaurants within an easy stroll. We would recommend the climb up the 221 steps to Vico Equense for lovely delis, bars and restaurants. Trips to Sorrento and Pompeii very easy via the local train. We will 100% be back. Thank you Massimo for some lovely lifelong memories!!

Fiche “Villa Katerina Great Terrace on Sorrento Sea Coast” Séjour 6 jours fin Octobre 2015, deux familles soit 7 personnes Description La description sur le site trip advisor est conforme. Emplacement L’emplacement est tout à fait correct. La maison est vraiment à deux pas du port. Il faut compter 15 minutes à pied pour aller au centre-ville de VICO EQUENSE et 10 minutes pour aller à la gare la plus proche qui est SEIANO. (Attention presque 100 m de dénivelé avec un chemin raide pour la ville) Il y a plusieurs restaurants sur le port et il est tout à fait possible d’aller diner à pied en 2 ou 3 minutes. Logement Le logement comporte 4 chambres, 3 salles de bain, une cuisine, une salle à manger et un coin salon séjour. En plus une grande terrasse équipée avec table, fauteuils…. et avec vue imprenable sur la mer et le port L’équipement est complet et de qualité (four, frigo, congélateur, grille-pain, lave-vaisselle, lave-linge, TV, lecteur vidéo…) ; Le wifi est de bonne qualité (testé seulement au petit déjeuner et en soirée). Il y a aussi un jardin fruitier (agrumes) et une zone parking fermée. Accès handicapé difficile voire impossible. Pas d’info sur les animaux de compagnie. Attention, chauffage par gaz non inclus dans le tarif, mais il y a peu de chances que le chauffage soit indispensable. Propriétaires Les propriétaires sont Napolitains et louent leur maison que l’on peut appeler secondaire. Ils sont serviables, sympathiques et donnent plein de conseils sur les boutiques, restaurants, sites à visiter... Attention ils semblent maitrisent mieux l’Anglais que le Français. Transport et déplacement locaux: La zone subit une circulation intense. Pour aller à Herculanum et surtout Napoli il est fortement conseillé d’utiliser le train Circumvesuviana (Napoli entre 45 et 1heures pour centre-ville en train, impossible en voiture et galère pour parking). Navette bateau pour Capri dans le port. (Attention aux horaires, fréquence faible) Notre avis Beau logement dans un beau cadre. Position intéressante pour visiter aussi bien Sorrento, Capri, la côte Amalfitaine, Pompéi, Herculanum, le Vésuve et Naples et j’en passe certainement. Nous avons eu un petit problème de remontée d’odeurs dans la salle de bains du bas. A priori selon les propriétaires, c’était lié aux travaux dans le port qui modifient les évacuations. L’intensité des odeurs dépendait du vent. A voir comment cela évolue dans le temps. Conclusion Si le problème d’odeur est confirmé comme étant temporaire, ce logement est à conseiller. note:4.5 sur 5 à cause des odeurs

This was really a 4.5* vila but I cannot give it that rating. A nicely furnished villa with a great kitchen/dining space which is important to our family. Amazing views over the Bay of Naples and comfortable rooms. Massimo and his wife, Anna Katerina, were very welcoming and spent a lot of time helping us orientate ourselves and they answered questions all through the week via whats app - that was invaluable and made us feel very welcome. they also helped us identify some gluten free restaurants ahead of our arrival which was very helpful. They are really kind people. All the necessary amenities (washing machine, dishwasher, TV, Sky TV set, microwave, internet etc etc). The villa was perfect for our family of 2 adults and 3 kids aged 12 and under - it does have a 4th bedroom with a shower but if there were another 2 people in the villa it would feel a bit small. The veranda with views over the Bay was lovely. A few things which would have helped make the villa 5* for us would have been a few extra kitchen things such as slightly better cultery (I am being a bit picky), some chopping boards and a few more glasses/plates. Also some advice on how to keep the mosquitos at bay - there were not many to be fair, but they were a bit annoying and I got bitten most of the time, although I suspect are not around in Summer or Winter. Also it was not apparent that we needed to pay extra for electricity - it was not much but would be better to be listed, especially as the aircon would be used a lot in Summer. The marina/harbour was fun for the kids and the nearby beach (5 mins walk) was good enough if not particularly special - the water was clear but the beach was not very nice as it was a bit littered. And the location was great with easy access by car/train to Pompeii, Herculaneum, vesuvius, Naples and then by car south to the Amalfi Coast, Salerno and further.
