Wonderful place not to be missed!!
Our stay in Della Gegna was perfect!! A magical place in the middle of wonderful landscape, including woods and fields and little lakes, we had a perfect get-away. Its setting is unique: a stay in quaint and lovely decorated hiatorical houses in front of a beautiful historic villa, with views all over the countryside. The private lake allows for the perfect cool-down on hot sunmer days and you have a relaxation experience like nowhere else. At the same it is is very close to Spoleto, my favourite town in Umbria with great restaurants, ppenty of history and culture.
I highly recommend a stay in Della Gegna if you are passing by Spoleto!

Magical Della Genga
Our 4 nights staying in the Torre Colombaia apartment at Della Genga was the highlight of our 3-week road trip in Europe. It was truly a magical experience. We loved the ancient buildings, very comfortable living arrangements, stunning views and landscape, the swimming lake, bike rides, location, privacy...all four of us, including our 11 and 14 year old boys agreed - it was the best ever. We already miss it and can't wait to come back. Having the sweet company of Luna and Alto, the smart and lovable farm dogs, was an extra special treat.

Hot Sun of Umbria
This property exceeded our expectations and we had a thoroughly relaxing two weeks in the tower! Two (pleasant) surprises were the lovely spring fed lake for swimming and proximity (with private access!) to the Spoletto - Nocia bike trail (highly recommended with its tunnels and galleries - bring a flash light). Luna the village dog also dutifully escorted us back from the parking to the house each evening. At 4km from Spoletto you are far enough above the valley to keep cool in the summer evenings, but also close to all the amenities in town. If you go, do visit Norcia and beyond - the Monti Sibilini are well worth the trip for a day.

Absolutely perfect!
Our stay at Della Genga was perfect for our extended family (4 adults and two children aged 9 and 12). We loved everything about the property. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful views, superb accommodation, bike riding (bikes supplied), swimming in the lake and walks in the surrounding countryside. Luna, the gentle dog, was a big hit with the children. Close to Spoleto and within driving distance of Assisi (a car is recommended for your stay). Excellent restaurants nearby. A perfect place. We hope to return one day. Absolutely outstanding!

A magical place
A magical place, although perhaps not for the faint of heart North American traveler. High in the Umbrian countryside my wife and I arrived at what we were pretty sure was the correct tall stone and iron gate, although it refused to open when we drove onto the pressure plate. Our Canadian Wind Mobile phone was not working, as has been the case on several recent trips to Europe. Thank you Wind Mobile. I am beginning to feel like Charlie Brown and the football. A friendly neighbour answered the intercom on her gate and called Lorenzo, the proprietor and owner of the Della Genga property. He arrived at the gate with profuse apologies and escorted us up the long narrow winding gravel road to a magnificent villa with a truly spectacular view of Spoleto in the valley far far below. My wife and I were staying in the Torre Colombaia unit - 3 bedrooms, living room with a wonderful huge stone fireplace, well equipped kitchen, dining room and bathroom. It would have easily accommodated our whole family, and we may well have to return next year. The estate consists of 200 acres. A wild boar was shot on the property while we were there. Exploring on foot and with the free mountain bikes which were supplied, we found our way to a small ruined chapel, dating from the 1600s. Exploring the dim interior, ancient frescoes painted on the walls started to emerge from the shadows. We knew that we were in a different time and place. It was a wonderful spot and an ideal base for exploring Umbria and Tuscany. Our four days were up all too soon.

Ruhig, traumhaft schön
Wir haben uns sehr, sehr wohl gefühlt in dem exklusiven und doch ländlichen Ambiente der Ferienwohnung. Komfort und wohnliche Ausstattung der Räume, verbunden mit fantastischer Aussicht von der Wohnung, haben schon den Aufenthalt in der Wohnung angenehm gemacht. Das riesige, private Areal bot Gelegenheit Ruhe und Entspannung zu genießen. Zu Fuß und per Auto gab es viele lohnenswerte Ausflugsziele. Die Aufnahme und Betreuung durch den Besitzer war herzlich, hilfsbereit und unaufdringlich. Dieses Domizil ist unbedingt empfehlenswert.

a lovely italian retreat
We ended a ten day stay in Italy with a relaxing 4 nights at Torre Colombaia - It was just the rest we needed.
The apartment was situated on beautiful Italian Estate with some amazing views/landscape.
During the day we spent our time either sunbathing/playing tennis/visiting near by towns or best of all enjoying the amazing lake which was very close by. If you're feeling up for it, there are some beautiful running routes to enjoy onsite.
We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to attend the Jazz festival in Spoleto - which was not only an incredible town to visit but an amazing festival to experience.....highly recommended!
The apartment itself was beautiful, typically italian, very clean and had wonderful views of the landscape.
Our Hosts couldn't have been more welcoming, very friendly and more than willing to help with suggestions of things to see/do nearby.
Definitely recommend a stay, relax and enjoy!

Great experience
We had a fantastic stay in this wonderful and very peaceful estate. Everything is stylish, unique and welcoming. We swam in a private lake and had great tennis games!

Best holiday of my life
I spent some time in August a Torre Colombaia with my wonderful husband and we really enjoyed the staying there. I relaxed while my husband, who is very active, played tennis, golf, fishing. We had splendid walks in the property which offers the greatest landscape and wildlife. At the sunset we had a glass of wine on the terrace that overlooks the vale where there is a lake and at that time of the evening wild boars, cinghuieale in italian, gather there to have a swim. These frames will be in my memories for the rest of my life and I will thank for ever my beloved husband for taking me there.
