18 indimenticabili giorni trascorsi all'ombra di un carrubo dopo esser tornata dalla spiaggia che dista 5 minuti a piedi. Qui ho trovato tutta la solitudine che volevo ma anche la compagnia dei vicini, la campagna con ulivi, palme e alberi da frutta, ma anche la possibilità di visitare Palermo raggiungibile con meno di un'ora di treno dalla vicina stazione ferroviaria. Consigliatissimo a chi viaggia da solo perché qualsiasi problema può essere risolto con l'aiuto del proprietario Dario sempre disponibile e presente se occorre. Ma soprattutto è l'ideale se avete un cane, qui potrà stare con voi tutto il giorno libero anche in spiaggia grazie anche alla tolleranza dei Siciliani, che non ha pari.

This cottage is a unique garden of olive and lemon trees. The beach is close by, but the cottage is a haven to relax, read and cook outside away from the world. Dario is a great host making certain all is well.He protects this ecological domain with the help of 2 lovely dogs. Near to historic Céfalu and the hills behind where there lovely villages.Best holiday for years.

We loved the character of the cottage, set with a few others amidst the fruit and olive trees - not isolated but very private. The beach was at least a kilometre long, sandy and almost deserted while we were there, at the end of the season. Dario is charming and very helpful. The cottage is furnished in a homely style (like being in someone else's place rather than like a hotel) and there is plenty of everything and it was all clean and all worked. We arrived after rain so there were mosquitos, but there was netting over the windows. Fresh fish delivered to the door some mornings. Good restaurant just a hundred metres down the beach, or a few minutes drive to Cefalu which is beautiful. Parking by the beach 5 euros for 12 hours. Palermo is less than an hour by train from Cefalu - easy to get tickets from the machine at the station, lovely views and nobody hugging your back bumper.

From the moment you arrive at Darios place you immediately feel relaxed and at peace. This is more than a holiday rental it is a home from home. The grounds are beautiful with oranges, lemons, figs, grapes and olives (depending on the time of year). The place has a natural beauty to it that makes it very special. There are several cottages set in the grounds but each is spaced a good distance from the other so you have privacy. The beach and sea is just a two minute walk down a track lined with olive trees, when on the beach there is beautiful views of the mountains and to sit on the beach and watch the sunset over the water and mountains is the perfect start to your evening. Cefalu is just a 20 minute drive away and is a lovely town for wandering around it's many shops, eating out or just sitting and having a coffee and watching the world go by. Dario is a fantastic host and nothing is too much trouble, it is clear to see that he enjoys sharing this beautiful part of Sicily with his guests. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Een prima plaats om te verblijven. Dicht bij de zee, heerlijk buiten douchen, hartelijke gastheer, mooi buitenverblijf. Kortom een aanrader.

Excellent location - quiet and peaceful yet easy access to main roads; railway station a 10-15 minute walk. Pizzeria 5 minute walk; supermarket 5 minute drive. Well equipped cottage with direct access to beach. Whilst there are two other villas in the grounds they are all separate and well screened. Dario is very friendly and helpful and fluent in English.

We stayed in Carob Tree Cottage for a very enjoyable week - it's one of 4 properties on Dario's estate, but none are close by so it feels private. Dario is the perfect host, and very friendly. Speaks excellent English, and also patient enough to let me practise my basic Italian! The cottage is small, but perfectly comfortable for 2 people. It's quite 'rustic' inside, but has everything you need. The patio/bbq area was lovely, and lots of welcome shade under the carob tree. We spent most evenings having dinner outside, with music playing quietly - bliss! The real 'plus' point, of course, is the beautiful sandy beach at the end of the pathway. It was never busy, certainly not on the weekdays. A few more people there at weekends, but never felt 'crowded'. Sun umbrellas, chairs, were all by the gate as you walked through to the beach and you just helped yourself. Small boats as well, but we didn't try those (was quite windy most days!). Cefalu is a lovely town - yes, touristy, but quite charming restaurants along the seafront. We had a lovely romantic meal on our last night at Kentia restaurant which has a terrace overlooking the sea - worth calling in to pre-book a table if you particularly want the terrace. We also visited Mount Etna - if you're not going to walk up to the top (we didn't - too hot!), then it's definitely worth taking the cable car plus the 4x4 jeeps to get as close to the top as you can (this was an extra €57 per person, but would be a shame not to experience it if you go all that way...). Practical points - you are able to use the washing machine which is outside next to Dario's house, so you don't have to disturb the main house. Good WiFi signal from the cottage. Although it mentions satellite TV, there are no English channels (in case that's important to you!). 5 minutes easy drive to large supermarket, and also easy to drive into Cefalu - once if you go into the town, turn left down to the seafront, turn left, you'll see a huge car park which is €5 for the day - much easier than trying to park on the street. All in all, an excellent value rental - not luxurious but definitely more than comfortable for the price. The kitchen is well equipped, although would have been useful to have an oven and/or microwave - but 3 gas rings was just about enough! BBQ outside made up for it. The shower in the bathroom is a bit basic - wetroom style, with just a curtain round you, and the floor got soaked every time! The weather during second week of September was just perfect - sunny, with a spectacular storm on one day. (It would really help if Dario were to put the names of the various houses on the main gate, as we only spotted it because of a 'to rent' sign with his mobile number on it, and we put two and two together!)

We had an amazing time in Carob Tree Cottage. We were very glad to spend our holiday in Cefalu. Really, it is the best place in Sicily for family holidays. We are very impressed with the cottage, its location, olive and lemon garden and also by the magic sea and the beach. Our granddaughter loved the plantation and collect lemons. The owner, Dario, is extremely helpful and was always there for us if we needed any help, or had any questions about where we could go and what local foods to try. A great place to stay. Conveniently close to sandy, quiet beach. But only a few miles drive to the beautiful town of Cefalu. Dario the owner was so helpful, right from enquiry and all through the holiday. We would certainly recommend it.

Beautiful place! Quiet, private place few steps from the beach, surrounded by trees and a olive orchard. A nice, mostly sandy beach few steps away and a beautiful Cefalu just a few minutes by car. Owner is friendly and helpful. Looking forward for my next time there.
