My husband and I stayed here for a week in May 2016. The apartment had everything that we needed for our stay. Breakfast is provided, and there is a coffee machine. Daniela had left us a bottle of Rosso Piceno had baked a lovely tart for us.
There are some great restaurants in Ascoli and we tried several of them, but most nights we were happy to cook at home. Daniela showed us where to get fresh pasta, and the supermarket gets fresh seafood everyday.
Ascoli Piceno is definitely a town worth visiting, with what must be one of the most beautiful piazzas in Italy. Unlike some other reviewers, we didn't have a car during our stay but that didn't restrict us in seeing some of the surrounding towns like Offida (Cui Cui wines) Daniela and Peppe met us at the train station, I had researched the trains for day trips but didn't end up using them during our week long stay.
There was a lot to see explore in Ascoli, and the nice thing about staying a week or longer is you don't feel compelled to 'do things'.
We took a taxi to see the little town of Castel Trosino ( although a local bus does come here) and then got the taxi to drive us to Valle Castellana for lunch. We had heard that 'Scuppoz Ristorante' specialises in mushrooms and was well worth the visit. It did certainly not disappoint! At the end of the meal, we called the taxi to drive us back to Ascoli - €40 total.
We found out during our stay that Daniela and Peppe had lived in our home town of Adelaide, Australia for a couple of years, how incredible to meet them in their home town of Ascoli Piceno.
We loved Ascoli Piceno and would definitely return.
Grazie Mille Caterina, Daniela and Peppe .
