Guests are not allowed to smoke in the house. Please use the garden and dispose of your cigarette ends in the ashtray provided.
We don't charge a cleaning fee but we ask you to leave the gite in a clean and tidy /good state with the dishes done and put away, the bed linen stripped. All bins emptied and taken out to the wheelie bins on the front courtyard.
All Exterior doors must be locked when leaving the building.

Can’t recommend highly enough
Just returned from our second visit this year. Accommodation is spotlessly clean, well equipped and extremely comfortable.
Location is in the peaceful Normandy countryside and very convenient for the many attractions in the area.
Ruby Labrador loves her visits!

We stayed here and found everything to our satisfaction and as advertised.
The gite was clean and tidy, nicely furnished and accessible with a good dog friendly environment.

Beautiful gite and wonderful owners
Beautiful gite close to some lovely attractions such as Mont St Michel. Spotlessly clean accommodation, lovely gardens and grounds. We stayed with our dog. Nothing too much trouble for the owners Katherine and Shaun who were really knowledgeable of the area and such a lovely welcoming, friendly couple. We fully intend to return again soon. Thank you both for making our trip away such a delight

Stay here as a cleaner!
We booked via Airbnb. We provided a kind review to our host on Airbnb as we did not want to ruin a small business but the kindness was clearly not reciprocated as the owner left a scathing, exaggerated and unfair review of us as guests. This is the reason we are leaving a review here to warn people of what to expect of these "hosts". If you want your grandma to nag you - stay here. If you don't, don't.
Right from the start, the husband was downright grumpy and acted as though he was doing us a favour by allowing us to stay at his property. No greeting, only that we were ever so lucky that he had some cooking oil for us (despite this being listed on Airbnb as being supplied!) Thank you kind lord for providing Dobby with cooking oil! The house is littered with instructions on every walled surface - it felt like a youth hostel. Cheap wallpaper and shoddy workmanship.
The owner's review was petty and unprofessional and stated that her cleaner was shocked at how we left the place. I am shocked and think your cleaner should get a new job as to "clean" is literally in her job title. What was required after we left was LIGHT cleaning at the most. To be clear - yes there was a SMALL bit of cooking droplets on the stove, the sofa blanket and cushions was removed as it STUNK and I did not want to have to touch it again and the bedding was not removed as there was no bag to put this into. We have no doubt that if we had just removed the bedding and left it in a pile this would also be a complaint. The dishwasher was not emptied as why would a guest be expected to empty CLEAN dishes to that degree. ONE greasy pan and at most a cup in the sink is hardly reason to defame us as guests. I have no doubt the "hosts" would say they have photographic evidence but it is sad really. We are not as petty / malicious as their home was not clean when we arrived. A full hoover of human hair was on clear display which was disgusting. Dust and cobwebs everywhere. Lawn not moved.
The owner neglected to mention we left the toilet clean, emptied the rubbish bins.
Catherine and Shaun, please consider if this is the right profession for you or if you would be better off running a youth hostel / training camp. Guests should not be expected to clean to the level you require i.e. to be your cleaner. Thank you for ruining our experience of France. I now understand why you have chosen to stay in such a rural location - clearly human interaction is not your forte.

We are sorry that you felt it was ethical to write such a false review.
First of all, you gave a three-star review on Airbnb for cleanliness with Accuracy, Location, Value, Check In and Communication as 4 & 5 stars, in particular with communication being a 5 star.
Now on Google you have given 1 stars, that shows major discrepancies with your review ethics.
Very rarely, but an issue might arise, but there are no issues that cannot be addressed quickly and easily. However, you did not mention any problems during your stay, which meant they could not be put right for you. This is despite the numerous messages you sent me. The only thing you mentioned was that you wanted some cooking oil, which you were brought immediately.
Despite there being a bottle left for you in the under counter cupboard.
We pride ourselves that on Airbnb alone we have 145 great reviews and over 200 reviews collectively. The cleaner is constantly being complimented and given 5 stars for her hard work.
It is strange that you did not mention any issues which could have been rectified at the time, but instead only mention them 7 days after you have left the accommodation. Nor did you mention any issue with my husband's communication in fact you gave 5 out of 5 for communication. It doesn't make sense.
When my cleaner arrived, she telephoned me straight away, asking me to come and see the state of the place. Yes Mari, I do have photos of just how bad it was.
I am not going to respond to every point raised as we both know they are untrue.
As we don't charge a cleaning fee, we ask guests to respectfully leave the gite clean and tidy and this is adhered to by 99.9% of our lovely guests. You chose not to do this and the review that was left for you was 100% accurate for future hosts to see.
Your comments and insults have been duly noted and passed on to the relevant authorities.
I think anybody reading your comments will see them for what they really are.

Fantastic spacious gite
We had a very good time at Foxes Farm. We stayed with six people and one child in gite 1. The gite is very spacious and fully equipped. There were even games and toys present. My little nephew really liked that. Owner Catherine had even set up a baby bed and high chair for him. We cooked deliciously in the large kitchen. And enjoyed dinner on the sun-drenched terrace. After that we enjoyed the evening sun in the lazy chairs that were present outside. Catherine made sure we had everything we needed including tea, fresh milk and coffee on our arrival. There were even fresh eggs from her chickens.
All our bedrooms had their own bathroom with toilet. That was very pleasant. We found the biggest plus to Foxes Farm that we had our own garden at our disposal. The large garden was fenced off so that our nephew could play football and we had a lot of privacy ourselves therefore. In the garden we really enjoyed the peace and views of the countryside. Including the grazing cows behind the fence. It was a pleasure to see them up close.
We have been away from Foxes Farm for a week now but often think back to our great time there. This gite is definitely recommended. Also because there are many attractions nearby. Le Mont Saint Michel, for example, is half an hour's drive away.
Have fun at Foxes Farm!

Lovely gite
Lovely stay and a fantastic holiday, the rooms were great and spotless and had everything we needed for a great stay, I forgot to bring my hair dryer but there was one provided which was great. The beds were really comfy I had a great night's sleep throughout the stay, the surroundings are really peaceful and at night the stars are beautiful to sit outside and watch. Catherine and shaun were amazing hosts who went above and beyond for us and even left us some fresh eggs for our stay. There is plenty to do in the area with St james about a 10 minute drive away to do some shopping and see the beautiful church, you can visit Saint mont Michelle which is a lovely day out near the beach and can even have fun go karting on an outdoor track. The local supermarket had everything we needed for some wonderful meals. Had a great holiday, would recommend and come back again.

PERFECT Normandy B&B
My friends and I stayed at Foxes Farm in July 2020. Catherine and Shaun were so incredibly welcoming. The apartment is so cute and cozy. It was clean and had tons of space. Their dog was absolutely adorable and we loved the garden out back. It’s less than a 30 min drive to Mont-Saint-Michel. This was our favorite Airbnb of our 10 day France road trip and one of our favorites ever! Definitely will plan a trip down to Normandy just to stay here again and for longer!

Fantastic room and beautiful views
Such a beautiful place. Great location for sightseeing but enjoying the peacefulness of rural life. Amazing hosts who are both people and dog friendly. Will definitely rebook
