We chose to visit Gubbio around Christmas time, when there are few tourists and it's pretty cold. We love the city and wanted to stay in the historic center, vs. a farmhouse outside of town. Other than the hotels, there aren't many apartments for rent, and this one is an excellent choice.
First off, it's located right off the main square, and you can walk to a cafe in perhaps 30 seconds. Next, it's been nicely restored, is very clean and nice and charming. In short, an excellent, comfortable apartment for a visit to Gubbio. In fact, I was surprised at how nice it is; the apartment is nicer and larger than the photos indicate.
We stayed here with our kids, and the apt worked very well. There is a loft above the family room, with a double-size fold out couch. Our two young kids had plenty of room there. My wife and I stayed in the bedroom next to the family room, and that was also a good size and very comfortable. Understand that this building is perhaps 500 years old, and we visited when it was 27 degrees F outside. We were a bit concerned that the apartment might be drafty or cold, but it was very comfortable and warm.
I can certainly recommend this apartment for a family of four or fewer. Paolo and Emmanuelle were wonderful, checking in to ensure that we were happy, had everything we needed, etc. They clearly love the place and take great care of it. We will stay here next time, for sure!
