I came into Florence by train. I then took a bus to Paizza Ferruchi; from there I took another bus to this cottage. It was not bad at all, just do your homework ahead of time because some of the bus drivers are not very helpful.
When I arrived at the cottage, I was greeted by a very lovely lady of the house (separate from the cottage); she showed me around and went over some bus and tourist information with me and left me to enjoy the beautifully decorated rental and it's garden.
I walked over to the store to buy some groceries and spent the first evening settling in and watching the fireflies as the sky grew darker. This was awesome! I chose the country setting over the city because I wanted to be around nature, and this place was perfect.
The rental was very clean and comfortable; most importantly, I felt safe since I was traveling solo.
The kitchen was well appointed with the exception of utensils - I found a teaspoon in the coffee jar, and I kept forgetting to ask for a knife and fork, so I took on the challenge of making that spoon work as a knife to cut my produce. You do have to purchase your own coffee, but there are condiments available for use.
I did not have any shampoo with me and the host was very kind and brought me some of hers.
The Pizzeria across the street has a wonderful variety on their menu, and their salads are the best, but they also have meat dishes and pastas, etc. Not to mention, great wine!
Overall this is a great rental, great location, great price oh and they have a very friendly dog.
