Villa Poletti ~ Simply Beautiful

Magnificent views of the lake (even better than the photos) and majestic mountains, lush, and fragrant with bouquets of flowers, singing birds, ancient walls and bridges.. the friendliest people, the freshest food. Peaceful at the Villa, exciting in the town of Bellagio, so much to do and see boat tours, water skiing, hiking, canyoning, fishing, swimming.. something for everyone, amazing restaurants. The Villa is pristine and the owner and manager very accommodating. We will never forget this amazing holiday at Villa Poletti! It was as my dream to stay at the lakes in a beautiful villa, and you made it come true! Much joy and happiness to you Monika,Karin and your entire family!

Wonderful memories made at Villa Poletti

Wonderful family memories were made at Villa Poletti as our family of 6 adults and 2 children thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Villa is beautifully restored and furnished with a comfortably flowing floor plan and well- maintained appliances, fixtures, plumbing and grounds. The kitchen is well-stocked, and bath/bed linens are fresh and beds are comfortable. The Villa's views of Lake Como and its easy access to both San Giovanni and Bellagio are delightful. San Giovanni is a 10 minute paved walk downhill with a somewhat steep climb back (check out NeNe for cappuccino and cocktails). Bellagio is a 5 minute easy drive; however, the Villa's driveway ingress and egress can be a challenge. Best of all, Karin is friendly, professional, reliable and incredibly helpful. Monika. attendina the villa in Karin's absence, is also friendly, reliable and helpful. Our family will definitely return to Villa Poletti should the opportunity present itself. 5 stars!

A Villa to Remember

Booked this gem for a friends vacation to celebrate a milestone birthday. So happy with my choice as it was charming, clean, spacious, and those views! No one in our party had been to Como before so we had a learning curve about the area but once we settled in the access to the mid-Lake ferry and bus schedule proved invaluable. Monika was always available to answer questions and check in and out was flawless. You can walk to San Giovanni but there are stairs so not for anyone with serious mobility issues. We rented a car but you can get by without one... just more challenging (we used Claudio car service frequently). Will always reflect fondly on our stay at this gorgeous Villa.

A magical treat

My family and I had a great time at the villa. Their customer service was impeccable. The view is incredible and I enjoyed not being in downtown. It was very convenient to walk down to the small village of San Giovanni for bread and essentials and good coffee. Also a great stop for a glass of wine and meet the locals. A great pebble beach and snack bar is also great to walk to. Kids loved it.Great sandwiches too. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious (which is quite rare in Italy) and very clean. I cook a lot for the family and the kitchen was well stocked. I am still dreaming about my breakfast and dinner enjoyed on the patio overlooking the lake. The view is magical. Thank you so much for a great vacation. We will be back!

Amazing villa

We had an amazing time at Villa Polletti. The location couldn't be better and comes with beautiful views. There is everything you could possibly need for a relaxing vacation with friends and family. It is comfortable and spacious and very close to downtown Bellagio. We were sad to leave and can't wait to come back. See you soon!

Magnificent, soothing views from a classy Italian villa!

The wonderful views and understated elegance of this villa made it difficult to leave and explore town. We particularly enjoyed the dinners we had at home while taking in the views of the lake over the roofs and bell tower of the San Giovanni harbor neighborhood. But our group walks to downtown through the hamlet of Loppia and the Melzi gardens were equally memorable as we generally stopped for aperitivos along the way, first in San Giovanni, next at the restaurant-bar in Loppia, and finally at one of the downtown venues (we liked Hotel Suisse a lot). Without aperitivos it's a 30 minute walk to downtown and hopping on the open air trolley is sometimes convenient. Shopping in Como was easy as the bus stop is right in front of the villa. We thank the staff for their attentive and warm hospitality!

Perfect getaway

Ideal place to spend a relaxing time in nordern Italy. Nearby are great places to eat and visit. The Villa es beautifully decorated, conserving it’s old style.

Wonderful Romantic Villa

Very romantic and good preserved. This old style villa makes you feel the historic italian “modus vivendi”. We totally recommend this place. Thabks for hosting.

Excellent accommodations, perfect stay

Loved the location, view and everything about the stay. One of the best views from the balcony anywhere. A walk towards the water reveals all the charming nuances of Italian life. Comfortable, charming, loved it.
