My husband and I consider Rome to be our second home. We go there about once every second or third year, make our base, then go off to Sicily, Tuscany, Sardinia, or wherever the wind sends us. This last trip was a business trip, a very first for us, and instead of staying with family, we decided to stay in a B & B near Sapienza University where my husband conducted his lectures.
There is really no shortage of place to stay in Rome, when I checked with Trip Advisor, Expedia, Priceline, Hotels.com, or just thru word of mouth. Everyone has an opinion, a reference or a favorite place. But we really needed something within walking distance from the university, plus, since I was all by myself during the day, we wanted to stay close to all the major transportation which will take me to the sites and shopping. This is how we found Rooms for You B&B in San Lorenzo. First off, we love the neighborhood. The streets are filled with Roman joie-de-vivre day or night. We were surrounded by locals going about their business so felt safe walking around no matter what time of day. There are restaurants, coffee shop, laundromats, pizzerias, grocery shops, pharmacies, you name it, you’ve got it.
The rooms are clean, tastefully decorated and equipped with just about anything to make our stay comfortable, i.e, tea kettle, wifi, big windows, hair dryer, flat screen tv, etc. I had one of my best « away from home » sleep on that bed. There is also a small lounging area for you to get to know the other guests and compare notes as to which restaurant to eat at next and where to buy my next pair of boots. The owners, Agnese and Fabio were just fabulous. They were there to greet us and made sure that we had everything we needed. They also gave us great advice on where to shop and eat. We were provided with coupons for our breakfast so we can grab our capuccino and croissant at a local coffee bar where we get to witness locals gossip every morning. As such, whenever in Rome, we will be sure to return to charming little B & B. Thank you Rooms for You for making our stay a most magnificent one!
