Not sure what I can add to the already glowing reviews! The apartment was absolutely perfect and lived up,to the pictures. Beds really comfortable. Bathroom and kitchen very well fitted out and lacking nothing. We spent many a happy hour on the terrace watching Roman life. Fernando’s attention to detail, descriptions of the public transport, particularly the 87 bus which takes you direct to Colosseum and Piazza Navona, collection and drop off from the airport etc were much appreciated. Wonderful bakers just across the road and so many shops, restaurants, takeaways within 5 minutes walk as well as the metro station. My daughter was especially impressed by the McDonalds next door to the Metro, though maybe not our highlight ;-) We preferred the fabulous takeaway pizzas that were delicious and so cheap, and the gelato. We had great meals at La Caletta, Olio e Farine and Casali e Gasparino (next to Metro stop) .
It was just wonderful to spend long days seeing the sights then come home and experience a bit of real Roman life away from the touristic part. If you don’t like big queues, it’s definitely worth paying for the “skip the line “ tours in advance for the colosseum and Vatican museums. You can do this via their websites vs traditional tour companies. We also did a “beneath the streets” tour booked with Viator which we really enjoyed. The glass lift to the top of Il Vittoriano gives fabulous views over the city. A week wasn’t long enough. We will definitely be back and stay in the apartment again. Thanks Fernando!
