I wish l could say it was a lovely apartment but as a personal oppinion, it really wasn't. If someone would have given an honest oppinion about the place, l would have looked for something else but l trusted the previous reviews, therefore l ended up booking this property. I understand that everyone wants to be kind and help a small family business but a constructive chriticism can do good to the business owner and improve. It will be a detailed review and have some pictures attached.
The location of the apartment is brilliant. Just get downstairs and you're in the middle of the entertainment, restaurants, shops and the beach.
We knew it didn't have air conditioning but during the months of July and August, l think this is a must as it's at the 5th level out of 6 and especially the twin bedroom gets roasted during the day and kids could hardly breath in there. Opening the windows in the kids room it's defo not an option for safety reasons.
The apartment needs a desperate upgrade as it's very outdated...the pictures posted on Tripadvisor must be quite old and don't reflect the reality of the state of the apartment. The kitchen is clean but every kitchen tool is very old. The fridge is defrosting and leaking, microwave makes the socket of the general electric panel pop out, loads of knives but not even one to cut at least through a pepper (sharpner provided but very, very old and broken), for the toaster you can use just one slot as the other has some torn and twisted things inside and won't fit another slice of bread, glass cutting board which makes using the blunt knives a terrible noise.
Bathrooms: they seem a decent size in the picture but at least the one with the shower cabine, from the picture (which no longer has a door but a short shower curtain, which makes you flood the floor)...in reality the shower no longer has a door, like in the picture. The space in the shower is very small and the shower curtain was getting stick to us while showering. Also there is a big pipe damage from the top floor apartment and there is paint peeling falling on your head while showering or sitting on the toilet.
Another thing, which again is a personal options, were the totally black towels provided. You never know if those towels are propperly washed and desinfected behind the black colour, plus we got black lint all over us...had to use some of our beach towels. Bathrooms have no drain in the floor and having 2 teenagers, one 8 year old and a large adult to shower made me spend more time cleaning the water in the bathrooms floor than l spent on the beach.
The bedrooms: one decent size double bedroom, with a double bed (which is more like a camping or army bed with a mattress on top and a headboard nailed into the wall...see pictures), walls need a good paint from the scratch as it's all thick and cracked, dirty walls and old fans/lamps. The shades and curtains are extremely old (probably as old as the apartment), rusty rails, ripped and with wholes. The other double room is more like a large single but it's almost as big as the bed and the walls are very dirty.
The twin room has a decent size but again the curtains and shades are extremely old, dusty and ripped. That room gets very, very hot during the months of July and August. Keeping the windows open if you have kids is a big NO NO. The children must be supervised all the time due to the easy reach at the window. Also, moskitos were not our friends😅
Therfore, before having a good upgrade of the apartment l won't recommend it.
