As all the previous reviews have stated, Javier’s apartment was excellent. We were a party of 4 ladies so we were really pleased when we found this apartment as it meant we could all have our own bedrooms. The apartment was very spacious set over 2 floors situated on a side street very near to The Botanical Gardens and El Retiro park which is well worth a visit. Taxi from the airport is approx 20 mins and costs 30 euros. Javier was always very quick to respond to questions that I had and he met us at the apartment so it was nice to meet him too. On our last day Javier said we could leave our luggage in the apartment and he even ordered our taxi which arrived dead on time. We really liked the location of the apartment, just to the edge of the official centre of Madrid so not so busy but still a great atmosphere with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. Madrid is easily walkable so we didn’t use any public transport to get around. Javier has made sure that there are plenty of guidebooks and maps at the apartment for you to use which were very useful. All in all we had a great time in Madrid and we would definitely recommend Javier’s apartment for a small group wanting to stay in a great location and in an apartment with character, comfort and space.

Appartement très bien situé en plein centre de Madrid.
De beaux espaces que ce soit le salon ou encore les chambres.
Propreté impeccable.
Très bel accueil de Javier tant dans la souplesse au niveau des horaires (arrivée et départ) que sa réactivité dans les échanges par mail ou encore dans ses conseils de visites ou restaurants sympas.
Donc merci pour tout Javier

Couldn’t have been better!
We loved this characterful property which was perfect in every respect for our group.
Javier was an outstanding host providing everything you could possibly wish for in the house. Spacious, spotlessly clean and conveniently located ,very close to the Prado and museums as well as numerous cafes and restaurants. We would highly recommend a stay here for larger groups of friends or families. In addition it’s close to the airport bus stop at Atocha.
All in all an outstanding property and host. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again in this city.

Lovely apartment
We only have good things to say about this apartment. The location was within a few miles, minutes to neighborhood shops and groceries, the unit was well maintained, clean, beautifully furnished, the kitchen was complete, the pantry was stacked with the basic groceries and most of all we felt safe and secure in the apartment.
Also worth mentioning is the service provided by our host Javier, he was efficient, reliable and just overall very friendly and accommodating. Given a chance to visit Madrid, we’ll definitely book this unit again.

Perfect for multi-family holiday in Madrid
The Host:
Javier is very responsive, accommodating, helpful, and kind. He is exactly the sort of person you want on the other end of a family trip when you don’t speak the local language. He provided valuable information to help us plan prior to our arrival, and supported us while in Spain by answering questions and arranging for our early morning taxis. We communicated easily with Javier by using WhatsApp + Google Translate. Javier was also flexible by allowing us to check in several hours early.
The Apartment:
The apartment is very modern and clean and fits 10-12 comfortably. We had 10 (6 adults, 4 kids), and there was plenty of space. The kitchen is large and well stocked and appointed. Javier even provided $40+ Euros of complimentary groceries to get us started. The living area is beautiful. The entire house is also heated. In short, it felt like home. The TV has Netflix and you can change the language on the digital channels so kids can watch cartoons, which helps them unwind after a long day of walking.
With the exception of one downstairs sleeper couch which we did not use, all of the bedrooms were located upstairs and had proper beds. We were able to hang out and watch tv at night while the kids were asleep. Two of the four upstairs rooms are street side and can be noisy. Madrid is lively! The other two rooms are very quiet and perfect for children and light sleepers. The location was excellent, with a short walk to grocery stores, cafes, restaurants, museums, metro, SIM shop, and Atocha train station (<10 mins). Exploring the entire city was very easy from this location.
Getting There
I recommend just taking taxis from the airport for a flat rate of 30 Euro. Make sure to stop at the taxi desk inside the terminal for official taxis. They were helpful and arranged for one large van for 6 people, which saved us some money; apparently there aren’t many large vans in Madrid.
Sim Cards:
The Madrid airport has free WiFi so you don’t need a SIM card right away as long as the person you need to reach has some sort of messenger account (e.g. WhatsApp), which most do. You can then buy Sim cards much cheaper when you get into town. We paid 15 Euros for a SIM card at a shop just around the corner from Javier’s apartment.

Impresionante e Impecable
Desde que llegamos (12), fue lo mejor que nos pasó en nuestro viaje por Europa. Estuvimos en Lisboa, Roma, Napoles y Venecia y cerramos en Madrid , pero ningún alojamiento superó el de la Calle Moratin. Javier muy puntual, el apartamento impecable, no nos imaginábamos que íbamos a hospedarnos en este sitio. Su ubicación, la mejor de todas, el más mínimo detalle estaba planeado para que nuestra estancia fuera lo más agradable posible. Desde el simple
Detalle de tener información turística de toda clase hasta tener un kit de comida y bebidas a nuestra llegada.
Un sitio limpio, con amenities, toallas y camas limpias, baños impecables y ni decir de la cocina. Nos sentimos muy seguros en el sector, amplia gama de Bares y restaurantes, supermercados, sitios turísticos y mucho más.
JAVIER muchas gracias por su hospitalidad y cortesía, si volvemos esperamos hospedarnos de nuevo en su apto y muy seguramente lo recomendáramos desde Colombia con nuestros amigos y familiares.

Een perfect en goed verzorgd appartement voor een groter gezelschap
Het is een mooi appartement; wat je op de foto's ziet krijg je ook.
Het is ruim opgezet, zeer schoon, er is voor alles gezorgd.
We kregen een gastvrij ontvangst, konden de koffers al in de ochtend in het appartement laten staan.
Een mooie locatie , centraal van allerlei bezienswaardigheden in Madrid.
Alle kamers zijn ruim opgezet en hebben goede bedden.
Een appartement waar je graag nog eens terugkomt.

Lovely place in a great location and an excellent host
Everything you read on other reviews about Javier are totally true. Excellent in responding with any questions you throw at him. Very helpful in every department.
I found this apartment by looking at trip advisor and other similar sites, after reading reviews and looking at pictures we booked the apartment to celebrate my sons 21st birthday and welcoming back our daughter from Australia. We had a very similar apartment in Barcelona and was looking forward to spending 5 days in Madrid in a lovely apartment.
We took a taxi from the airport which cost 39 euros (I think we got done by 9 euros as it should have been 30 euros but driver then added extra for 4 passengers). On way back it was 30 euros. Journey took 20 mins. Javier met us at the apartment and showed us around. There was bread, milk and other items including 6 cans of lager, which we were not expecting.
On the main floor there is a very big kitchen, lounge, toilet and utility room. One down side the TV does not have sky or English stations very limited which might be a problem for some. Excellent WIFI though. Regarding the oven ask Javier to show you how it works, we found the brochure in a draw but might be easier to just ask.
Upstairs there is Master bedroom which is spacious, with a en suite which includes a shower and a very large bath. Another bedroom has en suite at the back of the apartment with 2 other bedrooms both decent size. Beds very comfortable and a good size. However you may be woken up around 2 to 3 am by the bin men coming down the very narrow / quiet road but they don't seem to care about how much noise they make, it last for about 10 mins then it's very quite. You will get used to it.
Location of the area apartment is excellent 20 min walk to the palace, temple. 20 min walk to the main shopping areas plazas. 5 / 10 min walk from botanical gardens and museums
Bus 27 takes you to Real Madrid stadium takes about 30 mins from the bottom of the road. Buses cost 1.50 euros per trip and easier to get around the city then using the hop on hop off bus.
Small supermarket just round the corner with loads of small bars, restaurants and little shops very close.
10 mins walk from an excellent Argentinian restaurant.
I would recommend this apartment and if we ever go back will not look at any where else.

I seriously regret the incident with the taxi driver who brought you to the apartment. Unfortunately some taxi drivers take advantage of the ignorance of fares by tourists. I apologize.
