We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Rose cottage. Beautiful peaceful place and the tennis court and ping pong were a bonus. Highly recommended.

Great family holiday in Dorset
We stayed at Rose Cottage for a week at the end of July. Everything was perfect, the owner had left a bottle of fizz and chocolates and although we arrived late in the evening she was there to welcome us.
The cottage is in a beautiful location ideal for exploring the local countryside and coast. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing cottage break.

What a lovely cottage and setting
Just spent a week at Rose Cottage, which is located near Tincleton. The cottage was so comfortable, that after only being there a few hours it felt like home and Jane's welcome and attention to detail added to this. The location of the cottage with its river walks and surrounding countryside made our holiday so relaxing that it was hard to leave. Within the garden of the cottage we saw so many different types of birds which made just made sitting in the garden a great experience.

Rose Cottage
WOW, what a fabulous cottage! From champagne & chocolates waiting for you on arrival, and the cosy log fire every night, this place was truly magical x The location is perfect for sightseeing and an amazing sleep had every night. Would highly recommend Rose Cottage, thanks Jane....we loved it xxxx

Ideal for a rural getaway
Delivered everything we were hoping for from a winter weekend in Dorset - beach a short drive away, footpaths right from the house, nice pub not too far. Well equipped house with generous sized rooms, and a log-burning stove in the cosy sitting room.

Beautiful Cottage with a superb atmosphere
The standard of Rose cottage was really high with some lovely character features. For a family this is a perfect property with three good sized bedrooms, large living room and farmhouse style kitchen with electric Arga Cooker. The cottage is joined at the rear to Tincleton Lodge which is also let out but there was not a sound coming through any adjoining walls (not surprising as they are really thick stone walls. The garden is big with a nice barbecue and table/chair seating area. The cottage is on a farm property and the views are quite stunning all around.
We took a few walks around the immediate area and there are walking paths everywhere. The wildlife in the area is flourishing. We saw a multitude of different birds of prey, waterfowl (as there are several lakes), Game birds, badgers, foxes and even a couple of deer which we caught a glimpse of as they disappeared into the forest on the hill opposite the cottage.
The location is about 10 minutes due east of Dorchester and there are small villages and hamlets scattered all around with village pubs/ bar food and restaurants (listed in the informative guide at the cottage). It is a great position to visit the jurassic coast and coastal paths with some spectacular scenery. Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are 15 minutes away and there are some stunning 'oldy worldy' villages to visit such as Cerne Abbus with the 'rude giant' (hill chalk image) just north of Dorchester.
The best part of the holiday at Rose Cottage was the peace and quiet - with just the crackling of the log fire in the living room at night. Plenty of games and jigsaw puzzles for the kids provided and there was a nice touch with a bottle of wine and some chocolates from the owners when we arrived. There was plenty of cupboard space and beds are really comfy and we slept like logs.
I couldn't fault the accommodation - thought it was wonderful. We will definitely stay again if we revisit Dorset.

Beautifully presented cottage with all you could need for a quiet week in the country
My husband and I stayed here with our 5 month old daughter for a week. The cottage had everything we needed for a very comfortable and cosy stay in the countryside. The location of the cottage means we really did feel away from it all, but it is within a reasonable driving distance of many attractions for days out, such as Swanage, corfe castle, Weymouth, and many coastal villages.
The cottage is beautifully presented, could not fault it! Very spacious, with a gorgeous wood burning stove, and big kitchen. The welcome pack of fizz and chocolate was also well received after a long drive to Dorset , thank you Jane!
The garden was huge and we look forward to future visits when our daughter is running around so we can really make the most of it.
The farm that rose cottage is located on is a great place to stay with young children, to be able to get outdoors and see the cows or wildlife around the lake, and we absolutely cannot wait to return.

Great escape
A fantastic cottage for a girly weekend away - well equipped and plenty of attention to detail. Warm and cosy with a bottle of fizz to greet us - a thoughtful touch thanks Jane. Really handy to be able to agree a shorter rental. Close to coast and Hardy country - Sherborne worth a visit - less impressed with Athelhampton House but expect the gardens worth a visit in Spring/Summer.

Surpassed our high expectations!
My sister and I hired Rose Cottage for a week as a present for our parents - we therefore had high hopes and we weren't disappointed! The cottage is beautiful, immaculate and very homely but with so many extras that make it a real treat to reside in - the kitchen, complete with AGA, provides a real hub and the sitting room has a gorgeous wood burner. I cannot emphasise enough how much charm and original character the property has, which the owners have tastefully preserved during their refurbishment. The grounds are beautiful and provided us with lots of stunning walks, whilst overall, the location was well-placed for trips further afield. The owners were very welcoming and dealt with several queries and requests before we'd even arrived. After one fabulous week we are already keen to return, so I would highly recommend Rose Cottage.

Thank you for your Review and I am so pleased that Rose Cottage was everything that you hoped for. It was our aim when renovating to make it not only luxurious but also comfortably homely and Guests appear to feel relaxed as soon as entering the front door. I think the Aga and the Inglenook fireplace with woodburner all make it beautifully cosy after a brisk walk around the meadows and Nature trail on the farm. Please do come again.

Beautiful location which was cosy and spacious for a relaxing break in the Dorset countryside.
We stayed at Rose Cottage twice in the winter, each time inviting friends to stay. We found the setting idyllic and the cottage cosy, warm and very comfortable. The welcome from our hosts was warmly sincere and unobtrusive. The cottage was peaceful, well-furnished to a high standard and ideal for exploring the Dorset countryside. It suited our needs for country-style self-catering away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
