The 17th Century Farm and Barn are built of local pink stone in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Our scenic rural location is surrounded by acres of fields and woods - our only neighbours being sheep, wild birds, and our rescue hens. Perfect for large families or groups of friends to enjoy a healthy break away from it all with clean fresh air, starry skies, no passing cars or people. There are many beautiful walks from the doorstep – one favourite is a circular route along the nearby spectacular Roaches ridge via picture-perfect Wincle and its excellent country pub the Ship Inn.
High Ridge Barn is architect designed and recently renovated throughout to provide luxurious modern and comfortable self-catering accommodation with superb views across Swythamley valley.

Perfect Place with Perfect hosts
We stayed for a birthday celebration with the family (Kids 18 & 20) plus our Labrador and the place is amazing, views are stunning and everything is there for you. You would never know dogs stay there as the place is immaculate and they even have a dog shower in the barn which we used each day having done some stunning walks inc Luds Church. The brewery and Ships Inn in down the road definetly worth the visit as well. Sauna is amazing after a day out walking and Rob & Rosie were brilliant. Will be staying again.

Amazing place
Stayed here for a week at the end of august/ beginning of September. From the moment you arrive you feel at home, the freshly baked bread and eggs plus bottles of local beer to sample are a lovely touch!. Everything you could ever need is here in the barn! Very accommodating to dogs, the doggy grooming bath/ dryer was very handy after some long walks/ swim in the various streams.
Cannot fault anything regarding our stay here and would return again in the future.

Absolutely fabulous
We have just returned from a week at high ridge and what a fabulous week we have had. 6 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. Rosie and Rob are just the best hosts. They even put our online food shop away for us prior to our arrival !!
The barn is totally dog safe which certainly helped everyone relax knowing we could leave the door open for them to roam in and out.
Every little detail has been thought about in the barn and to a very high standard. We actually thought we had forgotten to switch the dishwasher on as it was so quiet !
The views are amazing and we all came home feeling so refreshed.
The location is perfect for walking and cycling. We visited Chatsworth House (50 mins away) which was just stunning and had a lovely bike ride on the Monsal trail which is traffic free.
We will certainly be visiting again.

Amazing place
Fantastic place. Extremely clean, very well equipped and beautiful location.
Would highly recommend this for a family of 6-8 or small group.
The little things made all the difference in the place.

Ultimate luxury in perfect country location
Just wanted to get away for a few days after lockdown, somewhere the dogs would be welcome but with good food, good pubs and spectacular walks, this is the place to stay. It's a four bedroom barn conversion done to a luxury scale in which you'll want for nothing. In addition to the walks and the pubs, in the four nights we were there, we visited Chatsworth House and (the younger ones) Alton Towers - both less than an hours drive in spectacular country side. The owners provided freshly laid eggs and freshly baked bread every morning making breakfast a real treat.

Christmas Stay
We booked the barn for a family Christmas week, the whole booking process and communication with Rosie and Rob was great, nothing was too much trouble.
The barn is gorgeous such fabulous attention to detail and lovely treats left on arrival, we would definitely book again.

Simply superb - luxury home from home for pooches and people!
Wow! What can I say that the other reviews have not. Rosie and Rob are fantastic. Attention to detail is amazing right from their first communications. When we arrived, it was clear that every small detail had been thought of. We were a group of 7 girls and 3 pooches. The house is stunning and given that we had a great week of weather we spent most of it outside. The views are fantastic and it's a really peaceful setting. It's fairly remote which is how we loved it, 10 mins drive to the pub and 15 mins into Leek. We has a Tesco delivery on day 1 and popped to Macclesfield mid-week. Enjoyed lovely BBQs and lunches out. Just one thing to be mindful of. We ate at The Ship Inn one evening and it was really not good. Not sure if it was just a bad night as reviews seem quite mixed but our experience was poor, food-wise. We enjoyed walks on the doorstep, with a path up to The Roaches. We would definitely recommend Rosie and Rob's place and will look forward to visiting again in the future. Rosie and Rob thank you so much.

Fantastic stay in a beautiful house - highly recommend!
Eight of us came to stay at High Ridge Barn to celebrate our 30th birthday's. From the start Rosie and Rob were fantastic hosts, and extremely helpful - even unpacking our food shop delivery for us! The fresh eggs & homemade bread on arrival was a lovely extra.
The house itself was fantastic, with all the amenities you could possibly need. Lovely big rooms and bathrooms (robes and slippers were a great bonus), all nicely done out.
The location was great for us with lots of nice walks right on your doorstep.
We will definitely be visiting again next year!

Warm, welcoming and extremely comfortable stay - all mod cons !
A group of seven of us stayed for two nights, for some weekend hiking through The Roaches, Lud's Church and surrounding areas.
The barn was very clean, spacious, and well presented, and renovated to a high specification making the whole experience very comfortable. We cooked for ourselves, and the kitchen was very well equipped. The place has plenty of bathrooms and is well set up for groups, so at no time did we feel crowded.
The hosts were very welcoming, and set up the wood fire sauna for us after our hike, which was a fantastic treat after a long days hike. We would certainly return and highly recommend to all.

A hidden gem in the most wonderful setting
We stayed at High Ridge Barn and I have to say this is we had the most amazing break we could ever wish for. If I could give Rosie at 10* rating I would!
The accommodation is out of this world, the best we have ever stayed in. There are so many thoughtful touches, from the bread, beer and cake upon arrival. To items that surprised us in every room...free from toiletries, the vast array of coffees and the games for adults and children. Not to mention the quality of the furnishings.
But the bit that surpassed us all is the way we welcomingly warmed by Rosie and Rob. Both children and dogs have some fond memories of the doggy bath and chicken feeding and egg finding.
We will definitely be returning.
