Casa de Helios located in an exclusive private vacation home with 4 bedrooms and 4 baths, offering spectacular panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez from every room in house! This beautiful and expansive fully furnished home, comfortably sleeps 8 to 10 people. It combines the warmth of classic Mexican architecture with state-of-the-art features of modern contemporary homes. The fabulous vaulted ceilings, tiled floors, and numerous windows yield a superbly bright and open atmosphere with sweeping panoramic ocean views. The house lends itself to entertaining in style. It is within 5 minute walk to our pristine semi-private white sandy Punta Bella beach.

House provided all it promised!
The view and the whales are all true! We were a family of 3 generations staying over the Christmas period. With three couples each having their own private quarters and bathrooms, it enabled a comfortable 9 day stay. The two 12 year old granddaughters stayed in the casita and felt very grown up. The older granddaughter hoped to sleep on a blow up bed in the palapa outdoors. While it may have worked, she found it too light with the full moon and neighbours lighting. She put the mattress on top of the pull out couch and slept in the living room. It was easy to then dismantle the bed for the day and provided a very comfortable bed. I think the house works best with 8 people max.
We basically lived outside. Since the hurricane, the owner rebuilt the palapa and railing ( as well as windows of course) and provided new deck furniture. There was an issue when we arrived with the heat for the pool. They were waiting for the delivery of a new large propane tank and were fearful of us using too much fuel for the pool that we ran out of propane to use the stove or dryer. We were somewhat doubtful that it would all get done over Christmas as it was a big job. However, with Marty's coordination it all happened as promised and we had a hot tub. The ocean this year is so warm, we spent more time there than in the pool, but it was nice to have an evening hot tub with the full moon.
The Mega grocery is less than 10 minutes away and has everything. We did all our meals in after the first night, which we had fun with. We even perfected the perfect marguerita! Some of the appliances are a bit dated for the quality of the house, but after the expense of repairing the hurricane damage, it is understandable. When we were short of some items, Marty provided them. We did employ the housekeeper one day during the time which worked well. We felt very pampered with the kind gate guards, the gardeners, the pool maintenance person and the housekeeper.
We did go up to La Paz one day to swim with the whale sharks which is highly recommended. You do require a car to stay in that area. We rented from Alamo, and the others used National and Cactus with no problem. Once you get over the fact that you need all the insurance and it will cost more than the car, then all is good. We found the Mexican people we met with very helpful and kind. The beach below the house is beautiful, and even over Christmas we often had it to ourselves.
We highly recommend this house to families or a group of close friends. it is reasonably priced compared to others in the area.

Wonderful all around - third time there
We have stayed at Casa Helios for 4 weeks in 2013, 6 weeks in 2015 and 5 weeks in 2016 and each time the home has been excellent. There are beautiful views from each of the 4 bedrooms, living room and dining room and outside areas. The hot tub and pool are great for getting warm and cooling off... whatever you like. There are nice outside sitting areas for dining, sun bathing or watching the numerous whales in late February and March. The house is located in a quiet residential community with a short walk to a white sandy beach that has very few people. The owner Partha, does improvements to the house every year and is very responsive to inquires. The manager Marty is excellent, he is always on his cell or email and gets back almost immediately with answers to our questions. The house is located between San Jose and Cabo so you can easily visit both towns. There good restaurants in both places and many attractions to enjoy such as golf, fishing, Baja 1000, beach walking, shopping. Also there is a very good grocery store Mega in San Jose and a Costco and Wallmark in Cabo. Also a very nice feature is that there is a free phone to the US and Canada. We love the house and the location and have booked time there again for next year.

Beautiful spot, beautiful home
This house is in a superb location, away from crowds and in a gated community of very expensive homes. It is well maintained and very safe. Ocean views from all rooms, lovely heated pool. Very spacious living areas, not far from the airport and not far from either Cabo San Lucas or the town of San Juan del Cabo, which is smaller than Cabo. It is a hike to the beach but very private once you get there.

Continues to be excellent
This was our fourth year at Casa Helios and each year it gets better. The house is always well maintained and the owner does improvements each year. The gardens look great. The house is located a short walk from a spectacular white sandy beach that is virtually private as there are very few people on it ... and with a medium length walk you can get to the One and Only Resort. It is truly world class. Casa Helios itself has views of the beach from almost every room ... it is so refreshing to wake up in the morning go to the master bedroom bathroom and watch the sunrise. It is easy to see the whales from the outside deck beside the swimming pool and spa. New in the neighbourhood is the shopping area right across the highway ... there is an amazing food court with excellent food and a large variety to choose from. If you are so inclined check out the impressive workout facility with its drop in arrangement. Casa Helios' manager, Marty, always readily available to answer any questions and be of assistance. So all in all Casa Helios is a wonderful place to have a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. We will be going back next year for sure.

Disappointing
It would take a long time to explain in detail, so here is the short version: we were led to believe rental was ready for us and everything was OK, but I have to say we never stayed at Casa de Helios since it was a construction site when we arrived. We were accommodated to a different villa. Owners of Casa de Helios, Partha and Anandita, are, for the lack of a better term, liers.

Hi - your dissatisfied review is understandable. Our lead contractor fell ill and though they tried they could not complete final touch ups of the remodel in time. Instead of putting you up in a "not so perfectly set up" home--or cancelling the booking at the last minute -- we booked another villa, which was actually priced substantially higher in the market and bore the cost difference ourselves.
We do regret the inconvenience of not staying in the place you had booked - but we do know from phone calls with other members' of your family that the place booked was excellent and more than comparable.
Casa Helios is now remodeled completely and is even more comfortable and beautiful than before.

Audacious Views and Peaceful Ambiance
Casa Helios offers easy access to nearby restaurants and beaches. Walk to the private beach below the house or drive a couple of miles to Palmilla Beach for swimming. The casa is large and accommodating. But the best assets are the views and pool and patio area which are as good as you can imagine.

Lovely ocean views
This gracious house is located on a hillside above the ocean in a beautiful gated community outside San Jose del Cabo. The main house has three good sized bedrooms, each with its own bath, with the casita serving as a 4th bedroom. The house is very clean with lots of light from all the windows that face the ocean. The kitchen is well equipped with lots of cookware, flatware, dishes and serving pieces--important for a family group but not always the case in rental houses. The best aspect of the house is the outdoor space, with spectacular views of the ocean and lots of areas for sitting or dining. The palapa, with a large cushioned seating area, is a great place to read, relax, and watch the activity out on the ocean. Bring your binoculars to watch the whales going by. The peaceful nearby beach, generally populated with only a handful of people, is less than a 10 minute walk away. The water is very clear and our grandkids also enjoyed the sand and tidepools. There are two superstore grocery stores nearby so shopping is convenient. This is a good place for people who want to be away from the more crowded touristy area yet near enough to enjoy restaurants in either San Jose del Cabo or Cabo San Lucas. One small quibble was that although the house had wireless, it got slow, likely due to the number of devices our family members were using--that might not be an issue for others.

Close enough to everything, but far enough away
Avoid the tourists in Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo, but never be too far away from the night life.
Case Helios is well maintained, and has all of the amenities you'd expect in a rental unit. The view from the hot tub and pool are magical. There's not a bad room in the house, to be honest. The three bedrooms in the main house are all well sized with ocean views. The casita is an extra gem if someone in your group needs a bit more quiet or privacy. The gated community is safe and full of amazing house. The quiet private beach is just a short walk away (be warned, it's a steep walk, but a quick one).
There are a few dining options in walking distance (El Merkado and Colorado Grill), as long as you don't mind a bit of frogger. Highway 1 can get quite busy, but these restaurants are just a 10-15 minute walk if you are looking for a beverage without driving. There's also a Fresko supermarket across the street with everything you need for food. Pro tip - check for specials on food delivery direct from the grocery store on their website. First time users can often order online and get the delivery fee waived.
It's easy to get Ubers out of Rancho Cerro Colorado. Cabo San Lucas is around a 30 minute ride, and you can expect to pay 400-600 pesos. San Jose Del Cabo is a more accessible 10-15 minute ride and generally under 200 pesos.
In a nutshell, if you're looking for a laidback vibe with great views and easy access to great drinks and food, you won't go wrong with this place.

Amazing!
We came for a family vacation and truly enjoyed the property. Perfect size for eight adults and the house had all the amenities we required. Loved the short walk or drive to the beach, the beach is gorgeous and hardly anyone else there. We swam in the ocean every day and enjoyed the pool and the hot tub afterwards. Views of the ocean from the house were beautiful. We took an excursion for a snorkel boat trip and enjoyed the local restaurants. The location is perfect, quiet enough to enjoy a peaceful day, but close enough to both Cabos to have a day with other tourists. Highly recommend!

Breath Taking Views of the Sea of Cortez
This home is amazing! First of all, only about a 10 minute drive to everything. So much room, there were 9 of us and there was room to spare. The views are just amazing. We stayed for a week, did a run to Costco for food and we ate out every night. There was a minor issue with the air conditioner but Marty the concierge took care of it that same day. It’s nestled inside the gated community of Rancho Cerro Colorado and we couldn’t have felt safer. There’s also a private beach with parking in the community. It’s not a swim beach but we took advantage of the fantastic sunsets and hired a local photographer for a family photo shoot, super cheesy but lots of fun! For swimming in the Ocean, Chileno beach was only about 10 minutes south of the community. I could go on and on about this home and the community. I highly recommend 10 out of 10!
