We have booked the Sassoscritto 2 month in advance directly with the owner Elisabetta. We clearly stated on the email that we were going to book 2 separate rooms, however on the day of the arrival, we just called the owner to let her know at what time we were arriving and we are told that we will have just one room with 4 beds (1 bunkbed).
We explained to her that we had the 2 rooms confirmed from few months now, and we forward to her the email where she had confirmed the booking, and even then, Elisabetta kept saying " I have never received this email" ( that is quite silly as she also reply to it.
After she hang up the phone on us, she call us back saying " I have decided that I will cancel your reservation" - we explained to her that we were on the way and we had a baby of 6 months old with us, so it would be not possible for us to find a last minute stay.
We also add that as long as she would let us use the kitchen to warm up the baby food, we would be happy anyway, even if the mistake it was not from our side. She kept insisting to cancel the booking, and since we could not find another place where to stay we had to insist to be there.
She also added " we always take care of our clients, and we always offer an welcome aperitive for them, I can do the same if you don't give me a bad review" . We explained to her that the review depends on the experience, and sometimes errors can happen, however they are easy to fix, giving an extra attention to the client, but since she did not want to do it, we asked her to let us pay just one night since we were 4 people plus a baby squeezed in a room.
Now, even if in shock, we arrived at the Sassoscritto. Elisabetta was absolutely not courteous with us, she just gave us the keys of the room and let us go in the room without show any amenity to us. No welcome aperitive was offered, the swimming pool is in the shadow for all day and the water is absolutely freezing. Elisabetta also called us from the terrace in front of other people shouting " you need to move your car, don't you see that there is a garage next to it?" That was awful, and for the 3 days that we were there, we did not feel comfortable at all.
No towel change was provided, no toilet paper offered ( just 1 roll for 4 people for 3 days) and the shower was broken.
We went out for dinner in an amazing Agriturismo, and speaking with the management of the restaurant it came up that is not the first time that she treats clients like that.
We went on her Instagram profile out of curiosity and guess what: she is doing a story were she said that she made confusion with few bookings so she had a free room ( the one that we supposed to get!!!!) and she never came over to offer that to us, but moreover at the checkout, she ask us the full amount for the 2 nights instead of 2 night only as she promised!!!!!
We have left paying her the full amount as we had enough of her treatment, and we are here writing as we want to make sure that people know that the place yes, it’s nice, however the management is terrible!
