This was our first trip to Playa and Vista del Mar was the perfect place for us to stay. We were an extended family of 8 people with three teenagers. We rented a van from the Cancun airport and the trip and parking were a breeze.
The house had the right number of beds and bathrooms and loads of spaces indoors and out to hang out and enjoy the Caribbean air and views. It is just enough away from the city to feel simultaneously secluded and near everything you want to visit.
I can't wait for our next visit.

Fantastic stay,fantastic house, fantastic people at North American Standard!!!
Playa Del Carmen has perfect weather ,day and night. The people at North American Standard are absolutely fantastic to insure that your stay is perfect. The house is located in Phase One of Playa Car. It is a palm tree lined , inlaid brick pavement in a serene environment. This was our 3rd year there and we are already booked for 2018. The house is outstanding and well maintained, fully air conditioned and private pool. House keeping is included with the rental. All of the local Mexican are the most hospitable, friendly people one could hope to ever meet. The famous 5th ave is a 50 block avenue that parallels the Caribbean Sea the is lined with wonderful restaurants, shops and night clubs. It has a festive mood from mid day tll the wee hours of the morning and is extremely safe. Try it, you will be glad you did.

great stay in Mexico
we spent 5 days staying at this fantastic place. We loved the location the staff and the rooms that look out over the water. We would like to stay thanks to marco at the front desk he really was a joy and very helpful.

Great villa
My family of 7 adults rented this villa and it was perfect for our trip! Loads of room for all of us without being crowded, great bbq area and lovely plunge pool that was cleaned daily. we had a few maintenance issues with showers/water when we were there but all got sorted quickly and efficiently! It's in the perfect location, right across the street from the beach and 10 minutes walk to fifth avenue. We hired a car for our stay and it was a great middle location to explore the area, had heard a few things about hiring cars in Mexico being unsafe but we had an amazing time driving to different towns along the coast as well as the coba ruins.....all worth a trip! Overall would stay here again and would definitely recommend!

Paradise Found
We just returned from a week stay at Vista del Mar and loved it. We traveled with my parents and my wifes parents. There were 8 of us in total. We loved the beach which was right out the door. We had dinner at the Casa del Agua one right and loved it.

La casa, che abbiamo affittato per 8 giorni al prezzo di 313 euro a persona (casa da 8 persone), dovrebbe in teoria rispettare gli standard statunitensi. Peccato che ci siano tanti piccoli disservizi che nell'insieme hanno reso il nostro soggiorno non ottimale. Prima di tutto abbiamo trovato la casa sporca (sabbia e briciole per terra, sabbia e briciole nei letti, macchie rosse su alcune lenzuola...), in secondo luogo il wifi era pressoché inesistente (segnale debolissimo solo vicino la porta d'ingresso, nel resto della casa assente), inoltre non hanno avuto la grazia di avvisarci che la vicinissima spiaggia (come indica il nome della casa, il mare le è proprio di fronte) era impraticabile a causa di un fenomeno di alghe che interessa la regione da quasi un anno, alghe che impediscono di fare il bagno e che marciscono sulla spiaggia, saturando l'aria di odori sgradevoli. Solo 3 delle 4 stanze da letto sono vere stanze, la 4 (dove purtroppo alloggiavamo io e la mia ragazza) è stata ricavata da uno studio, per cui è minuscola e puzza di umidità in maniera spaventosa. L'agenzia, nonostante le nostre rimostranze e le continue chiamate, ha avuto la buona grazia di inviare un suo incaricato solo il penultimo giorno, e solo per ricevere i soldi dell'affitto. Ci hanno promesso un rimborso ma a questo punto dubitiamo fortemente di vedere un soldo.

El lugar ideal
Tuvimos la suerte de alquilar esta casa ubicada en Playacar fase 1, un muy buen condominio que tiene la entrada al lado del nuevo shoping de Playa del Carmen.
La ubicación es excelente y la casa muy espaciosa y bien mantenida.
Cuando llegamos y abrimos la puerta nos encontramos con que los aires ya estaban encendidos, había música funcional soñando y nos dejaron una canasta con amenities de regalo.
Fuimos tres parejas, la casa tiene cuatro dormitorios todos en suite, un hermoso living comedor, cocina completa, lavadora y secadora, sillas y sombrilla para la playa, una hermosa piscina en en frente de la casa con reposeras, y dos amplias terrazas en dos niveles distintos desde donde se ve el mar y hay mesas sillas y reposeras en ambas.
La casa esta a escasos 30 metros de la playa, el condominio es muy tranquilo y estas muy cerca de la calle 5 la principal de Playa del Carmen. Ah me olvidaba que tiene una barbacoa a gas muy buena que la usamos a la noche para cenar junto a la piscina

Playacar - near the action, but not crowded
We have never been to this area before and were very lucky to end up in the perfect place. We rented Casa Vista Del Mar in Playacar for a week. It is a quick, easy, safe walk to the hustle and bustle of Playa Del Carmen, but without the crowds of the big hotels. You can also walk to the ferry that goes to Cozumel. The owners (NASPLAYA) and rental company (Blue Paradise Vacation Rentals) were great to work with!! We ran into a small problem with the hot water, and they went above and beyond to resolve the situation quickly. Carla - our concierge - was very helpful and the owners were very helpful.
The beach is beautiful, the house is great, and the community of Playacar is wonderful. We actually got a chance to look inside the two neighboring houses on Xaman Ha and they were equally nice.
We had heard and read a lot about people feeling unsafe in Mexico and are happy to report we never felt that way. Keep in mind that the shop owners and street "salesmen" definitely barter and try to entice you into their stores with promises of a good deal, but they aren't threatening. It's just different than what we are used to in the States.
Plumbing in Mexico also seems to be different than in the States. (In many places the toilet paper goes in the trash can - not the toilet) But the food is great and the margaritas are even better! This house had bottled water, as did most of the places we looked at. This house does have Wi-Fi. It was a little spotty at times, but hey...you are on vacation....you shouldn't be on the internet all day!
If you book early and want to spend a little more money, get a house right on the beach. This one is on the opposite side of the street and the only real view of the ocean is from the rooftop deck. But it was still a great location and the price will be better than the beach front houses. If you want to be near the action, but would like to avoid the crowded beaches and noise of Playa Del Carmen, this is the place to be!
