This is the perfect spot to deflate, relax and/or go out and about! Valerie takes great pride in making her guest feel at home and is very gracious, kind and a wealth of information about the island! Me and my daughter spent a week with Valerie and her pups, enjoyed the swimming pool, got to meet locals, and did all the extras that the island offers! The dock and view here are amazing, so much to explore!

GREAT way to decompress!
Thank you, Valerie for a very peaceful week. The cottage has your basic needs (really appreciated the kitchen!) and the screened in porch was wonderful (bring bug spray). When we were there we spent most of our time outside on the porch or walking down to her private dock - whether to look for turtles, watch the sunrise or look up at the stars at night. Kayaks were fun. The pool was really nice to have - Spend all day at the beach and come back for a cocktail and some social time at the pool. Bonus for us were the dogs. Valerie is a WEALTH of island knowledge so just ask her and wants to be helpful in anyway that she can.

Exactly what we needed!
We just returned home from a wonderful 3 day stay at EVC. They were exactly as described and perfect for a simple getaway for the 2 of us. The cottage was simple but clean and had everything we needed. The pool was not fancy, but very nice to have at hand. The kayaks were great and we saw a sea turtle while kayaking out to the cay. Valarie was a great host. There's not much to do on Exuma, but we enjoyed the stunning beaches!

Wonderful Vacation
Great housekeeping cottage with a wonderful hostess. Close to ocean to launch kayaks. Quiet sandy beaches & beachfront restaurants nearby. Pool was a nice perk. Nice place to “unplug”.

Outstanding trip!
We just returned from a trip to Valerie's vacation cottages on Exuma. The cottage was clean, well appointed with dishes, cooking utensils, towels and linens. Although we were warned that the WiFi could be spotty, it worked absolutely fine for us. We connected with no problem and there were also plenty of electrical plugs for charging any devices. Valerie is friendly, knowledgeable and will do whatever is needed to make your vacation a success. We loved the screened-in porch with the beautiful view and the protection from the bugs! The pool was delightful after a long day on the beaches to cool off in non saltwater, but the best was the kayak that comes with every cottage. Several days we took off with the kayak to find deserted beaches where we could swim, picnic and while away the day. Other days we would travel to Little Exuma to the beaches of Forbes Hill and Tropic of Cancer and enjoy lunch at Santana's or Tropic Breeze. We saw one mention of Mom's Bakery next to Santana's for baked goods (yummy), but also just a few steps further down and across the street is a little conch fritter shack - delicious conch fritters ten for four bucks! The other store we wanted to mention is Prime Island Deli. It's on the right side of the street as you travel from the airport, well before you get to Georgetown. It sells wonderful salads and great cuts of meat. It now also has some basic grocery items. We much prefer this store to Exuma Market. And if you're looking for fresh fish, Valerie put us onto a little beauty parlor across from the Liquor store in Georgetown. The owner's husband is a fisherman and she has fresh fish for sale in her shop. All in all, we cannot say enough about Exuma and Valerie's cottages for an absolutely wonderful, relaxing vacation. We certainly hope to return next year!

We were looking for relaxation and natural beauty, and we found it here!!!
We had a wonderful, relaxing week here. The cottage had everything we needed, and having access to a kayak anytime was wonderful. If you are looking for night life, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a beautiful setting and a place to get away from it all, contact Valerie. She is a gracious host and a wealth of information. We will come back again.

Wonderful cottage, good location, friendly manager!!
Three of us where on a mission/vacation trip. Valerie was so helpful and friendly. We are dog owners so her 3 dogs where nice to have around. The location is quiet with a view of the water. We had a cottage with 2 bedrooms and it was perfect for us. It has a small kitchen with everything except a dishwasher which was not an issue for us. We loved having breakfast on the screened in porch and evening drinks watching the sun set. The Tropic of Cancer Beach is a short drive away. They have the same electric current as the U.S.A., but make sure you use the surge protector to plug in your devices. We loved staying here and hope to return next year.

Kayak to paradise
The bungalow is comfortable ,clean and in a great location.its quiet but has great beaches around it.you do need a car but shopping in Georgetown is 15 mins away.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook and have meals at home.
The best day ever is a kayak ,using Valerie's kayaks from her private dock across to Moriah cay..it's gorgeous ,colours superb,deserted beaches.good value for money .a really relaxed stay.

We WILL return!
My wife and I stayed at Valerie's for 7 nights. Everything was perfect for us. Our cottage was simple and clean, which we all know is the most important aspect of a rental. Valerie is extremely helpful, generous, and funny. She was right there to answer questions, give directions, or offer advice. On New Years Eve she invited us into her home to watch the Alabama game because the restaurant we went to watch the game at closed early to get ready for New Years. That being said, she wasn't intrusive at all, we had plenty of privacy.
Wifi was spotty. Sometimes we could pick it up in the cottage. Sometimes on our porch. Sometimes we sat on Valerie's steps. It wasn't a big deal to us, we were there to get away and just used the wifi to make plans for the day or check in with the family at home.
Eating breakfast on the front porch while looking out at Moriah Cay is a fantastic way to start the day. Moriah Cay harbor is a great place to explore with the kayaks that are included with the cottage. We spent 2 of our days kayaking here, which wasn't enough. We should have spent more time there, but there are so many places on the island to visit. We saw starfish, conch, crabs, a variety of fish, birds and several juvenile lemon sharks. The lemon sharks were the highlight for us. There is an area called "The Cut Beach" that you absolutely must visit on the kayaks. We wish we had "discovered" it earlier in the trip so we could have spent more time there.
We will return to Exuma in the future, and we won't hesitate to stay at Valerie's again. It's a fantastic value when compared to the prices of other rentals. Especially when you consider the free kayaks.

Wonderful quiet place for a relaxing stay near great beaches
Highly recommended, quiet place, nice pool, great kayaks for two to start a trip in a flat water area, great beaches nearby on Little Exuma (Forbes Hill and Tropic Cancer), Valerie is a wonderful host, always helpful and easy going. Loved the screened porch to sit outside at night minus the bugs ;-)
