Disappointed
We were disappointed with this rental. Nothing is close by and the beach is NOT a 45 second walk, and the resort area (Baha Mar) is a good 35-minute walk. If you were to sprint down the block and scale a 10-foot wall you may be able to get to the ocean in 45 seconds. The resorts are a good ½ hour walk, see attached google maps. We are physically fit and walk at a fast pace.
We did not have a rental car and planned to walk and use the bus. We learned that the bus stops around 6:30 – 7pm so unless you have a car this is not an ideal location. We did not feel safe walking along the main road at night. There were not many other tourists and walking through dark parking lots with people hanging out in cars was a bit scary. KFC, Pizza Hut etc. are the only places to get food (about 10-minute walk) and they both have security guards at the door. The homes have gates, walls, fences, bars over the windows. It felt like we were in a prison.
The owner also did not inform us that there were dogs on the property so when we arrived we were afraid to go in because we could hear the dogs barking but could not see them. The dogs also barked at night and in the morning.
The studio apartment is newish, but the sheets and bedding are old and pilled.
We were booked to stay for 4 nights but left after 2 nights. During our stay we never once saw the owners. We asked for refund, but owner said we were trying to extort money. Bottom line, this is nice apt. but not close to anything and not ideal to walk to anything nearby if safety is important during the evening.

Hey Dawn thanks for your feedback. I'd like to go back to all of our previous email correspondences before you threatened to give us a poor review unless we gave you a refund for nights you chose to leave for.
- This is a residential neighbourhood AWAY (which the listing clearly states) from resort amenities - if you are looking for a busy thriving environment all within minute walks to shopping and dining I would recommend you stick to resorts. This is the case for the majority of rentals on the island.
- The beach is one block away (you walk past 4 houses - please use Dawn's map or google as reference). I really don't know what wall you keep talking about, but if it truly is bothersome and inconvenient to get to where you're trying to go by walking, again I would suggest you book something ON the beach or waterfront next time.
- The bus schedule is the bus schedule, we spoke about rentals and scooters in previous emails before you arrived if you wanted and again, you chose not to.
- The safety features of the house are standard for the Bahamas - bars, gates, and also the dogs are there to enforce that (which these are rescue pups who are part of the family). And actually just to compare, all Embassy homes require these features for rentals in Nassau, you are in the capital, the city - this is standard.
- The area boasts MANY rentals, anyone can look up the inventory. I feel that your review is bias and damaging to not only our listing but painting an ugly picture of our beautiful Bahamas. To also say you never saw us, well, a) you didn't even get there until after dinner and as always, b) to respect privacy between guests and homeowners you probably wouldn't unless you popped over or saw you in passing. I was very responsive to answer emails and questions even after you took off. I also offered out of courtesy if I could fill your nights I would reimburse the 2, and even after that didn't happen I offered to SPLIT your 2 empty nights so no one would be out of pocket. EVEN though the cancellation policy says otherwise.
To the future travelers and guests to Nassau, please ask and let me know if you have any questions at all, ever! If you are looking for the hustle and bustle, I would highly recommend staying somewhere touristy or at a hotel, and if you're trying to escape that but be close enough to choose, we are welcome to have you on your next trip in!

Super easy, breezy experience
The lodgings were everything as advertised. Convenient, quiet location minutes to a gorgeous beach.
Deb is an excellent host, super friendly and responsive.
Problem-free expriene all the wy!

Bellissimo!!!!!
Be appena arrivati l'accoglienza di Deb la titolare è stata vivace e confortevole!!!! Hanno rispettato l'orario di entrata in casa e addirittura l'uscita quando volevamo noi.....meglio di così! Comunque casa molto pulita e gestita molto bene a pochi passi dal mare. Consiglio vi agente questo posto!!!

Lovely studio- great location!
We simply loved our time in this studio! I stayed here with my girlfriend for a week and from start to finish Deb and Scott were fantastic- they are truly lovely people! When we arrived Scott was there to let us in and give us the heads up on places to go, the buses and where the nearest stores etc were which was very useful. Deb arranged for us to go on a boat excursion which was a great day and she recommended restaurants for us which was really sweet of her. The studio itself has everything you need, a monster tv, microwave, toaster, hob and a good sized fridge and freezer. The air con works like a charm which is much needed! The studio is really close to the beach, where we did some snorkelling and saw some big fish, they have showers too which is good, no one likes being covered in sand! There is a convenience store close by and a food court with a kfc, Pizza Hut and pharmacy. There are buses and taxis going past all the time so you don't have to wait long before you can get one, we found the buses the easiest. The studio is very close to cable beach in one direction and downtown in the other which makes it the perfect location. If you are looking for a nice escape this is the perfect place to do it- and the owners will make sure you have a great time. Thanks Deb and Scott- we hope to come back again soon!

Perfect retreat for our vacation
My husband and I stayed for a week this past September, and it was everything that we needed to recharge our batteries! Our hosts were very helpful in recommending activities to do, where to get our groceries and which beaches were the best to visit. They also suggested that we book a day trip with the company Sandy Toes to visit a private island for snorkeling, a beach bar and fantastic BBQ, and it was absolutely worth it. I highly recommend it!
We had a wonderful time in Nassau, and plan on coming back and staying here again in the future!

Ideal location for a relaxing break
My sister and I stayed here for a short break. The owners were very friendly and made sure all arrangements went smoothly. They were on hand to deal with any problems or queries. The studio is situated close to bus stops and beach but in a quiet residential area.I
would recommend for a change from the usual tourist resorts.

Fantastic! Close to everything!
Me and my husband stayed for a week at this charming little apartment rental. The owners were great to deal with and set up the stay. The apartment itself was very clean and was everything we wanted. Was close to beaches and shopping. Would definitely recommend to friends and family if they wish to stay in Nassau off a resort!
