Great apartment, equipped with all you need for a self catering holiday. Living space is cool and well ventilated. Air con in bedrooms very effective. A lazy 5 minute walk to Payne’s Bay beach, local rum shacks and restaurants. Well situated for buses or taxis 🚌 to take you around the island. Supermarkets easily accessible by a short bus ride. We will definitely return.

This is a no frills apartment for 4 which suited us well and good value. It's aching for a little TLC to become 5 star. The balcony gets enough sun to dry your towels but not enough to sunbathe. Ideal for cocktails. It's close to a beach which keeps its simplicity - no sunbeds or umbrellas- but I went every morning for a swim and many evenings just for the sunset. Juliet was there to welcome us and quickly sorted out any problems. Sam cleaned and changed bedding efficiently. Pear Tree is located amongst local housing so expect cockerels, guard dogs and visits by a troupe of monkeys. Plenty of places to eat; buy some fish from the Paynes Bay fish market to cook back at the apartment.

As others have mentioned, this is an apartment on a residential street. At times it was noisey (roosters, barking dogs, music) but after a few days we got used to it. The apartment is bright and airy and the location is excellent. It is close to the beach and we walked or took a taxi to a different restaurant every night. You must be careful when walking because the beach road is very busy and some sections do not have sidewalks. Masseys grocery store in Holetown is excellent. Jordan’s was not as good. We toured St Nicholas Abbey which was interesting but do not take the train. It is a waste of money and there is nothing to see. Just go to Cherry tree hill lookout on your own. The property manager Juliet was extremely friendly and helpful.

Excellent location, off the main coast road, near the bus stops and also near a taxi rank, local supermarket a 15 minute walk away, however you could get the bus. Within walking distance of a handful of eating places/ restaurants. The apartment is lovely, a little tired- not disappointed as had read this in reviews. Could have done with clearer directions for the taxi driver when we arrived, drove around for a while but the staff at the nearby petrol station were able to help. Could do with air conditioning in both bedrooms, and more crockery in kitchen units, and a hand rail on the stairs up to the apartment only minor issues as the property is well cared for and very clean. Could be a problem if there are noisy residents in adjoining house.

I booked this apartment because I needed 2 bedrooms and close to the Beach View apartment-hotel resort on Paynes Bay, St James Parrish. I had friends staying there. I had not realized how close we were until we arrived and Beach View was just around the corner. The street where the apartment sits is a real neighborhood complete with barking dogs, roosters, music from houses and cars, loud voices. If you accept that this is the Caribbean and the price is very reasonable then you will be OK. Hot water is supplied by a solar heater so can sometimes be tepid. Property managers are very responsive to your needs and highly recommend them.

If you want to leave the tourist strip but not wander too far, then this is the place for you. Up a small gap in a Bajan neighborhood but 5 minutes from the beach, a variety of restaurants and local eateries nearby, and local buses. Bright, airy and spacious. Air conditioning in the master bedroom but really not needed. Helpful property manager who aims to please. and friendly cleaner. A few very minor annoyances not worth mentioning. If you want perfection stay at a high end hotel!

We were the first people to stay in this apartment and we have come back every year since and have booked already for next year. Ideal location, easy to get everywhere and apartment has everything you will need.

Very spacious apartment good lighting and air-conditioning in the main ensuite bedroom, decor needs some modification as it looks very tired.

Great apartment great location close to bus stops will stay here again.. Beach a short stroll away next to fish market,local bars and restaurants within walking distance .lime grove is about 5 minuets away by bus excellent shops and bars

We found this property via Airbnb and from the off was looking forward to this cool property in St James, Barbados Once we arrived, we couldn't miss it as it looks exactly as the photos show. A very clean and airy property, from the living room area to the bedrooms. Each bedroom was en suite and more than enough room for 2 adults. Lovely balcony which catches the sun if you fancy sunning at "home". The property manager, gave us the lowdown of the property and things to do in the area. She even gave us a lift to the local supermarket which provides all you need although pricey! The bus stop is walking distance from the apartment and easy to get around on, both locals and tourists use them to get you end to end. There's also a fish market and beach within walking distance. There are both high end and medium priced restaurants and eateries locally, we hardly ate in once we got our bearings. We would defiantly stay again.
