For the price, easily five stars. The apartments are just a few hundred feet from the beach and right in the heart of Castara. Kurt, the host, is particular in his cleanliness, conscientious, attentive, and friendly. There is hot water and A/C; the beds are comfy; the kitchens are well stocked with kettle, toaster, cookware, etc; and there are hummingbirds buzzing around constantly. A few imperfections that I consider negligible given the low cost and other high points: some mosquitoes penetrate the wooden slats in the doors to get into the living areas (but the A/C and additional doors kept them from penetrating to the bedroom) and the WiFi is spotty. Would book this again in a heartbeat. P.s. the actual name of this place is Baywatch Apartments.

I had the great pleasure of staying at Kurt and Ivy's in February of 2019. They were very hospitable. The rooms were excellent and within walking distance to the Castara Beach. There were many restaurants and food options within the area as well. We decided to stay in Castara as we were told it would be quieter. It definitely was; however, there was always something to do at night. We had a blast and would come back, hopefully to stay longer.

For the last 16 years I've managed hotels, from the Hilton's to the Marriott's in Canada and believe me... Baywatch Apartments are IMMACULATE, the customer service is SUPERIOR and the location is feet from the most gorgeous beach; you can hear the waves all night. Thanks Kurt for everything. I'll definitely be back because it was really what we needed. All the special touches like the hummingbirds all day long to keep your company, complimentary beer and water upon arrival, a great host both him and his wife and the care we got from them was A1. Love Castara, it's safe, the people are friendly, ample shopping and activities for an ENJOYABLE HOLIDAY!

Our first trip to the Caribean brought my wife and myself and our friends to Kurt and Ivy's two bed-roomed apartment which is situated right in the centre of the village with views of the sea and the sound of the waves. The apartment was ideal for our needs and cleaned every couple of days and new sheets and towels changed. Sitting on the balcony you can watch the humming birds feed all day and the occasional green parrot sit in the mango tree and overhead the giant frigate birds and pelicans are a spectacular sight to behold. The beach is a mere forty yards away and sunbeds can be rented for 30TT each for the day and once you are in the water you wont want to come out as its like a bath. Kurt and Ivy live on site they are a lovely couple and are very friendly and helpful with any needs you might have. They have a hire car which we used to explore the island, its automatic transmission and once you drive on the island you will see why it is. There is a small supermarket in the village and several places to eat. We stayed over the Xmas period so we did suffer some noise from the locals celebrating on a couple of occasions but i am sure the only normal noises are from the resident cockerels greeting you to another lovely day in paradise.

Nous avons été enchantés par notre séjour à Castara. La location est à 50 m de la plage, donc très facile pour l'organisation d'une famille ! L'appartement de deux chambres, situé au 1er étage, était très propre, bien équipé, grand et fonctionnel. Une petit balcon permettait de prendre les repas en écoutant la mer ou les oiseaux ! Le lieu est calme, relaxant, beaucoup de petits magasins où l'on peut se ravitailler, un bar juste en bas mais pas trop bruyant. Et les hôtes sont très attentifs et arrangeants. Seul hic : un malentendu sur le tarif au départ, dû à un mauvais paramétrage de l'offre (calcul du site par rapport à un des logements à une chambre, donc location finalement plus chère qu'annoncée sur le site), mais Kurt a été très compréhensif et nous avons pu trouver un arrangement. Nous avons également pu louer une voiture sur place pour aller découvrir l'île, à un prix tout à fait correct. Merci Kurt !

This was our fourth visit to Castara a wonderful fishing village on the Caribbean side of the island of Tobago. Our first time at Baywatch Apartments with Kurt and Ivy Eastman two wonderful hosts staying in their one bed roomed apartment which was like home from home, impeccably clean and spotless. The location at the heart of this village 2 mins walk to the beach, supermarket, local eating places and beautiful waterfalls a short walk away. Lovely birds daily in the garden and on the feeders yet a peaceful and quiet location. We have made some wonderful friends in the village and now count Kurt and Ivy amongst our Caribbean family. Love Castara and its local culture and safe environment a must place to visit to experience the true Caribbean way of life. Roll on retirement to be able to spend a few months here every year, now that would be perfect or maybe even a month in January 2018!!

I don't usually do review and ratings but this one is worth the time. I took my fiance there for his birthday to get him away from the hustle and bustle of his job. We were to stay for only two days and ended staying an entire week. He was so relaxed that he wanted to extend. Baywatch apartments is quiet, serene and soooooo clean, cleanest guest house I've ever been too. Kurt and his lovely wife are amazing. They really go the extra mile for their guests, beyond hospitable. Everything needed is really close by a 2mins walk to beach with lifeguards, ATM machine, waterfall, shops and places to dine. My favourite was the bonfire dinner on the beach which happens every thursday night. OMG. I love cascara and the island feel that is has. Thank you guys so much for making our stay perfect.

I recommend this place to stay. The owners take care of you in a very good way. The rooms in clean and its a very quit place to stay for a short period. I stay there for 2 weeks. Its best to rent a car that you can travel around. They have a supermarket there but its not so many things to buy. Old women are making homemade bread to times a week in an open owen close to the beach and the bread are very good.

My friends and me stayed for only two days. but all was great. We totally agree with all previous commentators. We love it there. We plan to go back soon. Kurt and Ivy will do all they can to make your stay hassle free. Thank you so very much Kurt and Ivy.

We visited Tobago for the first time and felt in love with the island. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit with my in laws. It was comfortable and fully furnitured. The owner was Kurt was very attentive and a helpful guide. Look forward to visiting again.
