Firstly, I should have written this review a long time ago but mainly due to not knowing where to start, and needing a few months to de-compress from our beautiful wedding it has taken me longer than I anticipated. We feel so incredibly luck to have found Marina and Jeff and to have had our wedding hosted at the beautiful Can Caxan.
I held my wedding at Can Caxan in September 2014, it was absolutely perfect in every sense. We went to meet Marina and take a tour of the house in June last year and were just bowled over by the beauty of the place, and the obvious meticulous attention to detail visible in the extensive restoration and landscaping. The rooms are beautiful, very boutique and authentic, and the infinity pool with the waterfall is just stunning. We had already been liaising with Marina for several months prior to this meeting, so I already had an idea that we would get on as she seemed to understand perfectly the type of wedding we wanted to have (relaxed, bohemian) but meeting her in person further cemented this. Marina is such a kind and intuitive person and really put so much effort into planning our wedding from start to finish. She has lived on Ibiza for a number of years and so has many useful contacts and really creative ideas to put forward.
We had around 60 guests attend the ceremony and party, and half of our guests stayed in nearby villas, which was great as we could walk between them. Marina had used her excellent organisational skills to manage the rentals of these properties, which are not normally up for rental outside of family and friends, so that was a great help.
During the week before the wedding many of our family and friends went to a stag and hen party which Marina helped to organise at a beautiful, local hidden cove- which was just magical. Marina was always on hand to help with any last minute changes or advice which was so helpful.
For the actual wedding, Marina’s husband Jeff (who we met for the first time during the wedding week) catered for the wedding meal. It was an absolute feast and an incredible feet to deliver such high quality, delicious and well-presented food for that number of guests all at the same time. Jeff is a very accomplished chef, so we felt very privileged to have his personal services for the wedding. So many of our guests commented that the food was extremely yummy, and it was really course after course, which was great as we really wanted food to play a central role.
Marina’s organisation and attention to detail had clearly paid off, as the wedding was such a success, everything flowed beautifully- the marquee Jeff had constructed was gorgeous and the view whilst we all ate dinner with the sunset behind us was unforgettable, the decorations were lovely and the service from the staff was very smooth.
I don’t want to write too much here as I could go on in much more detail, but I would be happy to respond to anyone that wants more information. Ultimately, we feel so very lucky to have met Marina and Jeff, they went out of their way to create the dream wedding for us at Can Caxan; relaxed, beautiful and full of love. We will definitely stay in touch with Marina and Jeff, they are such great people and will definitely be returning to Can Caxan.
