Unpleasant weekend away with dogs
We planned a relaxing weekend away with our dogs and were very excited when one of our friends recommended this dog friendly accommodation.
We emailed the owner prior to booking the accommodation and she confirmed our three dogs were welcome. We mentioned to her that we will leave the dogs in the property during dinner outings.
We checked the homepage and found nothing to suggest that this was not allowed.
Also the owner said that they can’t make too much noise which we were confident they wouldn’t do.
We arrived and were positively surprised about the beauty of the landscape and the lovely studio. Everything was perfectly clean and tastefully decorated.
Straight away we felt relaxed.
Unfortunately this feeling changed after returning from a winery outing the following day.
When we arrived back the owner told us in a cold way that the dogs had been barking non stop all day. Particularly the big one she said.
She mentioned that the neighbors of the other studio had complained to her and had to leave because of the noise.
We were surprised as she didn’t try to call or text us.
Later that night we realized she had sent an email to my work email.
She said in the email she isn’t keen on us leaving the dogs alone in the house any longer.
We had booked activities for the next day which weren’t refundable and we decided to drive our bigger dog back to Melbourne to stay with friends.
Mentioning that in an email to the owner the same evening but never got a response. Which means one of our three nights we wanted to relax we needed to spend driving our dog home.
The next day we saw the neighbors leaving their studio and as we were very apologetic about our dogs “barking” we went and apologized to them.
The lovely couple was very surprised as they told us they didn’t hear any barking and surely didn’t complain. They were as shocked as we were to hear that the owner had lied to us.
Our holiday from there on was uncomfortable and we definitely didn’t feel welcome.
We felt more stressed after coming back from the weekend as before we left.

A luxurious retreat
This property was an absolute find for a very relaxing night away.
Travelling with friends for a family function we used both studios. The decor was very modern and beautifully finished. The crockery and glassware all a very good quality. The breakfast hamper was quite substantial with very fresh ingredients . Our only disappointment was we couldn't stay longer.

A naturally restful weekend retreat
Our two night stay was intended simply to provide comfortable and convenient accommodation for a nearby business meeting on the Peninsula. We really wished we could have stayed longer.
The studio was comfortable, spacious, spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed throughout and very thoughtfully provisioned. The studios sit in a pleasantly shaded, wooded area.
Although the immediate surroundings of the property are a little dull, the peaceful Balnarring and Merricks beaches and amenities are nearby and if you feel like eating out, Le Bouchon in Balnarring is well worth a visit for dinner.

Perfection
My husband and I stayed in studio 1 for four nights. We are so glad we chose to stay here! The owners have thoughtfully included everything needed for a comfortable, luxurious stay. We immediately felt at home. There is a deck with chairs which was great for reading a book on a mild day. The bed was so incredibly comfortable and it overlooks a lovely garden.
The bathroom was gorgeous, clean and I love the use of full size hand wash, shampoos etc rather than little one use sachets/ bottles. It made me feel like I was staying at a very thoughtful and hospitable friend's guest room. There's no door to the bathroom which might be a deal breaker for some couples/ families, though you can angle the wardrobe doors to help screen the entrance, if you needed to. Otherwise you could see the toilet from the bed. However everything else was so good The shower is awesome!!
The studio is very private, adjacent to another larger studio apartment. I guess you could probably hear each other in the kitchen area, but we didn't find noise an issue. I loved the kitchen - clean, easy to find everything and so well stocked. It included a capsule type coffee machine with plenty of choice in strengths. There was also plenty of tea and other beverages. No little tubs of UHT milk here- rather a good sized glass bottle was waiting in the fridge. A loaf of bread was another thoughtful provision.The dishwasher was great.
In an attached room there is a laundry with washing machine and dryer which was handy after a day out swimming. I think it is shared with the other studio, but i didn't bump into anyone there.
We met Marianne a couple of times as we left for outings, she was lovely and recommended a market down the road which turned out to be awesome.
I was desperately in need of down time and to be away from people, so the privacy and quiet Coolart studios offered was much appreciated. I really wished I'd booked for longer. This is on the list of places I hope to stay at again in the future. Highly recommended! Thanks Marianne and Mike!

Everything you could want
The Coolart Studios provided a luxurious haven for our easter escape. Both studios were beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed for our family easter lunch. It was easy to relax with plenty of space to spread out. We made the most of the comfy couches, chaise lounge, day bed and giant bath in studio two. We were impressed by all the little details that the owners, Marianne and Mike, have thought of. We will definitely be back.

Amazing 5*Star. Recommend
Extremely spacious, modern, clean. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED without a doubt.
All the mods air-con, foxtel, wifi,beautiful breakfast all included, later check out was arranged no hassles. The bathroom is amazing... We were very impressed with everything..
This is a no disappointed guaranteed stay..
Good for couples and family's due to the size of the place...

What a beautiful place to stay!
We were lucky enough to stay at Coolart Studios which we didn't realise had only just recently opened. We were in our element- everything was so beautiful- it was like we'd stepped straight into a home style magazine. We didn't want to leave.
Amazing bedding, linen, bathroom design, nice towels, fluffy bath robes, divine french cutlery, a ridiculously comfy red chair. Oh the many things we loved! This place really stands out.
