Adjacent to Archeological museum, there is St. Francis church and St. Cathedral, all are open for visit.
Photography inside is not allowed in any of the building.
Mediaeval artifacts and statues are worthy to witness.

The extensive series of portraits of Goa viceroys and governors is impressive. Although I wouldn't normally be interested in paintings of this sort, many of them come across as personality studies (seriously!) to consider against the artifacts and other exhibits on display. This museum is an unexpected treasure trove if you have the time to explore.

Это очень интересная экскурсия! Если ещё хороший гид попадётся...Еам с женой очень понравилось. Это христианский Гоа благодаря португальцам. Много соборов, памятников и классный музей. Само посещение оставляет приятное впечатление. Рекомендую.

This Archaeological Museum is located very close to the Church complex in Old Goa, really worth a visit, the artifacts and paintings etc are very well maintained and it is quite an experience to see the rich heritage and wonderful archives collected and maintained in this museum. There is a small entry ticket but it is well worth it ...
Sharing a few pics, must visit, kids will also enjoy and learn from this visit. This place is a must visit for the History buffs ... Photography not allowed in few parts of the museum

It is in Velha Goa, in the area where old Goan churches are located. Big museum housing artefacts, portraits and other things that are related to history of Goa including Portuguese times. A must for anybody who wants to know about Goa. It will take about two hours to visit the whole museum.

This museum is run by the ASI and located within the complex at Old Goa across the Basilica of Bom Jesus. It appears hidden within the several cathedrals in the vicinity, but is well worth a visit. It has several galleries that outline the history of Goa - very educational and informative.
Keep some time aside to visit this, alongwith the other architectural buildings of the area.

This campus is most famous as old church in old Goa.
Following sightseeing places are located at same campus in Old Goa within comfortable walking distances:
A) Archaeological Museum
B) Catholic church of St. Francis of Assisi
C) Se Cathedral (Church)
D) Basilica of BOM Jesus (Church)
NB:
a) Archaeological museum & Catholic Church of St. Francis of Assisi are next to each other.
b) Se Cathedral Church is immediately behind the Catholic Church of St. Francis of Assisi
c) Basilica of Bom Jesus is located on the other side of green park.
1.Location & Distance Old Church Goa:
Old church is located in old Goa at 10 km from Panji Bus Stand.
Use GPS, it will guide you accurately. We made use of it.
2. Open & Close Days:
Museum is closed on Friday.
It is open from 9 am to 5 pm on other week days.
3. Parking:
a) VIP Car Parking
It is opposite the entry gate of this campus.
Those who have VIP parking pass are allowed to park here.
No idea on the process of VIP car parking pass.
b) Common Parking
It starts on the left side of road next to VIP car parking gate.
During crowded hours, parking may be available after half or one kilometer or more distance on this one way road.
Tips:
i) After reaching the old church junction, take left turn & you will see VIP car park area on your left. Before proceeding straight ahead further, please let the passengers especially old, women & kids get down here.
Then drive straight till you find the place to park your car on left side of road. Park car & walk back. If you get a place very near it is short walk. If you get a place far away then equally long walk
The very first left turn goes towards river which is at 100 meter distance. This road is also used for parking car. We parked our car on the road diversion to river.
4. Entry Ticket:
Rs.10 per head for all aged 15 & above.
Wheel chairs are available for disabled persons.
5. Drinking Water:
Cold water drinking facility is available.
6. Washroom:
Good toilet facility with Indian & western commode system plus urinal is there.
It is maintained neat & clean even though it stinks a bit.
Special toilet facility for disabled persons is also available.
7. Museum:
NB:
a) When you walk from the main entry gate of campus, you will see cannon on left side as well as archaeological museum sign board.
Take left turn & on your right you will find Church of St. Francis of Assisi & if you go straight for few meters you will come at the archaeological museum.
b) You are allowed to take photos inside museum but not of yourself or any persons with you. CCTVs are there in museum.
Galleries are numbered 1, 2, 3,4, 5, 6 etc.
On entering the museum, take left turn for first gallery.
Then climb up stairs for next gallery. It is painting portraits gallery, here photos are totally prohibited.
After coming down you will proceed to balance galleries sequentially.
Museum is maintained very neat & clean.
NB: You will enter the museum & exit the museum from same location.
8. Time For Visit:
a) 10 to 15 minutes more than enough to visit Museum.
b) 1 to 2 hours for visiting all the 3 churches at this campus.
Still it will depend on respective individual to decide on how much time to be spent.
9. Special Thing At Old Church Goa:
a) The area in front of the museum gate is a very big green lawn with beautiful trees.
It is a very picturesque sight. Photography is free here.
b) The inside architecture of all the 3 churches is mind blowing.
You are allowed to take photos inside church but not of yourself or any persons with you.
10. Photos:
I have attached photos in this review with easy to understand tag & description system.
Please have a look at all the photos to get the feel of parking place, main campus entry gate, museum entry gate, museum, museum galleries with it's content, toilet facility, big green park.
11. Food Snacks Stalls:
There are plenty of food snacks stall near to Se Cathedral church.
12. Recommendation:
Surely I highly recommend Old Church Goa as a must place to visit in Goa.
Archaeological museum is ok to visit one time since you are there.

It is next to the basillica in old goa.From baga it would cost approx 700rs to go there by cab .The museum has a lot of paintings statues gives a good insight with islamic portugese history in goa.Kids did enjoy it .

To understand the city museums are the must visit.yess small but good museum indeed . Not much to see but still worth visit.

Wonderful collection of many old items including tat of 11th to 16th century , well maintained and clean place too.
It cost you only 0/- for the ticket and it is really worth especially for people who love to see ancient sculptures and paintings
