Sleddog Tours in Överkalix is put in bankruptcy by the swedish tax authorities but this is nothing they are telling you. Instead they are fooling you on your money.

Do not send any money to Sleed dog tours in Överkalix!, you will loose your money and will not get any sleed dog tour.

Hands up - baby - hands up...

MAD Sled Dogs has provided me with a real bucket list sign off. Crossing tha Arctic Circle by dog team made me feel like the Explorers of old. The guide was very professional and was patient with my group of 'Older tourists' the dogs too were just so well behaved and seem to sense the apprehension as we set off up the trail. As it happens driving the sled was relatively straight forward even though the snow was hard and we seemed to move at a fair pace. This is really something else, blue skies, sunshine and a real taste of the exotic as we travelled through the forest and on to the 'circle' Back at the ranch we enjoyed coffee around the fire and were able to play with the puppies. all the dogs were really friendly and eager to have cuddles. My favourite was Casper my lead dog for the day. Highly recomend this activity whatever your age and the people at MAD were just great. Thank you for a great time.

Super time with MAD sled dogs for me and My family as we tok à half dag trip avrosta the arctic circle. These dogs are amazing and so so friendly. The guide gave great instruction and we had bo problem driving our 4 dog teams. Segertal photo stops were enjoyed in the perfect blue skies and sunshine. The Lappland forest were so pretty. After the trip coffee at the campfire and à chansen to meet and play with the adorable puppies. À great day and trip. We Will certainly comeback again.

We had a most enjoyable time with MAD sled dogs, taking a two day safari into the Arctic. the dogs were just Lovely and worked so hard. Our guide was very helpful as non of us had driven sled dogs Before and the camping overnight in the Lavuu was lots of fun, especially with the stove burning away to keep us all warm. a glimpse of Northern Lights rounded off an unforgettable experience. MAD provided good warm clothing, boots and gloves and the sleeping bags were toasty warm. Everything was taken care of. Highly recommended.

Overkalic Sweden was beautiful and the mad husky tour guides seemed very knowledgeable in mushing, unfortunately that's the only nice thing I can say about the whole experience.
After being told to get a early flight to lulea, we had to wait over 4 hours to be picked up from the airport, followed by a 2 hours car journey in a car with no heaters (in -20 temperatures).
After getting to the accommodation we had to wait a further 5 hours so The organiser could return to lulea airport and pick up some more people.
We didn't go for the accommodation but it was dirty and smelly and the food that was supplied was out of date and un nutritional, and special dietary needs were not met, Being a diabetic I need to eat regularly but on one day I had breakfast at 6.30 and my next meal wasn't until we got back to the accommodation 12 hours later!
There wasn't any emergency contact details in the house or was there fire evacuation plan in place.
There was a member of staff staying in a store room in the basement to look after us. We did offer him the sofa but he said the basement was better then the accommodation at the kennels.
3 out of the 4 staff walked out in the middle of the night after two days as they didn't feel that the clients or staff were in safe hands and we was left to sort our own meals out.
As for the husky course! It was unprepared, unorganised and unsafe!
the owners were unprofessional and rude.
As a group we tried to talk to Them about our concerns regarding safety on the course & our expectations not being met, the response from MAD husky tours was defensive and aggressive and the group was blamed for the staff leaving.
We spent a lot of time standing around while they got the track ready for us to use.
The snow was very soft which made it hard work for us and the dogs. We pointed out that quite a few parts of the track was unsafe but The organisers got very defensive and blamed us for not being able to control the dogs.
There was a few accidents involving members of the group coming off their sleds during the week, and none of the staff showed any concern or checked the people over and no accident report form were filled in.
We had booked for the Norway premises but they moved to Sweden after we had booked & paid, we were told it would be a better experience, but the course/dogs/staff were not ready for a us, they should of given us the option to cancel or come at a different date.
We tried to resolve the issue while we were over there but was told we couldn't do anything about it as they weren't ABTA registered! So we had no come back. The male organiser then made some very personal remarks towards us & threatened not to take us back to the airport.
We was promised a magical arctic adventure and we got a arctic nightmare!

My brother and I had a super day at Mad sled dogs. We found the kennel easily and were met by our guide. There were 4 others on the trip and we all drove a sleigh. We met the dogs in our team who were friendly and excited to go. The instructor told us how to do everything important and the dogs did the rest. We tipped over a few times in the soft snow which was funny and gave us all the giggles.

Due to deep snow, narrow pathways, several little hills and curves, the route was very difficult for our group of beginners. Just one guide made the tour with us, so that the sledges at the end of the group were not able to ask for help. It also took the guide a lot of time to get to the sledges that overturned, since he had to secure his sledge first. The sledges overturned many times and were difficult to put up again. Although we are no experts of this sport, the sharp anchor directly beside the head seemed to be rather dangerous to us. We were warned in advance to keep distance to it and were told to avoid getting in or out of the sledge on the side of the anchor. But from time to time (when we overturned) it was inevitable for us o walk around the anchor. Because of the many problems with the route, it took us very long to get to the half-way resting place. We actually should have hurried in order to be back before it would get dark. Unfortunately, the dogs were on heat and got stuck while mating (which seems to be a regular natural habit). We had to wait approx. 30 minutes twice for the dogs to be ready to move on. This is of course not a problem caused by the dogs, but the tour should have been cancelled in advance – or the dogs should have been chosen accordingly. The guide also should have shortened the route when he recognised that we won't be able to be back before darkness. He also took only one headlamp with him and none for us, so that we as participants had to make our way back without lights (fortunately, some of us had cellphones with flashlights). On our sledge, 4 dogs got loose, only 2 of them could be leashed again (the leash was broken). Therefore we had even more problems on the way back (of course, the dogs were exhausted as well and had to make the job that was previously done by 2 more of them). In the end we got back very late, in the dark, we did not get any discount for the huge problems during the tour. Maybe it was bad luck on that day, but the whole tour made a nonprofessional impression. Also, the guide should always stay calm and avoid saying things like "worst day ever" or blaming the beginners for not watching the behaviur of the dogs.
