Went in the evening, hoping to see bats emerging, and we were not disappointed. This small urban forest is well worth visiting. Lovely tracks, and great during the day as well. Seeing the tiny, endangered bats flitting above the trees at dusk was a fantastic experience.

It's lovely there for walks or sitting eating your lunch at the picnic tables. The bird calls are magnificant.

There are many and some easy walks and some little hard but it is nice and cool unders the canopies for nice enjoyable walks, always remember to take water with you on these walks.

This is a surprisingly scenic park not far from the town. It’s relatively small, and you can walk the paths in less than an hour, but some of the trees are huge! There was only one other car in the parking lot, so not crowded.

Not many towns in New Zealand have old growth forest situated in town like this. Magnificent and very large Totara, Matai and Kahikatea centuries old. Also native birds even bats. The walks are easy and you can spend some time here. Well done on leaving this lovely piece of bush for all to enjoy.

The tracks are well kept and the upper ones are wide enough for a wheelchair. There are special flying mammals that dwell here - protected from the ravages of predation. There also are some magnificant old totara and podocarp trees to marvel. An awesome place for all to visit

Various pathways through the native trees with many birds so very close to the township. It's a workout ie not flat - has views over the town.

Well kept tracks and close to the township of Geraldine. Birds fly over your head and the smell of fresh forest air is great.

Not a difficult walk but nice and pleasant and when you add the river walk to it you can have a good and peaceful walk

Just up the hill, right in Geraldine. Some very short adjoining tracks through native bush. Lovely, cool and shaded on a hot sunny day. Plenty of birdsong, and peace and quiet. We saw a couple of picnic tables dotted along the way, would be a nice place to come and have a quiet bite to eat.
