The main building of this Botanical Gardens is truly exceptional. The flora is second to none. My only issue is the size of the buildings and grounds, On a Hot Summer day, that can be daunting. my personal favourite is the variety of Cacti.

We had an amazing time of the Botanical Gardens. The Conservatory was divided into several temperate zones. I actually saw three "corpse plants." While we missed seeing any flower from this plant, we also (happily) missed the smell. The koi were really interesting to observe with their different--and I learned that they were not just big goldfish.

Beautiful conservatory with excellent flora displays. It must be a nice oasis during the winter.
Be aware that aside from some flowers in the courtyard, there is nothing outside. There is only the conservatory.
There is ample free parking available. There is WiFi - ask for the code at reception.

We made this a last minute stop and were very glad we did! Prior to going, I checked out their website and it said it encouraged patrons to purchase tickets online. I called prior to going on the day we went and they said that it was not necessary to purchase tickets prior to visiting. Also, my parents have a membership to a botanical garden in another state and they honored that membership! So, they did not have to pay admission. Shout out to Joyce at the front desk-she was so wonderful with answering my questions on the phone prior to our visit and was very patient with answering all of our questions when we arrived!
The collection of plants here was very unique! It includes a chocolate tree and carnivorous plants. Also, there were several water features with neat looking fish!

My husband and I stumbled upon this Treasure within Buffalo some 10 years ago, when our daughter was at a nearby Cheer Competition. What can we say but WOW! The building itself is lovely! We love to go in late January early February, as the greenery and flora inside is not only refreshing to the eyes, but helps take away our Winter Blues. We go any time of year, however, any chance we get, with Family, Friends, or just ourselves. Love the sheer size of it, as well as the variety of plants. Then, we found out they have special plant exhibits, interspersed in between permanent plantings, and Night time Events as well. We are Hooked! I was given a Membership for Christmas this year, and cannot wait to use it to the fullest. Great part of Buffalo, good a reason as any to visit the area, and just plain lovely. You will Not be disappointed. Thank you!

I will start this review saying that my family has visited many botanical gardens and arboretums across the US/abroad. We are arborists and familiar with trees, plants, and flowers.
The inside of the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens is nice enough, but not the varied collection of unique plants we were expecting for a conservatory. It took us about 30min to do the whole thing, though I'm sure you could milk it to a full hour if you stopped and took in each cactus or palm. There are a lot of English ivys.
Backing up to a golf course, there are 2 small gardens around the outside of the conservatory. However, a few dead trees and some weed-overgrown pathways do take away from the overall experience.
They offer reciprocal admission if you're a member of another garden in the states (American Horticulture Society, etc.). This made the botanical gardens worth a visit for us, but otherwise, the ~$50 admission for 4 adults is a bit steep.

Unfortunately this lovely garden display has suffered the loss of volunteers resulting in now being overgrown with weeds. There is a lot of great planting hiding in there but may soon be lost. Read of plans to put an addition on the building, perhaps a better choice would be to upgrade the outdoor gardens. Great potential.

Our upcoming expansion project not only features a new building on our grounds, it also encompasses an extensive renovation of many of our indoor greenhouses and a revitalization of our outdoor spaces. Once these changes are made, we hope you have the chance to return and experience our true potential.

Attended the Spring Flower event with family including grandchildren ages 2 and 4. There were beautiful spring bulb plants, a cactus room, children activity area, waterfall, and tropical plants. The kids enjoyed the scavenger hunt for a carrot and large eggs. We did not stay for the Easter Bunny the line started after a break(noon to 12;30) and extended thru one full greenhouse into almost the entrance. We chose not to stand in the long line with toddlers
It was a nice hour to spend and we went back to see the coy pond , waterfall, and cactus room. We drove 2 hours purchased on line tickets timed entry but it was very packed with people. Next time we would not go during the Easter Bunny time frame. Lucky the kids didn't see the bunny or question what the line was for!
I was disappointed in the small amount of blooming tropical plants and orchids for the time of year. Seems to be lots of ivy plants . There were lots of bulb plants wondering when those are removed what is left to see?
Overall a good hour and half experience suggest to pair this with something else if making a special trip from out of the area.

Thank you for sharing your great experience with us! We know that our Bunny Days can be really busy, but we're glad you were able to enjoy your time regardless of the long line! The Botanical Gardens features rotating seasonal exhibits, so once the spring plants grew out of season they were replaced with a new exhibit. We are currently showcasing a coleus exhibit, which will be replaced with our poinsettia exhibit in about a month.
We're thrilled to hear that you had such a nice time, and hope that you are able to return again for another exhibit!

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens was celebrating their Mum festival when I visited in early October. There were mums throughout the many glass rooms of the conservatory. Each room had a theme such as the Everglades and the Cacti rooms. Being fall, most of the flowering plants were passed their peak blooming season, but there was so much green foliage on display. I was impressed by the gigantic board leaf plants many of which spread their leaves from on high. I was there on a warm, sunny fall day, but it would be an ideal place to visit when the weather was overcast and chilly.

The indoor houses have a wide variety of plants...tropical including orchids,ferns, cacti, herbs, ivy, bromeliads, bonsai and more. There are trees, water features, fish , a small Japanese tea house and an impressive large waterfall. The outdoor gardens are seasonal and were very colorful with fall flowers. There is a family garden and children's outdoor garden. More fun for children and adults is the monthly Scavenger Hunt. We found the gardens delightful. No visit is complete without browsing the gift shop. There are books, plants, gardening needs and unique things for children and adults.
