I won't say it is very special but the view is nice. you won't miss it if you drive between Queenstown and Christchurch. The drive is easy. We didn't stop in the middle but we saw some people do.

Tussocked landscape

Rolling tussocked hills all around you as you drive through the Lindis Pass. Watch the clouds play on their smooth sides and the sun create their shadows. This is a stunning peace of road to drive in either direction.

I hadn’t quite realised that we were going through the Lindis Pass on the way to Omarama. Doh! So it was a really pleasant surprise to witness the spectacular scenery (esp. given the somewhat dour - although grand - landscape further south.

Barren beauty

This is a stunning drive through golden tussocked hillside that are all rounded and rolling in shape.
The colours of these rolling hills is absolutely stunning no matter what time of day you chose to drive through them.

오마라마에서 와나카로 가는 도중에 거치게 되는 고개인데 주위에는 나무는 없고 초원만 있어 약간 황량한 분위기까지 느꼈다. 고개 정상에서 잠시 차를 세우고 나와 봤는데 바람이 매우 시원해서 좋았다. 그냥 지나쳐도 되지만 잠시 멈췄다가 가도 좋을 것 같다.

Stunning Beauty on the Highway

Between the Clay Cliffs of Omarama and Aoraki/ Mt. Cook National Park, lies a stretch of highway through the Lindis Pass which is absolutely stunning...golden hills against a bright blue sky. When we were passing through, we were looking forward to a view of Mt. Cook, further down the road, but in all honesty, the drive through Lindis Pass was every bit as beautiful. Of note to hunters, a marker at the Summit Lookout commemorates the introduction of red deer to the area in 1871.

De weg van Oost naar West door deze pas is bijzonder fraai. Bij de Pass moet je gewoon een paar keer stoppen voor een foto of om gewoon te genieten van het uitzicht. Heel bijzonder.

Keine Ahnung warum der lindis pass eine Sehenswürdigkeit sein soll. Fand es mehr als enttäuschend.
Auch nicht empfehlenswert als picknick stop.

Beautiful

Husband and I hiked up the Lindis Pass Peak and once we got to the top it was awesome. Beautiful sites all around. It was a long hike there and back about 6 1/2 hours. Worth the hike!

Not too hard, but not easy

Great hike, must do! Starts of nice and easy ove rolling paddocks and gets up pretty high. Such a unique hike (did roys peaks, routeburn day 1 and another in milford)
