Ein wunderschöner Ausflug mit einer aufregenden Seilfahrt, der Tarabita, über eine Schlucht. Das ist schon ein Highlight. Die Wanderung zu den verschiedenen Wasserfällen ist wunderschön und wer mag, der springtvauch mal ins kühle Nass!

Not only great scenery all around but lovely to listen out for and then see so many different species of birds. Even managed to get a flycatcher just as it was catching a fly.

Ein Naturerlebnis zum wandern. Absolut beeindruckende Flora und Fauna. Am meisten haben uns die vielen Wasserfälle gefallen. Es war nicht überlaufen und man konnte sogar drin baden. Es werden viele Aktivitäten angeboten. Wandertouren, Vogelbeobachtung, Seilbahn, Tubing, Canyonning…
Tip: Badesachen für die Wasserfälle mitnehmen wir waren meist fast allein.

The mountain has been expropriated and appropriated by a man who charges 5 dollars just to walk. This person has a monopoly on the mountain and all the activities that take place on the mountain. It shows how they have been destroying nature and how the environment ministry has no control.

A wonderful hiking trip in the middle of the cloud forest. Unique vegetation and picturesque views of different cascades along the path. Pure nature which should be preserved all over the places.

Super Nebelwald! Hier kann man schön wandern und viele Sachen erleben! Ein unbedingtes Muss ist die Fahrt mit der Seilbahn, die Rundwanderung und der Besuch der Wasserfälle. Gutes Schuhwerk und Badesachen sollte man dabei haben!

Un paraíso en medio de montañas y nubes
Ves al pasear por sus senderos: Colibries, tucanes , mariposas , armadillos , sapos , loros y muchas especies de aves
Su gente es muy acogedora y cuenta con muchos lugares donde puedes hospedarte y muchos lugares para comer delicioso

Our drive to Mindo and The Cloud Reserve was worth every penny. It is so green and lush with rushing rivers and waterfalls. So many speices of plants and birds, you can't take your eyes off the scenery. We would definitely recommend going there and enjoying nature.

An interesting morning visit taking the cable car to visit the waterfalls. Well marked trail with hand rail. Not the most spectacular falls, steep climb down and up. Need to be able bodied but ok for average walker 60+

wonderful trip after a cruise in the Galapagos
David Brito from Las Terrazas de Dana arranged for a driver to meet us at the Quito Airport for a 48 hour excursion to Mindo. The Las Terrazas Eco-lodge is family run , clean , friendly and they take care to accommodate all of your needs. We enjoyed a great morning of bird watching ( saw 31 new birds ) and took a lot of great photos. The town is cute with lots of excellent restaurants but the best food was at the hotel .
We had a few hours of sunshine and luckily , it didn't rain all of the time , but we did spend a lot of relaxing time on the porch of our cabin

Can Mindo Cloud Forest be visited without a guide? With only 2 people it seems cheaper to hire a driver to go than to hire a guide just to walk us around? Thoughts?

Hola, Uru. ¿Qué te gustaría saber sobre esta atracción? Hola!, soy de Uruguay y el mes que viene viajo por 3 semanas a Ecuador. Te quiero hacer una consulta: ¿Vale la pena pasar alguna noche en Mindo Nambillo o yendo en excursión desde Quito alcanza?

Un saludo es bueno ir por tu cuenta reservar un hotel y hacer las actividades de Mindo es muy bonito vale la pena .

We were not required or advised to get the yellow fever vaccine. I would recommend bug spray though (without CFCs), especially if you will be hiking.

Hola,
Somo un matrimonio de 54 y 55 años. Visitaremos Ecuador en Julio y planeamos ir a Mindo.
No sabemos muy bien si conviene hospedarse uno o dos días en Mindo, o si es preferible hacerlo en Quito y viajar desde allí.
¿Cuántos días se puede estar en Mindo? Es decir, ¿Hay suficientes lugares para visitar como para quedarse 2 o 3 días?

Mindo is at least a 2.5 hr drive from Quito. I would suggest you NOT try doing a round trip in one day. My wife and I stayed in Mindo total of 4 days took our time enjoying and relaxing and loved it. Two (2) days is minimum you should stay. We stayed at the Coffee Lodge Spa and ate 99% of our meals there. Posted a YouTube video search TSSLKJK and you can see better what we did in Mindo. Good luck to you hope you enjoy Mindo as much as we did.

Sorry. We are a mature couple. We visited Mindo without a guide. Sorted ourselves out once there and didn't feel we needed a guide. Hopped on a bus in Quito and stayed for 4 days. Loved it. Hope you do.
