I liked staying in the warehouse district as it is close enough to be walkable to the Quarter but quiet. I felt safe enough to walk from hotel to Quarter as a solo traveler.

Great art galleries and so many new restaurants. Great for walking around, bike riding, and streetcar travel. So clean

We always stay in the Warehouse District on trips to New Orleans. It's a residential downtown area within a few blocks of Bourbon, Royal, Frenchmen, Poydras and Canal (all the main streets). It's SAFE and QUIET compared to the hotels closer to Bourbon, and there is plenty of off street parking, even monitored parking if you are willing to pay the $40-$50 per night valet fees. I lived in New Orleans until Katrina, and since then I always make it a point to visit often and stay in the Warehouse District on most of my visits (if I'm not staying with my family there!)

Interesting area with a lot of hidden treasures like the WW2 museum. It’s a very clean area which I was not expecting. Worth a visit.

Such a variety of restaurants and cozy art galleries it’s really an enjoyable evening experience that everyone can enjoy.

We visited this place since it was close to our hotel and the convention center. Recommended during the day to walk, try some pizza and maybe look around but other than that it was plain and boring.

We had a great morning walking around here. We did a self guided tour and found very interesting places. Recommend to start with the piazza Italia and end at the Ogden museum.

Great location, easy walks to great restaurants, and the World War II Museum. Would definitely recommend staying in this area.

Lors de ma dernière visite à NoLa (avant Katrina) le Arts district en était à ses débuts:15 ans plus tard le quartier a bien évolué. Jolies galeries faisant une grande place aux artistes locaux,principalement sur Julia street. Cafés et restaurants( dont le fameux Emeril’s) pour accompagner le tout . Toute cette zone , incluant le business district s’est beaucoup bonifiée Post Katrina

I fully appreciate that an area deserves additional kudos when it is brought back from dilapidation and disrepair into an area that blend historic architecture with the new. But unfortunately, I am not into modern art so a lot of what is going on in the Warehouse district was of no real interest to me and it was probably the least interesting of all the different areas of New Orleans we visited.
However, I would still recommend a stroll down Julia Street but instead of all the galleries the highlights for me were the restored architecture of Julia Row and the Craft beers in The World of Beer at 300 Julia Street, which I must confess did float my boat.
