The view was great. But I got robbed by the motorcycle staff that bring you up to the temple. Some of the staff saw my driver put my money clip in his car but security couldn’t get him to say anything. Lost 400USD. Even at the Buddhist temple you can’t let your guard down. There’s nicer places to see in VN that I feel are safer.

Gorgeous sea peninsula views from the top of the big Buddha. Loads of steps - we chose to take the motorbike ride up and walked down. Bike ride one way was 20k and another 20k entrance fee. Beautiful and peaceful inside. Worth the visit. We went as part of a day tour with Private driver booked through Quy Nhohn sports club

We've been travelling in Asia a fair bit and we've been to almost every pagoda and temple in each place we visited and this one in my mind tops them all as far as imposing and grand goes! It is massive and even more impressive inside - the walls are lined floor to ceiling with gold buddha statues! Mind blown!
It takes 759 steps the top (I counted them!) and back down, which we did in 32 degree heat - it was hectic, but so worth it! (Our guide dropped us off at the bottom and checked several times if we were up for it - maybe not thinking these two oldies will make it. About an hour later he called us to see if we made it to the top yet and we were already back down at the bottom, much to his surprise! LOL)
I believe there is an option to be driven to the top but don't quote me on it. We were the only people there that day and we did not see any cars or tuk-tuks or motorbikes when we got to the top. That said, we're not really fit and although we had to stop every 20 steps or so to catch our breath, I never felt like we would have to turn around.
Even if there is an option to be driven to the top, I would really recommend the climb to enjoy all the statues along the way and the amazing views as you go. (And to revel in the achievement of making it all the way!)
Also, this temple is a bit of a drive and out the way - you'll need to hire a driver with a car, so I'm guessing that's why not too many people go there.

If you have the opportunity to come to Quy Nhon, you should take the time to visit and worship Ong Nui Pagoda. This temple is about 30-45 minutes by motorbike from Quy Nhon City. The road to here is quite wild and full of beautiful scenery. Passing wind power towers, immense sand dunes...
Upon arrival, the space is peaceful and spacious. There are 2 ways to get to the Buddha statue: by motorbike at the parking lot with shuttle service at a reasonable price, going up 40k, going down 20k. The second way is to send a motorbike for 10k and climb up the steps to the main hall.
When we get there, we will be able to cover the entire Quy Nhon area as far as the eye can see, hills, mountains and sea.
A place worth worshiping, in the main hall there are Buddha statues surrounding, with scenes of Buddha's birth, enlightenment, entering Nirvana...

While it may be a hot, tiring walk up over 600 stairs, the experience and sights are mind-blowing here. Sweeping views, impressive temple and monastery, just a spectacular and moving location. It was very, very quiet and untouristed here, like many of the sights in Quy Nhon area. Highly recommend visiting this.

Incredible temple to visit, there is a steep climb up a lot of stairs but the temple and view are worth it. There is also a road for vehicles to go up.
There’s lots to see here and it should not be missed.
We paid 100,000 VND for two people and to park a motorbike.

From what I am told, this is the biggest Buddha not only in Vietnam but in all of SE Asia. That said, I've seen that claimed several times so who knows. Still, it's impressive. There are loads of workers still building other elements of this enormous complex. But, you can already climb to endless stairs to the Buddha. At the top, you can turn around and take in the expansive views of the Ky Co beach, the narrow strip of land with the town and hotels - and then massive rice fields. The site is currently free - most likely because it is unfinished. Don't be dissuaded by the closed gates. The workers will welcome you in through the sort of locked gate.

It's a long stairs to the top, like going to heaven. Very tired, should take break every pitstop. Bring water and umbrella. And go as soon as you can to avoid groups and the heat.
But after a long climbing, the view is really amazing. And chill up in there.

A Good travel point in Quy Nhon.
Interestingly, there is a vent window in the back of the buddha statue. Check it out.
